    - What is the weather like for November?
    - Does it tend to be busy in November or relatively quiet?

We are thinking of going from November 2nd- Friday 6th 2015

Agree that it can fluctuate quite a lot but averages by day (and record highs and lows) are here

We used to go early November every year and always liked it - we don't like hot weather and it suited us quite well.
Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?

Photome - I think Ballys might be a winner. It will be somewhere to sleep and to hang around the pool a bit. We'll be out and about and in the other hotels/casinos most of the time.
Can you pay to use other hotel pools?
Unless someone cn find something better for £300 for four nights inc a fri and sat night in mid sept.

To be honest we've got no interest in Disneyland or universal studios. But if there are big roller coasters somewhere that would be fun.
I'd quite like to see a tv show being filmed. We saw the daily show in New York while we were there.

I'm starting to think more time in Death Valley or Grand Canyon would suit us more and a wizz around the sights and an afternoon at the beach/griffin park in LA would be enough. I'm not a huge shopper - but Gap/Forever 21 at US prices does excite me.
If you like big rollercoasters check out 6 flags magic mountain, 40 mins from LA.

Also Griffith Park and observatory, Nethercutt Museum, and Petersen Automotive Museum are free or nominal fee and a really good.

If you're going LA via death valley from Vegas you might want to also go via Lone pine or even stay at Lone Pine. We did this route but went on to Yosemite all in one long day. You'd just turn left at lone Pine to get to LA. It was a great drive but could have done with an overnight stay half way to see more.

    Hi all,

I'm going to Vegas in April with 7 friends for one week and was just wondering a few things.

Limos - What would be the average cost and where would you recommend booking (if they are worth the money) one from? We are looking at booking one from the airport to the hotel taking in the strip along the way. We are staying at the Luxor.

Thomas Cook - does anyone know if drinks are available for free or the cost on board their flights to Vegas? Is an upgrade worth the money, and what cost, if anyone has done it before.

I've been searching activities to do whilst we're there for the last few days and have been amazed at just how much there is. I don't know where to start!

I can't help with the rest, but the Luxor is at the airport end of the strip so you'd see very little of it on a standard airport transfer. If you really want to do a limo ride, I'd suggest booking it one night during your stay - perhaps taking it from Mandalay Bay (next to Luxor) to the Wynn, which would run the entire length of the interesting bit of the strip. But you're looking at at least $100 plus tip for it, I personally think they're overrated.

Not sure if I can name names on here, but I booked a round trip with presidential limos to/from airport to Flamingo. They took me from the bottom of the strip, past the flamingo and up past the mirage, then round the back of the hotels back to the flamingo. Might be worth giving them a look, as i'm sure if you emailed them, or any other vegas limo company they would be happy to drive off strip to the wynn, and then give you a tour down it.

We booked with Presidential Limos from the airport to the hotel, but requested a one hour tour rather than a hotel transfer which was about the same price.

However be aware that the limo companies normally count the start of your time as the arrival time of the aircraft and not when you actually board the limo.

Not everyone wants to faff around in a carhire line ...the nice bit about the limo is the walk out of the airport and straight into your car ......also it's not a lot of fun driving an unfamiliar car on the wrong side of the road if you've had a long flight or worse got delayed.

I've always thought the cheapest way to do this would be in a taxi -nothing to say you can't tell them you want to go down the Strip -it's all metered anyway.
