We'll there is only one word that describes my lounge carpet - Minging !
I did it twice as the water was black the first time. And it still looks the same. It didn't look dirty before I cleaned it, but I was expecting it to look different after I had done it. At least I know it is clean. I have been upstairs and all the carpets look the same colour, so it must just be the colour of the carpet. A good colour that hides dirt.

We didn't get around to doing ds' room. By the time I had cleaned the carpet and steamed the hard floors he wanted to go out. I am going to do some of it Saturday and finish it next week.
The poor dog didn't know what was going on. She spent the morning locked out of the lounge while I cleaned that floor and it dried, then she was locked in there while I cleaned the hall and kitchen floor.

Dd sat 3 exams today. English and then 2 in History. She was very nervous but thinks she did ok. Although they gave her the wrong timetable and she turned up late. Luckily she had the timetable with her so they knew it wasn't her fault. She had to sit at the back of a Biology exam to do the English one. Honestly that school couldn't organise a p up in a brewery !

Happy belated birthday to bloomingtasty and Nicki

Ruth-honey - I have always wanted a corset but never quite understood how the sizing would work.

ChrissyG - Glad I don't drink coffee. Urgh!

Hismissus - that's amazing moneysaving you have done for your Mum. Glad you had a good positive day.

Freespirit66 - still loving the challenges. I had a bit of a photo sort whilst going through my bedroom on Sunday. I am embarrassed to admit I found photos of my ex boyfriend and I, which is ridiculous considering I have been married to hubby for 16 years. They all got binned.

Spring dreams - thank you so so much for all the decluttering info. I have seen the other threads and I do lurk and read them from time to time, but don't post as I am rubbish at keeping up with this thread when it gets really busy so trying to post on others as well would stress me out.

I have already given all the clothes I can currently declutter to my favourite charity shop, however I never thought of selling stuff at CEX. I also watched an old hoarder next door episode yesterday, and the woman on it took loads of random new stuff to cash converters. Hmmm will have a nosy around this weekend and see what I can clear out. Not sure about a car boot or eBay as I have done both in the past and found them a bit overwhelming. Thanks again for all the info and tips.

Nanamia - Ha ha so I am not the only fruit and veg hater then. Though I do "claim" to eat veg because I eat potatoes. I will have a look at SW then. I really need to shed some timber. So what's the new hairdo?

Quidsy - hope you are ok. I have FB account but haven't used it for about a year because I got bored of work colleagues posting what they had eaten for every meal, or when they were at the gym etc. It was also a bit cringy, as I mentioned yesterday, my best friend (from being a teen) and I had a falling out where I had sort of seen her true colours and I have no intention of letting her off the hook and making things up and we have loads of mutual friends and it's as awkward as anything so I didn't really want to see Facebook. However....for my Xmas chums on here I am happy to log on and join something private with "just us".

OMO - hope your friend is ok.

JuniorJ - hope the tests and results go your way xx

Nic2075 - not sure I understand the vouchers but whoop whoop that's amazing. Free shopping, I am so chuffed for you, and well deserved after all the childcare issues. Hope you get another couple of big vouchers.

Murie - well done on the weight loss.

Well I am having an amazing night. Had a crappy day at work and I mentioned a bath and dd said she would run me one.

She ran me a bath and put bath bombs in and lit a candle and once I was in it brought me a cup of tea up. I already had a magazine in the bathroom that I never got to read at the weekend so I have had an hour plus just relaxing in the bath.

When I came down she had wiped around the kitchen and steamed the floor too, and had got DS a drink and snack and had made me another cup of tea.

I have texted DH to tell him how amazing she has been and he is sceptical and thinks that 14 year old girls don't do that for nothing and that she must be after something. He may well turn out to be correct but right now I am just enjoying my relaxing night.

    You are most welcome.

You could get your DD and DS to sort through their things and go with you to a car boot. My DS is 13 and is perceived to be very shy by most adults (once they know him better, their view changes :rotfl: ). I made him do the selling and negotiating of his stuff at the car boot, and he did very well. I also think it helps children appreciate how much things cost if they have to work for the money to pay for them. And it didn't do his maths any harm either :D

One of my neighbours saw us leaving with a car load at the crack of dawn for a number of Sundays and asked how we were doing with the car booting. She was so impressed by how much money my DS was making that she had a sort out herself and did a car boot. She made enough money to lay new flooring in her front room, so was very pleased.

I'm going to try Cash Converters to sell my DS's guitars. He is no longer interested in playing them, so they may as well find a new home. The music shop I bought them from offered me £40 for both the electric and acoustic guitar. I said no thanks, as they cost over £300 to buy, and are in excellent condition.

I bought mine from Corset Uk/Corset Story (think they've changed names recently) and chose my size from the instructions on how to measure yourself. Maybe I read it incorrectly, but that didn't work out for me. But, you could email/call them giving your bust, waist & hip measurements and they can advise you on what size you'd need. They seem to be very well made & the sales can be fab. Postage is £5, but as they're steel boned (or mine was, at least) they are fairly heavy to mail. Best to buy several at a time! ;)

OMO, hope your friend is ok. How scary.

Hate to tempt people who are trying to behave, but Hotel Chocolat have big reductions on the Christmas chocolates. Free p+p code on the board too. My friend is skint, but landed a new job today, so I've ordered a little box of chocs and had them sent to her. Hope that will brighten her day when they arrive. :) Have resisted for myself...so far!

    Quidsy - PM sent : )

Spring dreams - DD wouldn't do a carboot with me but I think DS would probably love it. The problem is when I did a carboot I struggled with just how cheeky and rude some people can be. I did it with a mate and the worst was I had a bag of soft toys which we were selling for 50p each. (They weren't grabbing machine ones, they were Disney store etc so total bargains). Anyway... These 2 guys came and picked up bag and said they would give me £2 for the whole bag. I said No. So they repeated it and kept trying to give me money and we just kept saying no. In the end they got quite scary and confrontational and they just walked off with the bag. It has really put me off. : (

I agree that you do get the odd pushy person. We got quite a few of those. However, I am not known for backing down or keeping my mouth shut, so they soon get the message that no sale means no sale :D
