Some light Vegas amusement and playing spot-the-location, the film "Last Vegas" is worth watching. Centred on the Aria Hotel, but lots of views of the strip etc.

Agreed, saw the film on Saturday and having stayed at the Aria in October - I wish in their suite! - it was great, the film is also very funny and enjoyable

Anybody happen to make a note of the email address for the Aria, in terms of the best rate guarantee department ?
It was posted earlier last year, but I didn't make a note of it....
Want to email them in advance to see if they will do a deal, as I know someone posted on here earlier last year saying they got a deal against LowCostUsa.co.uk

Found the info, was some guy who posted the email response about price matching against Quickrooms.com (who no longer deal with MGM group), but didn't include the email address!
    grrrrrrrrrrrrrrr :D

We don't go until May 19th, but i'm itching to book something!!!! :D
  • just noticed that my 'reserved' posts on the front page have been reinstated (thanks Crabman!), so will get populating them again. had hoped to do it over the weekend, but the posts had disappeared!

as the posts come online, please do feel free to PM any corrections or updates, I'm not precious about it! I don't go as often as many on here, so some info maybe outdated! (particularly car hire stuff, might need someone to update that!)

But I'm going through and checking all the links, updating as much info as I can... and some new stuff to add too :)

Thanks to secretmachines, the thread looks slicker every year!!

Jus an FYI - I had a notification of change of flight times a few weeks ago for our May Thomas Cook flight from Manchester. Now out at 09:15 and back at 13:55. This makes the long day on the outward journey even longer....

I had the very same email, I actually prefer it as we get to Vegas 2hrs early (a fuller first day) and come back earlier (which is fine as the last day is alot of hanging about anyway).
Currently saving and planning for the holiday of a lifetime to Vegas in summer 2014!

5 Nights @ Flamingo -> 1 Night @ Lake Mead -> 2 Nights @ The Grand Canyon -> 3 Nights @ The Mirage -> And Finally... 1 Night @ The Salone Fountain View Suite, Bellagio

    Decent reward available on MyVegas......

only 1500 for a room at the Mirage for $42 (plus resort fee) - only certain dates but worked well for our trip - one night booked on my account and one on the wife's.

Within Mlife account the best rate I could see was $90 plus resort fee so better than half price for just 1500 'gold'.

Just an update to say that this redemption actually allows you to book up to three nights, so when I called Mirage I was able to book both nights for one 1500 redemption. Will cancel the other one tomorrow.

could try emailing the same person in that post, if you wanted to be really cheeky.
Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?

Does anyone have any thoughts or advice on staying at the Monte Carlo? I am looking for a 11 night stay around 7-8 September.

I have been to Vegas back in 2008 and seem to recall that MC was quite nice but I have no idea of what the rooms are really like so if anyone has any experience I would be interested to hear.

LowcostUSA are coming out loads cheaper at the moment than booking direct (almost half the price when you add on the resort fees) so its whether I hang on and wait to see if the prices reduce on the direct website.

If anyone has any other suggestions please say. I will be travelling with my best friend ( both female, 30's) so would need 2 x queen beds. Am also open to splitting the stay into 2 different hotels.

    Many thanks in advance.

Thank you to all competition posters
  • I have never stayed at Monte Carlo, but am booked there for my trip in June. Reviews seem generally pretty good, the location is good and it's fairly accessible in getting to other parts of the Strip. It won't be the fanciest hotel by any means but it looks pretty nice by my standards!

Both - stayed MC in November.

Was absolutely fine - they are currently renovating the front area which spoils it a tad however they are making fast progress. It will not spoil anything for you that's for sure.

Location and price were the winners for me (no resort fee through British Airways). You can walk out the back to the tram which goes to Crystals shopping center and then Bellagio and its free. From the Bellagio you can hit all the big ones for a tour around.

Casino was nice. There are some nice restaurants although I just quite liked the bar at the front with the sofas - great to watch people wander in and those at the tables. They do a very good mojito.
Pool area wasn't huge but I think I recall some of it being closed off.

The Pub in the MC is great. Every beer you can think of is on tap and they do tasting trays. Their chicken wings are superb and there is sport everywhere and duelling pianos at the weekend.

Rooms were comfy and, as with most things in Vegas, spacious.
