I have recently come back from 4 nights at the venetian and for the last 2 days, the hotel was overtaken by ravers who were there for the EDC rave. They were an absolute nightmare. Extremely loud and extremely drunk all the time!! They made the pool area unbearable. They spent the entire time chanting "EDC" in football hooligan style! Has anyone else encountered them?

Not encountered them but would like to if the pics are anything to go by.
Vegas is a party town and most weekends you will find drunken partys in most hotels, and pools, some weekends are worse than others depending on whats going on at the time0 -

This is true, which is why I went from Monday to Friday lunchtime. I just didn't expect the weekend to start on Wednesday

My first choice is to use Dollar and return to TI.I also think I must be super paranoid to want a second driver on the car. I think of emergencies, however I can't get hubby to drive at home so can't see him driving abroad.0

Can I ask what hotel you picked in Laughlin Lesley and have you stayed there before? We are considering stopping here as part of our trip next year.
We have chosen Aquarius and have taken a river view of some sort. Panoramic or something I think it is called. It was inexpensive. Around $50 maybe. Could have got Harrah's around the same price, but it's a bit far out. We are only there one night and wanted to be central/convenient for other places for a wander at night. And it's so hot there for walking outside!
We have been in Lauglin for a day before. We parked at the Riverside and walked up by the river stopping in some casinos along the way. We then had a buffet at Aquarius and it was fine. We then went back and got the car to go to Harrah's and also the Outlets. You will laugh when I say it was too hot to cross the road to the outlets. I'm sure it was around 115 degrees and humid. Quite unbearable. Probably the hottest I've ever encountered. I kept asking the locals how they could live there. You'd think I'd like a bit of heat being from Scotland :rotfl:0 -
Please let me know if you see Hertz offered up by anyone as you scour for prices. On quick glance, they appear to be based in the majority of strip hotels, but don't appear on CH3000.
I used to do the same but it's never occurred, and over the past few years have just thought if I need cover, I'll try and just arrange it at the time. Although that's presumably dependant on being at a Dollar location
Hertz aren't jumping out at me, but I'll keep an eye out. I think the insurance concern is probably pointless. Fine if included free but doesn't seem worth paying for.
I think we're going to go with the ebookers deal, think it's got 3 more days quidco so I better do it tomorrow.0 -
Hi folks, sorry I haven't been able to post lately, got back on Monday and had to go Tuesday away to work. Should settle down by the weekend and will do the TR.
As for the muscle car challenge it was great, not as long as you would think. There were 6 of us doing it and from the time we had the briefing to finishing was about an hour and a half.
I did a couple of utube videos which I'll post later in my TR.
Don't worry about the heat, while you are not driving you are under cover with plenty of water and misters, as well as aircon fans.
Pig sick about the price drop, we paid $450 for the 2 of us with the registration fee.
We are going to do the nascar drive next time, they were doing that while we were waiting and it looked awesome.
BTW 4.2 secs 0-60 and 135mph on the back straight for me in the Shelby MustangThe common law of business balance prohibits paying a little and getting a lot. If you deal with the lowest bidder, it is well to add something for the risk you run, and if you do that you will have enough to pay for something better.0 -

We had a few of them in the Platinum but they were a great crowd.
I'm surprised you had any by the pool, wouldn't have thought they would be up and about during the day.The common law of business balance prohibits paying a little and getting a lot. Saw Calvin Harris in the Samsonite shop at premium outlets south buying a really hideous orange suitcase.
Overheard him talking to the sales guy about his schedule "set at EDC, helicopter to MGM to do Hackasan, then 2 days in LA doing private gigs for Microsoft, then onto NY for a couple of gigs, then to Uk for a PA, then back to Vegas"The common law of business balance prohibits paying a little and getting a lot.
