Evening everyone
Thank you Zippy for the new thread:beer:
Flat lemonade works the same as coke for upset tums, also try having a little bit of salt, rehydrating salts are always handy to have in, hope you feel better soon emerald
We sometimes have a mustard sauce with our gammon0 -
Thanks for new thread Zippy.:j
Off to read back and see what Ive missed.0 -
It is nice bubbs. We have just been gifted a big piece of pork for Xmas which we will serve with the usual turkey crown. Thinking of putting pork in slow cooker on Wednesday but can anyone recommend what to add to jazz it up a bit. Not massive pork fans here. Tia
Alternatively use a little hoi sin sauce watered down.
Merry Xmas guys! Back to lurking x0 -
Good evening:).
245 pages (40 per page) on the last thread? It could have lasted more! The plan I had was to start one on Xmas Day, with a (nearly) 'final' Morries list at the start.
Happy Christmas and thanks for the new thread - I like the name:T. I missed the turn-off for the route to M's anyway - and would have been going slightly out of my way tonight - so I haven't bothered with the Monday collection. Who on earth would be shopping right near to Xmas Day for normal groceries anyway? (As opposed to whoopsies or Xmas items post-Xmas.) So - new 'collection' due Friday, as planned. I'll get the New Year one!:T:j
I'm still having phone problems so on and off:(.
No answer to my Herbs & Butter query, but I've bought them anyway on my way home. A bit of a 'working blind' shop as not able to search msm properly and no time early this morning! Got a GC success though - A's Reduced Fat Cup Veg Soup 66g 68p each but SEL marked any 2 for £1. Hoping for a comp vs T at <25p but bet they don't as there's an 'issue' on msm. Buy 1 for 68p or any 2 for minus £1:rotfl:. Faced with that choice, and spotting they were straight 68p on msm (so maybe not on mbuy unlike the SEL suggested), I picked up two instead of the one I'd intended to get ... and then 'noticed', the other side of the till, that the mbuy hadn't come off. So, in effect, their purchase reduced the bill by £1. Which pays for the Herbs & Butter Potatoes if they don't work.
QUOTE:
Zippy - you're tripping yourself up - for no reason.
Stop dancing & go have a cuppa & calm down.
Yep we did need a new thread soon.
I think Savvy should do the one after yours for all the sterling work he's done keeping us all up to date with Morries prices.
I hate to think of Savvy being made redundant BUT am glad for him that finally we can see more Morries prices and that he'll have more time to post and also do other things.
Me being made 'redundant'? Fortunately not. I'm sure I'll find other things. Although I suspect the price collection teams for the APG may be out of jobs, not v. good at any time but esp. at Xmas. Or maybe they'll start collecting info. for Lidl and the Co-op and elsewhere for msm.co.uk so we can really know how to save, let's hope so!!:)0 -

Some unscrupulous managers are using the electronic tips to pay wages:mad::mad:
ETA: Or at least ask the server if they will personally get the tips that you pay by card. (might be easier than arranging enough cash if there's a lot of you.)
Ok I will join in this debate.
10% already added usually goes straight to owners. The idea is it is meant to go to servers and kitchen. If service good then pay plus leave a personal tip for waiting staff.
Better than good service you should leave 15% (split between cash and 10% on bill.
Excellant service and really good food then I would do the same in a smallish restaurant plus send a drink into kichen for the boys.
Believe me if it is top hole dining experience the kitchen staff really appreciate a beer and will love you forever.
Kitchen staff are always left out but it is their skill and timing that makes a meal.
The the usa it is different. Their the waiting staff only get their taxes paid by house tips are wages so I would always leave basic bill tip or even reduce or decline then give waiter/busboy bar cash tips seperately.
In states it is polite for a good service to distribute 20% amoung staff and I always take that into account before entering a restaurant.
Sorry for long explanation but if a waitress is handed a brown or purple note you make their day.
