We walked around the wetlands park this morning. It's a very quiet and tranquil spot at the Far East end of Tropicana Ave. If you fancy a change if pace from the casinos but don't want to drive too far, this is a good option.

thanks for this - I saw you mentioned it on Facebook and meant to look into it and forgot. It looks interesting and maybe something for the list for March, and there are geocaches there. :)

When are you going in March.

We are there from the 2nd for 9 nights.

we arrive on the 18th so will miss you by a week. I am a bit anxious about spring break and March Madness...I hope that we didn't get too sucked in by the Virgin reward seat sale and end up regretting our dates. We'll have my in-laws with us and are planning on getting out and about during the days so hopefully the crowds won't be that bothersome.

Had to laugh at your choice of machines, we are not lucky on slots but the ones we have had the worst luck on are in your list.

    Willy Wonka

    Walking dead

and any colossal reel game we tried but particularly Spartacus
    :rotfl:

I hate WW - never win a thing on it, either of us...it looks like it must be fun when you get a bonus round but we never have. I think we officially decided last trip we will never play it again. :)

Colossal reel games...I dislike some of them intensely (Lil Red, particularly)...but have had some luck on others including Spartacus...but they seem to be really volatile machines and can take your initial stake in a flash with very little play for your money. Whatever the one with the elephants is is my favourite, I always seem to get bonus rounds on that one.

There is a new Star Trek one that was really good fun...maybe it's not officially Colossal Reels but it's similar in some ways...sort of. Played it at Cosmo and saw it somewhere downtown, maybe other places.

I also had a good bonus round win on one of these at Aria - Hot Hot Penny 2, didn't notice it anywhere else

    Hi all,

51 more days and we're on our way, I am sure it will fly! It is slowly coming together, after a slow start of no planning. JT tickets booked, Britney as well thanks to a good friend, no shows as yet, but considering a little gamble on the new Wynn show. Although maybe worth waiting a bit to see the reviews?

Anyway, I am guessing popular restaurants book out for New Years Eve quickly. But I am reluctant to book early as most no doubt will have set menus. Does anyone here have any suggestions? We will be staying at the Mirage for NYE, so needs to be close (ish), one option we've looked at was Heritage steak at the Mirage. We expect anything that night to be expensive, and not MSE at all.

Also, does anyone know about how you can buy tickets to be at the top of the Eiffel Tower for NYE? I am guessing the view will be awesome (Linq is crazy price unless you are a big group..) and would be worth it?

Thanks as always for your help :)

The tower was the only thing i regretted about my whole Vegas trip, really hated it and felt ripped off lol

Mix lounge in Mandalay bay was by far the best view of Vegas, it also become my fav bar in the world lol, NYE I expect that to be packed out thou!!

We went at 5pm, it was free and watched the sunset over Vegas and the lights all turn on, with free champagne randomly from the manager! Magic.

:( I need to go back now lol

Well we are booked! 9 of us going to LV on 29th July 2015! Our trip is nearly 3 weeks long, though about 10 days of this in in Anaheim in LA seeing family and Disneyland! Can't wait.

We booked in the BA Sale and travelling business class, total price for 9 of us, just shy of £10K!

Looking at hotels, any recs for kids? We like the look of MGM grand.......

Thanks for that 21yrold! We have actually never made it to the Eiffel Tower, considered Mandalay and House of Blues, but staying at the Mirage, it would be a long way back to the hotel :( Will have to check it out though on our last night, as Hubby just booked our last night there using MyVegas. Anyone here been to Vegas of NYE and have some good tips?

Just booked again and sooo excited!

Leaving on NYE, which I'm a bit worried about as we don't get in till 6.30pm vegas time and last year all the roads to the strip were crazy busy. Flying from Glasgow via Heathrow, first time in years we've gone this way and not cleared customs somewhere else before getting to Vegas but it was much cheaper (and hubby's holidays were limited to dates)

We said we prob wouldn't do NYE again after last year as it was a been there done it kind of thing but the dates worked and we're going to CES (hubby is a gadget freak!) so thought why not. Will prob do the same as last year as can't imagine we'll make it up all night after the flight, so will just grab something to eat then head to a casino then out onto the strip for the fireworks.

So far have booked: 2nd/3rd at Aria as had a free comp and 6 free MyVegas nights with Mandalay Bay from 8th to 14th - just need to book all the rest now inc NYE! Trying to do it as cheap as poss...but that never really seems to happen - and currently trying to convince hubby to stay last 3 nights in a cosmo wraparound (can get it for around £450 with cash back and 2 hotels.com credits hmmm)

And have $380 in social rewards credits between us so far and all the station casinos free buffets from MyVegas so that all counts as money saving doesn't it?!

Thanks for all the trip reports - keeps my obsession alive!

This will be our very first trip so feeling a little unsure but looking forward to it.

We are trying to make a list of places to visit so we make the most of our days there. We plan to visit Fremont Street and wondered if any of you lovely people who have been before us can tell us the best way to get there from the strip.

We have also booked a trip to the Canyon and to see Jersey Boys.

Any other ideas would be good too :)
