They seem to have fixed the store delivery problem - unless I was ordering things that didn't upset their system ;)

Just tried to do another order and it won't let me collect from store. Home delivery is not convenient for me ( am never in!).
This really is not good enough, think M&S really don't care about their customers.

Me too, had to work out which items were causing the problem as it didn't say. Anyway, managed to check through to collect in store on a couple of items but the problem one is supposedly only available for home deliery - not paying for delivery when the order is less than 10 quid anyway!!

Still waiting for an order I paid for on Christmas Eve, had to have the home delivery option as it wasn't available to collect and then I got an email to say it's been delayed & still no word of it's whereabouts yet. I'm fully expectng to get another email saying they can't fullfill the order

I tried to place an order for delivery to store, but wouldn't let me have that option. I rang customer services, spoke to a very pleasant lady who said this was happening a lot due to their system being updated. She waited while I went through the order process, then asked for the order number and for me to confirm my details and told me she would have the £3.50 charge taken off and the items delivered to my home for free. I'd have been more than happy to have had store collection but am really pleased to get free home delivery. Thank you M & S.

i went the other day and there were only a couple of pounds off a lot of the trousers so will be waiting to see if there are further discounts as they aren't worth 25 quid in my opinion but 15 or so and they are

That happened to me, too. I had genuinely tried and tried, and rang once but gave up after 15 mins. Tried again the next day, and got put through almost straight away and had a really nice woman who assured me she'd keep an eye on my order after I gave her the number. I wonder if it's a coincidence that the time I waited 15 mins, I'd pressed 2 (for no) when asked if I would answer a customer satisfaction survey at the end of the call, the second time I pressed 1 (yes, do the survey) and got a really helpful person straight away....
OK - may be being too cynical. Anyway, very pleased with customer services and considering the weather, very pleased to get my stuff home delivered.

The problem with marks & Spencer is they refuse to LISTEN to their customers' wants. So good deal 123 you can go back and report to your boss THAT

I think the quality of clothes of M&S is better now compared before. Just my opinion.

Wonder why they are showing a downturn on like for like sales. Have you looked at clothes from next, top shop or even primark!!
Regarding the clothes , they will never excel in quality again, as most of their stock is mass produced abroad (as are most high street stores). They used to have they edge with customer services, but even that is now low priority to them.
  • I ordered from M & S last night and it wouldn't let me checkout using the 'Collect from store' option either. However, I phoned up and spoke to a very helpful lady who waited on the phone as I placed my order and then she took the delivery charge off.
I'm very impressed with the customer service, even if the website is often behind the times!

  • I remember a time a few years ago when I was constantly eyeing up dresses from M&S - lovely designs, good quality, and a wonderful fit on me. Their more expensive dresses were perfect for work. Now I find that while the fit is still good, there's hardly any designs that I like, and as a result I'm buying significantly fewer dresses. Quality wise, the structure of the dresses seem comparable, but design styles are cheaper (prints vs. embroidery/applique, for example) and less appealing. Though I might have just got lucky with the few I've purchased recently. There also seem to be generally fewer "smart" styles, with much more emphasis on casual day dresses.

I eagerly looked through the sale and couldn't find a single dress I wanted to buy. Very disappointing!
