loving looking through everyones lists for ideas. last year i managed to complete quie a few of the items/kits id got lurking in my stash pile and used them as gifts at christmas. the reciepients were really pleased with them - and it cleared some space as well as giving people nice things that in the main only cost me time. (most had been bought that long ago i couldnt count the money cost really)
i plan to do the same this year and try to use up a bit more stash.

AHA! I didn't realise I could include stuff that needed finishing.....so revised list includes a cushion cover with button pattern on it, that is almost done. Also over Christmas have been asked by my boyfriend to do a photo album/ scrapbook of his daughters wedding photos, 1 for him and 1 for their anniversary present.
I also have 2 William Morris cushion covers (the strawberry thief) that I have been adding beads and embroidery to and quilting, so they need finishing and boyfriend's other daughter loves William Morris designs so she can have those for her birthday.

    So list now reads:
    1. Knitted cushion cover with buttons.
    2. Knitted blanket in honeycomb stitch.
    3. Knitted jumper.
    4. Wedding photo album for boyfriend
    5. Wedding photo album for anniversary present
    6. New York skyline mixed media piece
    7. William Morris cushion cover number 1
    8. William Morris cushion cover number 2
    9.
    10.
    11.
    12.
    13.
    14.

It is so interesting reading about everyone's plans and has given me further ideas.......my sister loves bunting, so thought I might make some felt triangles and decorate them with the new embellisher....still pondering that one.

Having a cold is a great excuse to sit and crochet all day...just need to convince the family that they should keep me supplied in coffee. 2 squares towards (4) halfway through (1) and a start made on (5)... I do tend to chop and change as I get bored using the same colour after a while.

    15 crafts for 2015 challenge.

This sounds like a great idea. Sign me up please! (Although I'm not sure how you add photos on here)

    1) spring wreath
    2) quilt for dd1
    3) quilt for dd2
    4) granny square blanket
    5) throw
    6) cushion covers
    7) bag
    8) bunting for mantel
    9) decoupage box
    10) photo frames / photo box
    11) wrist cuffs
    12) Christmas gifts ( reindeer jars)
    13) scrap book of the year
    14) something for the garden....

All subject to change if I take up a new craft ... Which I often tend to do, my craft of the moment is crochet , so we'll see how it goes....

Fabulous varied list - looks as though you are something of a "craft junkie" :D

I use Flickr for adding photos. It's easy (and free) to set up an account and there is now lots of storage space. You can upload photos from your pc, tablet, phone etc and then once the photos are in your "photostream" there is a function to "grab the code" for a selected photo - you then paste this code into a post on here and your photo should appear.

This looks wonderful and how clever to have designed it yourself.

A checkered effect with perhaps a dark (Tardis) blue for the plain squares would look good and the dark squares would set off the lighter designed ones well. As for size I suppose it depends on how you think she might use it - a thrown size which could go on the bed or the couch would be good. Just my opinion

  • Hi all,

I'd like to join please? I didn't know Soulie and I wasn't on the thread last year. But I enjoy crafting when I have / make the time and a target of 14 items seems achievable for me.

My condolences to all those you are missing Soulie. My Mum currently has the Big C and we don't know yet if she's going to beat it. It's a cruel disease.

    My projects for 2014 are:

    1. Felt hot air balloon mobile for the playroom
    2. Tie backs for the playroom curtains
    3. Purple scarf for my mum
    4. Padded seat covers for 3 chairs

    piggybankshaker welcome to the thread.
sending hugs and positive healing vibes to your mum.

i was so glad that someone took the lead and made this crafting thread dedicated to soulies memory, i didnt know her personally only through the crossstitchcafe and this thread on mse. but she always came across as a lovely kind and caring person. getting us all together and encouraging others to take up crafts and support each other is a lovely way of remembering her and honouring her name - you are more than welcome to join in.
i look forward to seeing all the lovely photos as people start working on and completing their items
