Was at Vdara in May, checked out on 11th, credit card bill arrived with transactions up to 16th, the expected resort fees weren't on it!!
I'm hoping we've got away with it, booked via Travel Republic, fully expected to be charged as it said we would be
(not recommending Travel Republic as the room price went up after the booking was 'confirmed' however no resort fees will make up for that)

I don't know if anyone has looked at this website before?
I think it's quite good for research, you can select a hotel, then a floor, then a room and check out the view from that room from 4 different angles. I found it useful to look at prior to travelling, I wanted a low floor last trip at Vdara so was useful to know that I needed a room on the pool side to have any view!
Seems to work ok for Vdara, Cosmo and PH (via links on RH side of page) but they have 'room plans' for others so you may be able to get them to work!!?:

Not sure prices will come down any time soon as it's so popular.
They may be worth it but I think I will wait a few years for better offers, the mid price seats even on offer are about £100 each :eek:.
We are not that much into shows, altho I fancy the motown show at the Riviera, its a very small theatre and is about $30/£20 a ticket :T:T:T0 -
Photome, check your PM's.
We went to forever DooWop at Riviera. It was a good show, especially for the money. We planned to go to the Motown one too, but ran out of time. (Don't laugh!)0 -
Harmon Tower is being dismantled. Expensive job by the looks of it.

Hi All
I'm going to vegas in a couple of weeks and want to go and see celine dion can anyone advise the best place to get tickets ?
Thanks in advance !0 -
Thanks Ferf - we liked PH's casino too which is why we plumped for a room there when we saw the good rate ($218 for 4 nights from 31/8 exc resort fee) but I think Mirage may win out. Mirage is currently coming in approx £80-£100 more overall for the same nights but hopefully this may come down nearer the time.
It's really hard to know if it would be worth the extra to you...I think moving to a different part of the Strip is nice...though we have moved from Paris to Cosmo before so...:)
The packaging on the toiletries at Mirage was great, we thought...not that that makes it worth staying there.
The other thing is the location of the rooms at Mirage...it was a loooooong haul from reception to the lifts...ridiculously long compared to others (including PH) - probably shorter than some but it was the longest haul we've ever had so it seemed to take forever...in that respect it wasn't great. Overall I am not sure we would stay at Mirage again, we have others we prefer...but if we had to choose between PH and Mirage based on a HH room at PH it would be Mirage every time.Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?0 -
Doesnt seem to be much discount on MJ tickets, still to expensive for me
It is expensive but we thought it was worth it...though it was a bit painful buying the tickets without a discount.
In general, and we do spend a lot of our time in Vegas gambling, if we want to see a particular show and we're quite keen on it...we consider how the cost of tickets compares to potential losses during a 2-hour window in the casino...usually we can then justify the ticket price...in the case of MJ only just.
we thought we might go see a concert at The Joint but were surprised by ticket prices at nearly $200 for the pair of us after fees for the main balcony (it's not an act we would have expected to be particularly expensive)...that's less than we paid for MJ, but MJ wasn't at Hard Rock and we knew MJ would have nice comfy seats and all that...in the end we decided it was just a little too much relative to what we were expecting to pay...even though it passed our 'how much could we lose?' test...so it's all absolutely relative.Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?0 -

You have it all wrong, think how much you would have won in that 2 hour window and then add that on to the cost of the tickets:rotfl:;)0
