Morning All
That smilie is so not me at the mo. i am feeling fairly flat and drainedBut needs must and i have a lot i want to achieve - so will fake it til i make it
Last week didn't go as planned. Had a fabulous time at the theatre with family but i paid for everything  - which wasn't the plan but they are family and i know their financial state / income is no better than mine. They also gave me a beautiful gift
Shopping last week was over £100 :eek::eek: - i need sit downOK - reasons for excess shopping was: - stocked up by going to a shop i get to once every couple of months spent about £20 - got 36 loo rolls and various other stocking up items which are by far cheaper to buy this way.
Had to go to one of the cheaper supermarkets for fruit and veg - again alot cheaper (there isn't a good market near us) Spent £12 on lots of fresh stuff and some tinned - most eaten now
Supermarket itself should have been £30 spent £50 - had some good wine deals on this week so i stocked up - it will be used
Spent about £30 on bulk buying soap, shampoo, conditioner, washing liquid and long life shelf stuff. Will last a while and save alot
Friday i was very, very tired and ended up having to go to bed early after over 12 hours in bed :eek::eek: i got up saturday morning running a temperature and generally feeling blah. Managed to get all the carboot stuff sorted out and got lucky with a glorious day sunday. Didn't sell everything and all the bits of stuff left (10p items) we gave to a fellow regular stall holderThe more expensive stuff that didn't sell came home.
So of course i am now going to declutter again- i want to make sure we got rid of everything we should have and see if i can get enough together to have a small carboot - if i take home £50 from it i'd be happy - so need to make £60 to cover the pitch and of course i can have a look around the other stalls too
Of course with being ill saturday and out most of sunday i did not achieve all the things i set myself to do - so amends need to be made this week - although it will be hard as its my weekend in work too
I am going to have to push myself today to get things done as i am tired still and got up later than i should have done - i think i need to take my vitamin supplements to give me a boost - they are so expensive though
Ok will get on with pots first and get a few jobs done before popping back
Hope all are well xCC1:T £[STRIKE]2531[/STRIKE] £1460MORTGAGE OVERPAYMENTS: £10575.20 Target £12,100MF Date: [STRIKE]August 2042[/STRIKE] May 2035Declutter 1000 things by Xmas 2015! 53/10000 -
It sounds like you're overdoing it. Fake it all you want, but please try to find some time to laze around at home and be kind to yourself :coffee:0

Hello, I thought that I hadn't seen you around recently.
Sorry you haven't been well- it sounds as if your body said enough is enough, and told you to rest. Try not to over do it this week, although it's so tempting to try and get everything done to catch up with yourself.
I think it's a good idea to get the bargains when you see them, it's cheaper in the end.
Vitamin supplements are indeed very expensive. I take iron and vitamins, and evening primrose oil capsules. I buy them from a retailer on eBay, and it has been cheaper than the High Street. I've read that ginseng, zinc and magnesium would be good for me - thinking about that, it would be a big outlayEarly retired - 18th December 2014
If your dreams don't scare you, they're not big enough0 -
On the other hand, there is ongoing dispute as to how much of a benefit vitamins and some supplements are when you already have a balanced diet. In addition to this, certain branded supplements are not significantly different, but cost a heck of a lot more.
A case in point would be vitamins for pregnancy. Like all anxious first timers, we bought nothing but the 'best' when Mrs E was expecting. The NHS only advocate increased levels of c. 3 key vitamins and minerals, all of which are available in generic £ shop vitamins, or for about 90p from the NHS.
So look after your body, but I've yet to read anything that proves that 'brand x' beats 'brand y'0 -
I agree about the vitamins - look at the packets, the ingredients are often the same for the cheaper ones as the branded ones.
Well done on the car boot though!"Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Eoin McGee0 -
I feel I need to chip in the vitamin front. The cheaper ones often are cheaper because of the way the product is made and because of how the vitamins and minerals are bound, so for example if we took 100 mg of calcium as a supplement we would absorb twice as much calcium if it is calcium citrate than we would if it were calcium carbonate, although the latter is more expensive, it would be a better product as you would get to absorb more calcium in the pill. And some of the cheaper products not only use the poorer quality bindings but also use extra fillers etc in the pills (like talc for example). Sorry - probably more than anyone wanted to know - but I felt I should chip in as the ingredients are often the same but look the same and its a complicated field and if you are going to spend cash on a product then do make sure it is one that will deliver!Made it to mortgage free but what a muddle that became
In the event the proverbial hits the fan then co-habitees are better stashing their cash than being mortgage free !!0 -
Thanks guys. I am actually deficient on vitamin D - if my reading or whatever it is was any lower i would get my vit D free on prescription - i am literally at the starting point of levels that don't require a prescription. I guess i need to get on the ball with it - and yes i do try and get a bit of sun too
Thank you for all of the info. though. - There were a couple of things which happened this last week which meant a startlingly unexpected start to the day at 4am - i think i've just not managed to catch back up on sleep - and of course the carboot was an early start as well.
