Get well soon Tracy
This is "schedule change season" as lots of flights change a bit from end of March with all the US carriers-sometimes it can be a good way to "improve" on what you originally booked. American did it to us one year and I rejected what they offered and switched to an overnight LAS to JFK arriving at 8am and a JFK LHR at 7pm . We had a fab day in Manhattan and finally got around to doing the Duck tour....and we certainly slept well on the flight home !
As we didn't want to be "homeless" for the day-we booked a night at Imperial Palace as was for something daft like $10 -I walked the bags down from the Flamingo at 8am and checked in-it was really only a place to dump the bags and shower as we didn't lneed to leave the Strip til 9ish-no-one batted an eyelid when we checked out at 9,30pm on the night of our reservation. (Didn't need a "home" in NYC as we rechecked our bags at JFK before heading into the city -couldn't check them through from Vegas as it was such a long gap)
I've also done the same thing to get a day in Chicago -(which also has an excellent airport to downtown rail link).I Would Rather Climb A Mountain Than Crawl Into A Hole

hi everyone, just a heads up that the Scoot City Red Rock Canyon tour is currently on Groupon. It's not quite the 2-for-1 as before, but still a good deal and a fantastically fun way to spend a half-day!

Paris buffet is back on Groupon after being sold out then disappearing for a while

Well the trip from hell continues:(
Will be our last night tonite and Tracy is still laid up in bed. Had to take her back to doctors because she wasn't improving, more meds. 11 nights and only been out twice. Been going stir crazy watching telly every night.
Insurance won't cop for anything because it was just an illness and not medical emergency. If I had taken her to hospital and they spent thousands doing tests and pumping her intravenously with meds they would have paid for it, but not the few hundred for doctors visits. I will know for next time that's for sure.
We found the source of her flu. It was the hotel valet that picked us up from the airport. I asked where he was because I hadn't seen him lately and was told that he had been sick for a couple of days before we got there, now he's off ill as well.
And to top it off I just lost a big contract that would have kept me busy for 6 months renovating Lincoln Cathedral to a rival company because the client unexpectedly wanted the price in a week earlier than he first said.
Can't wait to get home now.The common law of business balance prohibits paying a little and getting a lot. If you deal with the lowest bidder, it is well to add something for the risk you run, and if you do that you will have enough to pay for something better.0 -
oh no...so sorry to hear all that, stoneman...I was thinking about you guys earlier and hoping that Tracy had improved. Do you think she will be OK to fly tomorrow?Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?0

I'm sorry to hear your woes. Are you sure they wont cover your bills? I was taken ill out there. I went to a Dr and was given a prescription for antibiotics. Came to $140 in total. When I got home I claimed on my insurance and got it back minus £50 excess. Make sure you keep all prescription medicine labels as they will ask for copies of the labels. Being ill in Vegas is NO fun. I was travelling alone too. My poor friend out there had to take time out of his work day to ferry to the Dr etc.0 -

Thanks.
She has to be, I will drag her on the plane myself, I don't want to be out here 1 day longer than I need to.The common law of business balance prohibits paying a little and getting a lot. To be honest it was me reading the terms of the policy. But as we have a £99 excess, by the time I put in the claim for everything i would only get back about £250 anyway, so not worth our policy going up for the next few years.
Tamiflu is the killer prescription. If anyone gets flu and your doctor prescribes it, don't bother with it. Costs about $150 and only makes you feel sick all the time. Has had zilch effect and the doctor wanted her to buy it again. The common law of business balance prohibits paying a little and getting a lot.
