running/jogging in Vegas... yeah i know!

i'd like to do the odd early morning run, only 2-3 miles... staying at Vdara I was thinking of doing a simple square:
east along E Harmon (past Signature @ MGM)
south down Koval Lane (round back of Signature/MGM)
west along E Tropicana (past MGM/Hooters)
    north back up the Strip

is Koval Lane safe to travel along? am a bit wary of walking along off-Strip places... (maybe wrongly!)
That sounds a nice littler run. I go along Koval sometimes, the pavement runs out so you are running on uneven dirt for a bit unless you cross over onto Ellis Island side.(Sorry reading again you wouldn't be going that far along) How about running out to the Las Vegas sign, from where you are it would be about 4.5 miles return (I know, I do run rater far) My usual is out of Platinum, up to the xing of Flamingo and LVB. Out to the old Sahara, back along the Blvd. Out to the Las Vegas sign. I then stand there and wave at the EarthCam (seems as though it isn't pointing at the sign now!!) Then back along the strip, down the side of Miracle mile shops, along Koval and home. About 10 miles. Then I sit by the pool for the rest of the day!!
Use Google maps and measure a route for yourself by using the measuring tool.
The common law of business balance prohibits paying a little and getting a lot. If you deal with the lowest bidder, it is well to add something for the risk you run, and if you do that you will have enough to pay for something better.

    thanks! good to know :)
have been reading on the best seat locations, and somewhere near the front of the back section seems to be most recommended, but a number of reviews saw there isn't really a bad seat to be had.

would buying tickets through MLife count towards my card status/get closer to freebies/comps? We're only casual gambler, so won't be spending $1000s on the tables/machines.

We booked our MJ one tickets through Mlife.com last year. We got a small amount of savings on the tickets, but on the downside, we were unable to select our own seats. Going for the cheapest tickets we literally ended up on the last row. It is a small theater, so you would still have a great view, but thankfully as it was not sold out we were moved to the middle. It is also one of those shows your tier with Mlife makes no difference, so no upgrades.

If you buy it through Mlife, you will get the points and will help towards your status. Comps I believe are generally given based on your gambling only. To get the best of both worlds, I'd say maybe give Mlife a quick call and see if they can book it for you?

    Enjoy the show :)

Thanks Lizzie! Not being able to select seats was a bit of a pain, so went through the MBay website in the end... Fortunately found a pair of seats bang in the middle of the front middle section, row F, so really pleased with those. Read lots of review, quite a few saying to sit a bit further back so you can take it all in. But this pair of seats seemed too good to pass up - looks like they were returns or something as all other seats nearby were taken for all the days we are there!

Expensive tickets but really worth it by all accounts!

Thanks Stoneman! Yep I've only just started running, so a couple or three miles will do me for now :)

Yes a bit further back is good, as the show is not confined to the main stage, but won't say much more as not to ruin the surprise elements :)

I agree though, it is a very expensive show, but we thought it was well worth it. Although I doubt I would pay seeing it again, unlike the O.

Talking of Cirque shows....Anyone been to see La Reve? Recommended or not? Keeping in mind we have seen O, I am thinking it is very similar, which I don't mind at all!

    50 more days now!

We have seen both and they are actually quite different - though it has been quite a few years since we saw Le Reve and it could be different now. We liked both but by far preferred O. Le Reve is more dancey...there's music you will probably know (or there was when we saw it)...the water element is interesting and makes it different to most other shows...but it's really quite different to O...there are of course similarities because of Franco Dragone designing Le Reve...it is in the round which also makes it interesting and different to most (other than Love).

I think Le Reve is worth seeing but if you really loved O - don't go in expecting it to be similar as they are quite different and you may end up disappointed.

As for Easter, we fly a week tomorrow...cannot wait!
Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?

We are in Las Vegas now and will be there for Easter too. Looking forward to seeing you Ferf.

Having a quick side trip to Reno/Tahoe today and tomorrow. It will be a change for us.

The weather forecast is predicting mid 90 F temps in Las Vegas for the next few days. Very toasty for this time of year.
