The Venetian had it pretty bad, it was one of the major departure and arrival points for the busses to take the revellers out to the main event.
We had a few of them in the Platinum but they were a great crowd.
I'm surprised you had any by the pool, wouldn't have thought they would be up and about during the day.

They arrived on the Wednesday afternoon so had a couple of days hanging around until the first rave, which I think was the Friday night.

They were fine really, just really loud, which was a complete contrast to the noise before they arrive. I couldn't understand how such a big hotel could be really quiet.

No other complaints on the hotel really other than the energy saving light bulbs in the rooms lol

    Hi all,

    I'm back :D

I've been trying to lay low recently and avoid the vegas chat..but its beaten me lol

Me and the GF are planning to go back next Aug, its pretty hard to find deals for Aug 2015 as it stands lol

We are thinking of stopping at Mandalay bay, i know its far out but seems to have the best pool area ( we want a relaxing holiday) well as much as we can haha

We were going to be going to europe for a week all inclusive but anything half decent is like £800 and i cant justify that for a holiday which is £400 any other time of the year, so we are now going back to vegas lol

Any tips for booking flights or hotels early? Last time we use lowcostusa and direct flights atm with Virgin are coming up at 1k each, we dont mind 1 stop ie Philly last time for us but direct if possible, literally any date in Aug.

    Nice to catch up :D

Flights for next Aug are not released until sep this year (330 days in advance I believe)

I love Mand Bay, pool is great rooms are great but it is just to far away for me and it is often expensive although deals can be had you just have to keep checking smartervegas etc a lot nearer the time.

I assume you are aware it is HOT HOT HOT in Aug, it was 115 last time I was there in Aug, way to hot to lay by the pool for me

We are going to do the nascar drive next time, they were doing that while we
were waiting and it looked awesome

It is, I did it at Daytona several years ago. Looking forward to the Muscle car challange now, we are doing it 21st September.
I have a Drift course and a high speed course booked in the UK before then so a lot of high speed driving to get in :-)

so would you say just book the flights then sort the hotel out closer to the time, see if we can get a deal...we kinda wanna be away from the centre, stayed in Paris last year and was good just not to much lazying around which we want a bit more of haha!!

Well the GF is a teacher so it restricts us on that front :(

We are waiting to book our flights for next August. Should be able to do it first week of September I think.
Last year we stayed at The Hotel so used pool at Mandalay Bay which was lovely. Was very hot but think we managed to sit out in it for a few hours. Think we paid £3600 for our direct flights. That was 2 adults 2 children. That's the downfall of having to go in the school holidays!!

Everything booked in world record time here !... can't believe it, normally takes us months!

Out of 23 nights, we are only paying for 2 in Copenhagen, 1 in San Diego, 1 in Death Valley, 1 in St.George, 1 in Bryce Canyon and 6 in the Platinum so happily within budget :)

3 nights free in San Diego courtesy of the SPG credit card
2 nights free in Aria courtesy of myVegas
4 nights free in Harrahs courtesy of CET
(plus resort fees / tax where applicable)

Also booked a whale watching tour in San Diego (Groupon), Rose Rabbit Lie (Travelzoo?), Muscle Car Challenge and Envy (Travelzoo).

We've got a car for 13 nights too.

I think I can rest now and wait till the holiday - cheapest, but possibly longest trip yet (... though I'll still have half an eye open for hotel deals just in case we can swap out Harrahs - though the rooms look good, the pool looks naff!! :D )

That's quite a booking frenzy!! Can't comment on Harrah's as we've never stayed there. Can you stay at any CET property for free (well the ones around that price), or is it specifically Harrah's? I'd recommend the Rio if you get a chance. We really like it there. Pools are nice there too. Might not be an option, you you may have other reasons not to.

23 nights is a long trip for someone who said they weren't going this year :rotfl:
