Crikey, not something else to make Tracy ill:(
We are not there until June so plenty of time for he to keep taking the Emergen-CThe common law of business balance prohibits paying a little and getting a lot. How is Tracey now? I hope she's feeling much better.0

Hiya guys, traveled to Vegas 2 years ago with my sister and today I have just booked to go back next Feb with the hubby, I have a couple of questions I was hoping you lovely lot could help me with.
1. Flying with BA from Gatwick (was with Virgin last time), I was looking at choosing our seats but they layout seems so different from Virgin's, are there any "good" seats I just aim for? I do prefer a window seat but was hoping to get 2 seats together like Virgin have at the back. Also, is the seat tv thinghy (technical term) modern like Virgin's one? We had an old plane going out last time and the tv was rubbish, the plane coming back had a much better entertainment system.
2. Staying at Planet Hollywood this time (was Vdara last time), anyone else stayed there?
3. Anyone else been in Feb? What's the weather like? I know the pools won't be open but thats fine as I didn't use them last time either.
I'm sooooo excited to go back, Hubs has never been so I'm hoping he enjoys it, he's never been on such a long flight and he's a smoker so that's gonna be harder then when we travel with our boys ;-)0 -
seatguru.com will tell you the exact layout of the plain and also colour codes the seats to give you the pluses and minuses of certain seats.
The seat TV thingy (IFE= In Flight Entertainment) is fixed to the seat in front. The best info on BA can be found here.I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards. Off to Platinum in September. We're already booked directly, travelzoo doesn't go that far, but I'm quite happy with our rate anyway. We're having a Princess Suite Strip View (with washing machine!!!).
Not done all of our planning yet, still nearly 5 months away. We're flying to Phoenix, hiring a car from there. 2 nights in Scottsdale, then driving to Flagstaff to the Grand Canyon and staying one night. Then we're going to drive to Kingman, Oatman, and then maybe Lake Havasu City and on to Laughlin. Staying one night at Aquarius (can't think the name without putting a tune to it). Then on my big 4-0 we're driving up to Vegas, and checking in at Platinum for 11 nights. We might sunbathe at Laughlin in the morning, then drive. We'll likely not get checked in at Platinum anyway, but might call or email to see if we would before deciding whether to set out early or later.
We've been doing Social Rewards and have about $120 each so far, well we have some more still to cash in. We will easily have $300 between us in the next month or so. Maybe nearer $400 total for our trip. Might try Caesar's buffet. Maybe Absinthe (or would it be cheaper to get discounted tickets - perhaps trading in points will be at full price). Maybe some nice drinks in Paris or similar. Rio buffet (unless it comes up on Groupon for our dates). I think we might enjoy spending our pointsThanks to nvh and pebbles to leading us to start collecting.
Other things I'd like to do this trip are Wynn buffet (breakfast, plus another day for late lunch or dinner with champagne bump). We might also see a cirque show. Maybe Wicked Spoon or Aria buffet, as we've never done those. Lots of walking. Never been to see the tigers at The Mirage - is it recommended?
Will be keeping an eye on Groupon and Living Social in the coming months.
Secretmachines....I had a thought. Is your forum name anything to do with any other sort of machines? haha.0 -
Also, has anyone noticed the dollar is up a bit? I can't decide whether to buy. We have about $500 from last time, and because we're driving and moving for the first bit I'm not sure we want to be carrying much more.0

Morning
A quick question if I could. I am flying to Vegas on 16 June by Virgin, I vaguely remember a post saying that I can choose my seats 2 months in advance. Is this true, or am I dreaming?
Also, does anyone know if the immigration queues in LV are as bad as the ones in NY?
I have never been before and I can't wait
Thank you for any advice
