Thanks. We had our farewell dinner with Norm and Andrea yesterday and are just having an easy day today. To be honest I'm looking forward to being home for a little while. Never thought I'd say that!

Apologies, I have no idea how this offer actually rates as I'm out of touch on pricing, but aware a few people stated they don't seem to get the Restaurant.com emails:

This ticket and restaurant package by Restaurant.com's Nights Out in Las Vegas "reinvents the formula for an evening out in Vegas by shattering it," (Vegas Magazine). Experience the theatrical event "Vegas Nocturne" at Rose. Rabbit Lie. at the Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas. Packages are $79 and include a ticket and $50 eGift card by Restaurant.com (a package value of $206).

    Some T&C's of note:
There is a $3 processing fee per package.

Tickets will be set up for will call and held at The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas Box Office, 3708 Las Vegas Boulevard South, Las Vegas, NV 89109. Valid Photo ID must be presented when picking up tickets. Tickets must be picked up no later than 30 minutes prior to performance start time.

Seats are guaranteed to be together when in the same purchase. Seats assigned in rows in front or behind the same seats are considered together, but almost all seats are side by side including all pairs.

TSA per check for us at the airport. It went very swiftly, so now we are early for the flight home. At least ours is on time, the Gatwick flight is delayed.

Thank goodness for free WiFi at the airport.
  • For anybody wondering when CSI Vegas will return I just saw the trailer showing it will hit Channel 5 on Tuesday 3 June at 9pm.

This thread is great as we are going to be in Las Vegas for a couple of nights in August. I was wondering if anyone had any tips on using Myvegas points?

Husband has about 7000 left and I have about 54000. We have both booked 2 for 1 Cirque du Soleil tickets and we already have rooms at a fairly good price so I'm wondering what else is best to spend them on? Obviously a free room is better than a paid for one but I don't know if we could get more than one night with this amount of points. We are a family of 4 (2 adults & 2 kids) so I guess 2 for1 offers might be best value for us.

There is a money off voucher for the Avenue at MGM Grand that I was thinking about - has anyone eaten there? Would one of the buffets be a better option?
"Harry, I'm going to let you in on a little secret. Every day, once a day, give yourself a present. Don't plan it. Don't wait for it. Just let it happen. It could be a new shirt at the men's store, a catnap in your office chair, or two cups of good, hot black coffee."

    Hello

I am going to eggs in a couple of weeks and I wonder if anyone has any advise on how much spending money I will need? I am going for 4 nights. Hotel is booked and paid for. I want to go on the big wheel thing, but other than that I have no plans other than a bit of shopping and winning $1 million dollars on a machine

How much money should I allow for food for each day? I will probably have a buffet breakfast, very light lunch and a evening meal. Does anyone know how much the average buffet is? And how much should I allow for an evening meal? A burger or Italian?

I will be taking a credit card but would prefer to have enough cash to pay for everything I need rather than using the card.

Many thanks for any advice. I realise that the figure will depend on what type of restaurant I go to, but an idea would be lovely.

How long is a piece of string

Breakfast buffets start at abut $5 and go up to $30 ish

evening meal again from $5 to the skys the limit even for a burger meal.

IMO you should stick to a budget you are comfortable with.

If you only want to spend $50 to $100 a day thats easily doable if you want to spend ten times that, its also easily doable

I would be surprised if you will have 3 meals a day - the most we manage is 2 and some days we realise it's been 24 hours since we last had a meal of any description...portions are quite large and it's not difficult to over-indulge at a buffet and find that's pretty much all you'll want for quite awhile.

I agree with photome - budget for what you are comfortable with. There are a lot of good value/budget options out there and on up from there. Most restaurants have menus online with prices so you can get some ideas.

    http://www.lasvegasadvisor.com/buffets.cfm

lists buffet prices - and depending on which buffets you're interested their Member Rewards Book might be worth considering but for only 4 nights maybe it's not going to get enough use to justify the membership cost.

I'm actually surprised at the price of many breakfast buffets nowadays...we haven't been to a breakfast buffet for a few years (unless it was free via MyVegas) but don't remember them being quite that much...$22 for Paris seems quite a lot more than I remember (I swear it was about $14 last time we went)...with a voucher they may still be good value but for $22 we would probably think twice.
Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?

I agree, we never eat 3 meals really either, unless they are light meals/snacks.

As for buffets, you'd be hard pushed to find breakfast for under $10 on the strip. One day we just wanted a snack so went to Subway in Casino Royale (or O'Sheas?) and even that set us back about $20 for both of us. Off strip are some better values, like Orleans, Gold Coast, Stations etc. I must admit, I'm quite partial to breakfast buffet at Wynn. We take our time, they do lovely orange juice....and some really good quality items. It's not unreasonable if you consider if you were to buy those quality items in a cafe. We do class it as a treat though, and if we're at Platinum we would be making breakfast and maybe even lunch in the room some mornings too so it all balances out. We also get a LVA book and go out in the car and spend less on food while we're out off the strip so I feel we can justify the Wynn buffet because we enjoy it so much. :)

The most I eat for lunch is something like a bowl of soup and half a deli sandwich......$9.99 from memory in TI or Mirage.
