Emailed them yesterday asking for refund re postage as I couldnt get delivery to store and they have flatly refused. When I get the £14 worth of goods I will return to shop get a refund and refund for postage . Shot themselves in the foot again.
why not just cancel the order?
i doubt you'd ever get a refund for delivery instore
if they sent it via courier you might be able to refuse the delivery but once again i don't think you can claim postage costs back.
also, did you personally contact them about refunding the delivery? just because they said that to one person don't assume its a blanket policy for all. i've been caught out before on the sun+ offer and if i had personally contacted them to confirm i'd be getting it (so it would be noted on my account) instead of assuming i would just because others who had glitches and contacted them said all would get it, i'd received my morrisons voucher instead of customer services saying i didn't use link 2 weeks down the line.....
just out of curiousity, did you do multiple deliveries or all items in one order?
if i find sale items i want and know theres limited amount in sizes i usually checkout quickly for instore delivery. theres no min spend to get free store collection so it doesn't matter if i do several orders i usually get all my items. its annoying once your ready to checkout to find items no longer available0 -

I have just spoken to CS as I wanted to place a very small value order and as usual was being charged delivery. These are items usually available for store collection, ie. tags and wrapping paper. I have, this week, been successful five times to have charges refunded after delivery, but thought I'd better check again in view of recent posts. I placed my order over phone and the person I spoke to removed the delivery charge which he confirmed was glitch in system to do with them changing their systems. I would persist in asking for refund, either before or after delivery, and take it further if refused.“Rain drops are not the ones who bring the clouds.”0 -

Have tried again over phone for refund and was successful this time. Told they are refurbishing one of the depots so volume of goods being delivered to store has got to be reduced. 0845 numbers are a fiddle and I will not be phoning them again.0 -
I don't like shopping at M&S as much as I used to because the quality of their men's clothing has really slipped in my opinion. Several years ago, I purchased some expensive mens socks and after one wash, the cotton shrunk and the socks were more suited for a child.
This past week, I got a Marks gift voucher from a relative and decided to buy some mens underwear. The price was a hefty £17.00 for three trunks and they immediately did not fit. It was marked the right size, but the back rode too low and the elastic at the legs was way too tight. The cotton was cheap and flimsy and I took the other two unworn pairs and gave them away to Oxfam.
In all honesty, I can find better quality t-shirts and mens underwear at Sainsbury's TU or ASDA George.
I was going to buy a Sartorial dress shirt, but I have changed my mind and am looking at John Lewis instead.
It's easy to see why John Lewis sales are going up and M&S is headed for the tank.0 -
Just rang Customer Services after difficulties with the store collection option and was offered free home delivery straight away, so this saves my husband a trip to store during his dinner hour one day this week so we are both happy:)0

A start of new hopes and new beginnings.Since this thread is about Mark and Spencer, what are you expecting from this company this 2014? (especially with their bargains and sales..

Errm - deliverys that are actually received?
Delivery's available to store rather than having to pay for home delivery!!
I never used to shop in M&S until a few years ago but I like them a lot now; I used to find them old fashioned & frumpy but they have some lovely clothes now & I think their adverts with Twiggy & Co (particularly Christmas ones) over the last few years have done them a world of good & gained them a lot of new customers.
I would rarely pay full price for any item of clothing from M&S though as I think they are highly inflated but I do like to treat myself to their clothes in the sale - particularly when it's final reductions!

The boys star wars onsies are now £11 instead of £24 if anyone is interested and some baby things are reduced to 2 and 4 pounds
hope this helps 0 -

When you get an 0845 number go onto https://www.saynoto0870, search for an alternative number by putting this number in and most of the time it finds a regional number which for many of us is free with the phone systems now. Fab website and I use it often as I really do grudge the cost of those calls.
Back to M&S - I placed an order for Store delivery last night and, like many others, got the message to say that one item was not available for store delivery and that I would have to use home delivery. I thought I would go through the motions for home delivery and, on the advice of others on here, contact them to explain what happened and try to get them to refund the £3.50. When I had tried a couple of times for store collection and chose 2 different dates, I then clicked for home delivery and it added £3.50 then had a minus £3.50 so I did get free home delivery. Not sure why this happened but maybe they have fixed whatever problem they are having by offering free home delivery once you try to get a store delivery unsuccessfully. I checked and it's still only free if you order £150 or more. Sometimes they put special offers on where it is free for over £30 but not at the moment. Just in case this helps anyone else.
It is so frustrating also when you have various items removed from your basket. I wish M&S and other companies would at least let you have items in your basket for a couple of hours before they could be removed as it takes you ages going through everything when there is a sale on.

Grump!
Just had a look at the trousers I bought for £25 down from £45 and they're £20 now!
Modern slim leg black cotton velvet - well tailored and the fabric is really lovely, such good quality (sorry, can't post link.)
Bought a jacket in beautiful fabric too, but that's gone OOS now.
My total order would have qualified for the extra 10% but had technical problems with site so had to split in two orders. Very late Christmas eve so emailed customer services... and I'm still waiting for an answer... :rotfl:0
