With the need to clear the credit card bills each month i need to keep a tight rein on the food spends - wednesday i hope to have the time to investigate one of the cheaper food shops to price up what i can get from there cheaper - but only based on what i need  Any surplus from this budget will help with the additional costs coming up

Added to that i need to keep up with the ruthless declutter - i need to sell stuff to get money in and quite a few items i have listed i've had listed for a while and these will be put on the carboot in the summer.
Hopefully i can clear the credit card in full this month, keep up with the regular (from wages) savings and overpayments - the savings are especially important to me and have been on my mind this last few days  And of course the regular payments i make for the household jobs.CC1:T £[STRIKE]2531[/STRIKE] £1460MORTGAGE OVERPAYMENTS: £10575.20 Target £12,100MF Date: [STRIKE]August 2042[/STRIKE] May 2035Declutter 1000 things by Xmas 2015! 53/10000 -

Thanks Guys

I have also found a new job to apply for :T It is fixed term contract though and the hours/shifts aren't as good as what i have now but it is hopefully a good opportunity
I will submit my assignment tomorrow
Do the application wednesday night
Read through Thursday and then submit it
It is a little more than i am earning now - still not enough to cover all the outgoings but hopefully my travel costs would drop too although i'll do more travelling due to the hours so again not too sure.
It is a bit of a risk going for such a short FTC but if successful i would need to try and get taken on in a permanent role in the company
It is a big if though - i've applied to this company before and heard nothing
- it is also a bit of an epic application form
Reading the diaries on here i realise i need to push myself to get back into a better paid job. - i know this anyway but with working and study i am shattered by the time friday arrives. I've also had a fair few thanks but no thanks on application where i have applied to change career - with good transferable skills or past experience - and my confidence has taken a bit of a knock
i do not want to carry on doing what i am doing but, especially now i think, it is so hard to get taken on in a job where you've not done that role before - or even for a while as there are so many experienced and over experienced people applying :undecided CC1:T £[STRIKE]2531[/STRIKE] £1460MORTGAGE OVERPAYMENTS: £10575.20 Target £12,100MF Date: [STRIKE]August 2042[/STRIKE] May 2035Declutter 1000 things by Xmas 2015! 53/10000 -
Good luck with the application - just give me a shout if you want me to proof read or look over anything

Confessions of a Spendy person being spendy

I have 6 outfits for work which consists of:-
1 trousers
3 skirts
2 dresses
I was only recently given the pants and 1 of the skirts. I have been wearing the other items for 2 years now - i do change my clothes every day for work. If i get an interview i will need an outfit for this as my work clothes are now decidedly worn
It isn't a full on suit type place where i work and some people turn up in new stuff all the time - one girl even said to me that she could not bear to wear the same thing to work twice in a month! Anyways as i mentioned the other day i do not like to spend money on work wear - epecially as its hard to find the right balance between being smart without being too formal at a reasonable price and quality that will last.
I purchased a top and skirt for work. It cost me £7. It should have cost £38 but was in the sale. I have tried the outfit on and am very pleased with it. But it does mean spending £7. If i got a new job it would be perfect for their - not the interview as i always feel its best to err on the formal side with the jobs i am applying for  It is also fine for where i work now, i just might save it a bit in case i get a new job
Of course once the purse was open it didn't stop there  I bought something utterly fabulously amazing
i say something the receipt says 'blouse' i say 'long jacket' - if its a blouse it certainly has no means of fastening it up the front :rotfl: And its very long  It was £11.60. It was reduced from £95  I may need to return it if i can't decide when i'll wear it as i was thinking it'd be lovely for our fancy holiday
and it is very eyecatching
and did i mention that i love it
BUT regardless of how much i saved i still spent £11.60 that i don't have as all my personal spends are going towards car costs etc. So decisions decisions...CC1:T £[STRIKE]2531[/STRIKE] £1460MORTGAGE OVERPAYMENTS: £10575.20 Target £12,100MF Date: [STRIKE]August 2042[/STRIKE] May 2035Declutter 1000 things by Xmas 2015! 53/10000 -
Hello !
I really only lurk on the MFW board, but I like reading what everyone is up to.
Just wanted to say, your diary strikes a chord with me as I'm a dedicated de-clutterer and eBayer. You wouldn't believe what I've sold on eBay over the last few years! I want to get to a point where the only things that I have in the house are things/clothes that I use/fit me, things that have value for me ( sentimental or otherwise) or things that I simply enjoy.
I haven't achieved that goal yet, but I'm working on it!
I sold all our 7 inch singles last year, the most interesting ones individually, the others in bulk lots
Now I'm working on our albums.
I only sell individually the ones that are in the very best condition. The others go into bulk lots. The bulk lots are still doing well, but the individual album sales have stalled a bit. I started off very well, but maybe my current offerings aren't so interesting. I'll keep plugging away at it, and if not, I'll just have to do everything as a bulk lot!
PS Good luck with the application!Early retired - 18th December 2014
