The North outlets are better than the South outlets, although the South ones have improved.
You can get the SDX to the North and the Deuce to the South.

So excited - Just booked 2 CW to LAX where I plan to stay for 3 days then drive on down to Vegas for 10 whole days. Used my (just received) 241 companion voucher (ty AMEX) and most of my avios. As yet I do not have a return flight lol, just waiting for the CC release next week so I can exchange and book a flight back from Vegas!Thank you all who post.0

one of the coupons you will get is for a free discount booklet which you collect from the information office at the outlet (right by the taxi rank) ... this is on top of the coupons you can print out at home.
a taxi from mid-Strip to the North outlets will be about $18-20.
the food court is half-decent there too... especially the chinese
we prefer the North outlets, has a nicer feel to it and is all outside (like an outlet village in the UK) - South is mainly all under one roof, like a 'traditional' mall.0 -
But the South has - Buffalo Wild Wings bar = Mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm !!0

When you are ready to book your return flight do it by phone and add the return onto your outward flight as a single booking (open jaw if your return airport is not LAX). That way you can use the 241 companion voucher to cover the return as well as outward.I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards. Just a quicky re getting to the north premium outlet. you can also catch the WAX (airport express) which stops outside NYNY on Tropicana avenue west. This bus takes you direct non stop to the outlet. Also if you stay on, it will take you down town. The return bus can be picked up directly outside of binions. $2 each way. The only downside is that it is only once an hour. This is particularly handy if you are staying the south end of the strip. (the return bus drops you off between Tropicana and hooters. We catch this bus each visit.
Hope this is of use to anyone.0 -

Thanks.
Coming back from the North Outlets, does the WAX pick up at the same place as the SDX?
What time is the bus, eg on the hour, 10 past, etc?0 -
The RTC have really good maps/timetables on their website...WAX is under express routes.

trying to log in via total rewards but unsure of PIN. It looks for Zip code. Does anyone know what they'd have used for Ireland?0
