Just looking through the myriad of helicopter options. Have looked at papillon and sundance helicopters and getting confused. Some of the flights seem to take off from Buffalo City - is this standard?0

Most planes go from Buffalo City to South Rim. Most helicopters go from LAS to West Rim.illegitimi non carborundum0

I too can only see up to a bit later in May.
jadampc - how did you manage to book for June? What website was this on?
Hi Lesley, we booked on flythomascook.com on Monday this week. Prices now look to have gone up, the best dates I can see is May 18th to 25th, prices now for these dates are £1053 for 2 return flights. This is about £70 more than we paid for just the basics.
Unfortunately a lot of other dates have jumped up a fair bit and they did jump up £20 for us before we booked. With ThomasCook they might go back down though.
Hope this helps !0 -
I just tried a dummy booking with Thomas Cook from GLA. The dates only went up to 11 May. It initially showed the price as £487pp, but when I clicked through it went up to £1013 for 2 people with no indication what the extra was for.
There was no luggage included, just the option to add 20kgs for £56, 25kgs for £96 and also 30kgs. Meals could be added FOC.
Hi Wammer, when you posted it was the same for me, but I checked every couple of days as holidays were available for a lot of dates.
Luggage and food are now included on long haul, adding an extra case on the return was £50 well spent as we are always shopping

It depends on what you're used to, I think...but we hated our Hollywood Hip room even ignoring the issue with the goods lift running behind it. The bedroom area was very small relative to other Vegas hotels we have stayed in (the bathroom was quite large, though - to us it seemed an odd use of space), it was dark, little storage space, small window we had to shove a chair out of the way and bend down to look out of.
Relative to hotels in Europe the room was fine, but relative to other rooms in Vegas it's pretty much bottom of our list. We complained about the lift and were moved to a resort room which was great.
Hi Ferf, Thanks for the advice on the room, it does sound a bit on the small side and maybe a bit dark but it's early days with still a year to go. We stayed 2 nights Paris and 5 in the Bellagio and liked the location/shopping plus it was on the fast bus route. As its in June then a decent pool area might be a deciding factor.
We are going this November over Thanksgiving with BA for a week and staying in the Mirage, next June will be the 10th visit and a couple of times we've thought that this was our last Vegas trip0 -
I agree with everything ferf said about the PH rooms. We really liked them when it was still the Aladdin, but there is only storage space for clothes for a couple of nights. Any more than that and you have to live out of a suitcase.0

For the peanut butter M&M lovers.
On MyVegas you can get an additional pound of candy with the purchase of one pound at the Sugar Factory. The Sugar Factory has peanut butter M&Ms.They are more expensive than M&M World, but work out cheaper when you use the rewards to buy 2lbs.

I have found Walmart to be the best price for M and Ms0 -

Thanks Wammer, we prefer decent wardrobe space too especially as suitcases are for shopping just purchased
Mrs McP really fancies the Venetian/Palazzo having never stayed there,. I fancy hiring a car and going and staying at the Grand Canyon for a couple of nights (8 trips and we've never been near it) so we'll see.

If you're up for suggestions for other places to visit, albeit in a totally different direction, how about Zion National Park in southwestern Utah? IMHO it's magnificently beautiful."Such an enormous country, you realize when you cross it" - Jack Kerouac0
