I have completed my first ever quilt - only a small one - made mostly from scraps...

It has a lovely appliques tree with leaves and a small bird - not the best applique as my machine seemed to slip lots of stitches but it is a wicked first attempt.

I have backed it with some lovely fabric I had knocking about that was too short to make any clothes with (only a yard of it)...

I will get photos as soon as I can find my camera...

I'm loving all of the piccies of the things people have made..

Hope you are all well. :)

  • Flower - that's a pretty (and useful) way to give a piece of beautiful stitching; it's a lovely change from framing it.

mrs-m, school assemblies always challenge the creativity in us. Well done.

nimbo, congratulations on completing your first (of many, I'm sure) quilt.

  • I've completed another item from my list:

    3. Complete my hand-knitted jumper (based on another jumper but made without using a pattern).

Photo on Flickr and I will work out how to put it on here one day…

    sweetcarer love your stitched pieces.
pigpen wow what a brill looking hat

im working on a blanket for a friends first grandchild at the mo, blanket square is finished and im on the 3rd side on the lacy knitted edge. hoping i get the 4th side done before the wool runs out. why does it make you knit faster when you think you will get to the ball end before you finish the item? (well it does me anyway)

  • mrs-m, I knit faster when I think I'm short of wool too! Maybe we think if we hurry we can get to the shop and hardly miss a knitting moment!
