I got $1.698 cash withdrawing in the US a couple of weeks ago. The best rate for buying in the UK according to ferf's link is $1.57. No brainer.
The monorail rewards doesn't count towards your 3 or 4 rewards.
I agree with you about using the ATM in USA Not sure where you saw $1.57 though, there isnt that much difference (would be good if there was). you can collect in London at around $1.66 at the moment and the rest of the UK just under $1.650 -
I got $1000 for £595 at a place in London a week or two ago which works out at like $1.68 per £1...great rate.
Will be withdrawing on my Clarity card over there though. Actually that's a question - are there any fee-free ATMs around the airport/Strip? If not then where are the machines with the lowest fees?0 -

Just tried this now to book Skyjump and it seemed to work. Happy days!0 -
I suppose some parts of the country the PO may be the best rate around, but not everywhere (certainly not in London).Just my 2penneth but the PO is never the best rate, and all things being equal it is bettter to withdraw cash in a US ATM as long as you have the best card/s
I guess it depends on how/where/when etc. I got an exchange rate of 1.65. My friends got around no more than 1.6. The currency exchanger at the airport was offering 1.5 and the one in vegas was offering 1.4.
My point was don't knock the PO.0 -
Does anyone know what's going on with Virgin at the moment? Looking to book my next trip out of Gatwick early next year and flights that were available last week are no longer available. I haven't dug too much to see if it's just related to the time of year but can't see more than about four flights per week around the dates I was looking at.
Can't see any announcement about a schedule reduction. But they are, of course, offering me plenty of Delta alternatives via Heathrow.
ETA: Fiddling with dates now throughout February and I'm struggling to even find a direct return at all, keeps routing via LAX>LHR with nothing into LGW. I hope they're not turning this into a seasonal route.0 -

Are you searching LGW to LAS? I see direct flights for Feb0 -

Sorry I should have said, that was for delivery including the fee. I was surprised at the difference too.
We are out in the sticks and 70 mile round trip from any of the places that came up for collection. The Post Office didn't show in the results, but I have just checked direct and they are showing $1.639.0 -

Yeah, I think the new Virgin engine was having a bit of a strop. It was only showing connecting flights through Delta on any date. But according to their schedule, there should be 4 flights per week. Still a significant change, but at least they exist.
ETA: The engine seems to be working today, and is blacking out a lot of dates as per the new schedule.0
