Hi all,
For those of you who like to go to Vegas in March - when have you found is the best time to book your flights in terms of cheapest price?
I know the flights are released 11 months beforehand - so, bookable April the previous year. Have any of you found it beneficial to wait and book either 5 months in advance (as experts suggest, ie October of the previous year) or even wait till any possible sales in December?
I have never been in March before and obviously, wanted to get some advice from those of you who have. I would really appreciate any help.
When I used to travel in June, I always booked in December the previous year - that is when I found prices to be lowest - but that is peak holiday season and March isn't, so I guess it will be different.
Also, has anyone been to Vegas during Spring Break - is it awful? I think the dates we have to go will be early March 2016 smack bang in the middle of spring break (I think!):hello:My name is Steff and I am a Vegas Addict :j0 -
Looking at flights for July next year. When is the best sort of time to buy? When they first get released or waiting for the sale? We are probably looking at Virgin as first choice if that makes a difference. Just the only other time we have booked flights direct ourselves to vegas we used airmiles so not sure what to do this time
Hi, been to Vegas a few times in July, but haven't been since 2012 now. It used to be that if you flew on 29 June it made quite a big difference to the fare, so if you can, try that. I always booked before January of the year you want to go, usually in December, I did get some amazing deals all lower that £1k for two, but we never flew with Virgin - perhaps someone else may be able to help with that specific airline.
Good luck!:hello:My name is Steff and I am a Vegas Addict :j0 -
Did someone mention they may go Hofbrauhaus? (Lesley?)
Here's a link for a free beer in August anyways if it's of use...

This could be deemed "easier said than done", but from the pictures of the Vegas one (I've never been there), I'd say the original one in Munich is a million times better0 -

Spring break spans a long period but some weeks are a lot busier than others - this gives an idea how the number vary by week:

But it's also March Madness (US university basketball tournament takes place each March) so some periods will bring in even more people. We have been before and it wasn't terrible - but we don't spend much time doing a lot of the things the younger folk do (pools, clubs)...we are going to bring my in-laws to Vegas again next year and mid-March would be perfect as a birthday falls in that window, but the added crowds are making us think that maybe we will push it to April.
As for flights we normally just book during a sale and are done with it.Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?0 -
You see in the news today about some 17yr old D!ckhead in Vegas (british idiot that is)
Called in a Bombscare for the MGM...
Doh!
I hope the US throw him in Sacremento jail for 2yrs, getting bummed everyday for 2 years should make him think twice about doing bomb hoax's, especially in current climate, etc ! (which would require extraditing him mind!)

For anyone else effected, BA have cancelled their winter flights from Gatwick direct to Vegas; heathrow flights are still operating, so BA should be able to accommodate anyone wanting a re-route. If you haven't yet been notified it is worth getting in touch with BA to be ahead of the queue.
We are flying Glasgow via Gatwick on 25th November, but no e mail or telephone call yet so fingers crossed.
We are back on the 2nd December via Heathrow instead of a cancelled (several months ago) Gatwick flight down to a timetable change of 1 hour at McCarran, interestingly flight times are back to where they were when I first booked.
It took me 2 hours last time around to reschedule as the customer service desk was constantly busy and we were queued only to get cut off twice :mad:0 -
Route is cancelled from December 2nd to March 2nd so you should be fine.
If you're ever unsure, I think checking your booking online would indicate it's current status. Could be wrong!0 -

Thanks for that. My husband has restricted holidays at his workplace and the dates we are looking to go are 7/3/16-17/3/16. We will avoid March Madness, but Spring break in 2016 (I think) will be during those dates. We are no longer clubbers, so that wont be an issue really. We could go early April, but from looking at 2015 flights prices, they seem to shoot up.
We are only going in March to keep costs down - if cost weren't an issue, we would be going in July as usual (as we both adore the heat) and I realise that March may be a bit chilly! Have you ever been that early in March? I have obviously checked weather for that time of year, but its unpredictable and most of pools are closed, so it will be a completely different holiday in Vegas than we are used to! Still, I think I would prefer returning to Vegas than a normal winter sun holiday anywhere else!:hello:My name is Steff and I am a Vegas Addict :j0
