In M and S in Perth today they had loads of nail polishes and lip gloss at £1 each (was £5). They also had a set with three bottle of nail polish for £2. The colours in this set were red, pink and a very pale pink. Great for making up beauty hampers or for little extra pressies.
The colours on the individual bottles were gold, an apricot/peach colour, pink and various pale colours which would be good for summer.

Some of the toiletries sets were £49.50 for £30. There is no way they are worth that. eg The Ragdale Hall vanity case with toiletries only looks worth about a tenner! No way they will shift at that price.

Nothing much of interest in the clothing dept- a lot of it only had 30% off so not moving. My OH has a Birthday coming up and I usually buy shirts and jumpers in M and S sale for him but nothing worth buying this year.

I'm not sure if this is the correct place to post this but has anyone else had problems returning internet orders to store when you have had a discount applied? They were store deliveries initially so no delivery charge applied.

I ordered some childrens items when they had the 30% off everything. I kept 4 out of 7 items and tried to return three today. The three items I tried to return were 2 x £7.00 and 1 x £4.00 (£18.00 total less 30% = £12.60) the assistant tried to refund me £8.40 which I thought was wrong as the £7.00 items with 30% off should be £4.90 each (£9.80) and the £4.00 item £2.80 (correct refund was offered on this one). Despite asking for another assistant to look at it they kept saying 'the till says' so I came away without a refund and was going to phone Customer Services later.

Any ideas? I have for some time thought that M&S refunds are wrong but this time it seems more obvious.

This is my problem today as well.

Ive left a message on twitter, no response.

I left a message on facebook which they didn't read, finally asked for my order number. I don't have an order number as I am trying to order and not getting anywhere.

I've been ringing all day using the sayno number 0114 452 1317 and getting no response. Literally all day

Its only a small order of 3 items and I just want it delivered to store or free delivery ...

there is a new saynoto0844 tel number you can phone M&S 0208 090 9564 - I discovered that after wasting two hours phoning them on 0114... number

I wonder if they've been further discounted in the sale, and she was trying to refund you their current selling price?

Did you have your receipt from your online order? That should have been enough to show what you paid.

I did have the receipt which clearly showed £7.00 each item and then the discount off the lot at the bottom . They were adament that they could only refund what the till said even though it was obvious that I had only had 30% off each item and 30% off £7.00 did not equal the £2.80 they were trying to get me to accept. The items were not reduced any further as I checked. They tried to convince me that I must have had more discount on these two items yet the whole order was for school shirts and the same discount applied.

In the end I was as confused as them but I did know that my maths was correct - when I went to school 30% of £7.00 is £2.10 yet the till disagreed and said £4.20.

You're entitled to the refund of what you paid (less any dicount codes) they shouldn't even need the invoice as long as you have the order no.

You've actually got more rights buying on line under distance selling regulations.

Try speaking to customer services & letting em know what happened? Also; there's always a returns label in the parcel so you could try that way next time (though I'm not sure if that's free or if you have to pay p&p as I always return to store too as a lot quicker).

The label is prepaid postage, so free to send back via Royal Mail.
