That suggests a certain element of immediate posting of pictures on face book, at that early hour of Christmas morning
They're usually put on Christmas eve. That's the whole pointIf women are birds and freedom is flight are trapped women Dodos?0 -
In my experience, it's as shegirl describes it.
Many of my FB friends see Christmas as a big event and they save hard all year for it - let them enjoy it. It's not a competition to buy the least or the most.
I don't have a problem with people posting pics of presents if they want to. I sometimes wish I was able to wrap mine as nicely (I'm rubbish at gift wrapping!) because some look beautiful, but how much they've bought is irrelevant to me.
I think the insecure people people are the ones judging their friends - if you were truly happy with your decision then it wouldn't bother you at all seeing what others have bought.0 -
I will take some photos of DS wearing the clothes granny sent and playing with the toys, but she isn't on facebook (and I have just pretty much deleted all my contacts as was fed up with it), so won't be posting on-line, instead will be ordering real paper copies for her! She lives 300 miles away so doesn't see him in the flesh that much. I can understand taking photos of kids, I can understand showing them to family, but I can't really see the point of posting for your whole newsfeed to see, especially if you don't know some of the people that well, or even keep it set to friends only! I used to post pics of DS on there, holidays etc, but recently have become a lot more private about these things.Ermutigung wirkt immer besser als Verurteilung.

It's not just you OP. I'm not a fan of Christmas at all, there's too much hypocrisy involved. People suddenly finding religion, people seeing family that they normally stab in the back, spending hundreds on presents when people are struggling with their gas bill etc..
One of my facebook friends has posted pictures of what she described as her babys 'little haul' - her child is 3 months old. There must be at the very least £1,500 worth of stuff thereThe opposite of what you know...is also true0 -
Now,if you want to question facebook photos, how about questionning why people put up photos of their god damn food.Seriously, what the heck is all that about?
You see, I like that. This year has been disappointing, with only one photo of a Christmas dinner. I would have taken one of mine, but my phone was upstairs.

I was today the worlds worst parent...
My 15yrs old has wrecked three laptops after continually picking them up by the screen and breaking the hinges.
So she got a reconditioned hp laptop this xmas...And she told me it was crap and was not using it...
Well i just went and password protected mine and the wifes laptops and guess who is online on a hp laptop as we speak? It is nice to see the value of your house going up'' Why ?
Unless you are planning to sell up and not live anywhere, I can;t see the advantage.
If you are planning to upsize the new house will cost more.
If you are planning to downsize your new house will cost more than it should
If you are trying to buy your first house its almost impossible.0 -

Well, we had a lovely morning. I spent what we saw fit to spend and could afford, which was in the region of £250 per child. And I really don't care what others spent, or what others thought of what we spent.
I use FB as a social tool, to keep contact with real friends, friends who wouldn't judge whatever I posted, nor would I judge what they posted. Many of those friends posted all kinds of pics, I loved seeing them all.
Why judge?0 -
