Jealous of lozzy having decs down!

Not a great day with DH. Step son has departed for faraway shores with his fianc!e today and DH is in a very funny mood.

Our New Year's Eve soir!e is growing. I thought it would be 6 grown ups for a sophisticated dinner party We are now at 10 plus a dozen children (3 of them mine). I am panicking! My beef Wellington is not going to stretch to 22!

Urgent texts are being sent out saying nibbles and bubbles!

Remind me never go let DH out on his own. He's invited the world!

You ladies are most welcome to join us. The more the merrier!

Mumto5 usually I love having the decs up but this year both small boys made it their missions to break, touch and mess with them.... I had to take away the baubles just before Christmas day I dared go to the toilet leaving them 'playing' I came back to to ds2 eating a glittery bauble and ds1 helping himself to several candy canes nappys have been very interesting since.

Who ever is acting D.J next door needs their ears washing out, volume up and down, no song left on for longer then a minute haha I hate my neighbours and I have just heard the music been turned off stomping up stairs slamming of doors, heavy banging on doors, shouting in the front street.

  • Morning all,

Happy birthday lozzy88! Hope you have a lovely day.

Woke up with a bad case of the sniffles this morning, not impressed. I have a few jobs to do today so once the DC are up and about, we'll head out. Th house is looking relatively tidy but still a few jobs to do on my list. I like to start a new year with a tidy house and there are still a few areas that need decluttering.

One major job for me over the next few days is to review my goals for 2014. I have a fair idea of what I want to achieve but need to spend some time thinking about it.

    Right, onwards!

    Happy birthday, Lozzie!

Depending on when the kids get back, we may go shoe shopping  Other than that I need to pop to wilco for lightbulbs, tester paint pots and something else I can't remember...

Tosco delivery booked for tonight - had free delivery code - so will sort the fridge / freezer today.

I've been thinking about 2014 too. But I know if I go in all guns blazing on 20 things that need to change I'll fizzle out. So my main things are:
To meal plan. Benefit: less stress with littlies at meal times and
Lose the last of my weight. Hopefully assisted by the above

When I've cracked those and got that habit sorted, I'll look to something else.

Right, I'm getting up. Tea is required. Hope my phone is sorted today...
    Bossymoo

    Away with the fairies

Hmm goals for 2014? I'm at the drawing board on that one.

DH is taking the 3 boys to Wolves to watch leyton Orient away from home today. I will have a quiet day with DD1. I might nip to town to buy food stuff for NYE. Also need more bubbles as MIL, DD1 and I drank rather a lot of them Christmas Day!

The Hoover needs to be pushed round all the carpets.
Washing needs to be processed. Bathrooms need some attention so that should keep me busy!
  • Bossy, a nice suggestion for the leftover bits from the tester pots - paint the little moos hands and your hands too, one colour for each of you to make a nice keepsake for all of you.

I got a pack of two canvases from the R@nge for a fiver. Yesterday, I painted the canvases in the base colour of my dining room before all 6 of us put our mitts on it in our favourite colours (DD4 was a 3 woman operation to get her hand painted and splogged in the correct position - success was measured by the fact no paint got in her mouth, her clothes or the carpet :D)

I have made the beginnings of a tree trunk to connect the handprints together. DD2 is getting her bf to add some fine detail to the trunk and put "our family tree" in fancy script at some point and then it will be ready to hang (there is a space for the EX to put his hand print on if he changes his mind in the future - without him it wouldn't be much of a picture with just one red hand print splattered on a canvas :rotfl:)

So now something nice has been made to go on the wall, I now need to get some flying done so it will look nice once it is finished.

DD4 had daisy at 6, and went back off to sleep
Initially, I spent 10 minutes in each room, just de-gibbling as it's dustbin day Monday (I want to get as much out of the house as I can) each room really needs a lot more than that, so I will hopefully get a bit more done before I can think about getting the hoover out again (I managed to snap a belt on my only working hoover late on Xmas Eve, which was fixed for me by EX when he arrived, so I had a quick whizz round on Xmas morning and that has been about it.

All 3 toilets, seats, pedestals and cisterns have all had the full Obsessive Compulsive Cleaners treatment. Just having a quick brew with DD3 and then I will try and get some more washing through on the cheap Leccy :money: I will aim to get Mt Foldmore down to nothing by Tuesday 11.59pm :)

Hope everyone is having a good rest.
The cold never bothered me anyway

I can't remember who posted the Christmas cake recipe I used this year. DD1's BF and I cut it yesterday and it is so good!

Huge thanks to whoever it was.
