Thanks Cheery - i've had to slow down a bit but am feeling not too bad now - which is alot better compared with how i felt / was a couple of hours ago
I have managed to do both 2/5 and 3/5 of the wardrobe declutter
*ahem* we'll not mention the number of jumpers and leggings  Made myself part with a few jumpers as eg i could look at a jumper and think 'well i only really wear this with x item so do i have anything else that will do'made me part with a few bits so all good there. i can't do the whole 'not worn for 6 months' thing as i have several pairs of shorts and i'm pretty sure the last 6 months have been a bit cold for me wearing them  I get the principle of it though and this has encoraged me to start wearing items more. I am very guilty of 'saving for best'
and hardly wearing stuff. Now that the space is clearer and i can see what i have and what works with what i'm hoping a better-put-together me steps out the front door in future
So if you spot anyone in alot of bright colours and strongly patterned items it could be me
- yep, its official there is alot of lovely bright colour in my wardrobe - out of the oooh 16 pairs of leggings  i still need a plain black pair :rotfl:
All washing and drying done, just a few bits left to moveSaves having to do it tomorrow
I am *not* starting the next wardrobe section now, will leave until tomorrow or monday. I *need* to find more things to sell so may well work on it tomorrow. But i am pleased, i have pushed myself this month and the utility space is fab :T and i know i will complete the bedroom this month and it feels great having space and parting with things :T I do *think* it'll be the spare bedroom i work on next month

Yep, pyjamas at home are really important, aren't they
I'm glad the decluttering is helping - always feels good to clear a space, for me, anyway.
Sorry i missed you there KCYep pjs are fab
And the decluttering is brilliant - feels good waking up to the clear space and now i am finding i am keeping my nicest and best things too so i just have choice of good items that i like with things and gets me out of a rut of throwing a comfy old favourite on for exampleThere are still things i need - plain black leggings for example but now i know what i *need* rather than want too

Morning All,
It looks to be a lovely fresh day here - nice and bright but cold too - i have popped the heating on to take the chill off for a bit
I got all the washing done and moved and after saying i wouldn't do any more of the wardrobe i will just do the next shoes section today. I am doing this as i have a pair of shoes i want to get rid of but can't unless i have other shoes i can wear instead of them - that will go with certain outfits etc. I mentioned my colourful & patterned wardrobe yesterday - well my shoes are the same and the 1 pair i want to get rid of were a very cheap pair of black sandal / shoes. So i will see if there is anything i can wear in place of these and then they can goI may as well sort out all the other shoes at the same time. I think i will still need a pair of black shoes at some point but do want them to be ones i really like and that are a bit more comfy to wear
I have been reading a few diaries and have been inspired to start a spending diary. i won't include direct debits on this as these are set amounts for essentials but all the other purchases. I have been particularly motivated to tackle the high food spend we have each week. I am not sure if its higher because there is only me on the MFW and not my Mr ? I have tried to buy own brand things or cheaper makes but - and i guess its the same for everyone - it is a bit hit and miss. Some things are quite set costs spend wise now i think: - milk, sugar, bread - i aim to spend only £1 a loaf a week and if more is needed to make the extra, butter - my Mr has always had butter and all of the tubs are a similar price, cheese - i pay approx £2 350g block. i do weigh up the cost of meat from the deli section. So a 100g of corned beef of ham is usually £1 if on offer - i buy tinned if this works out at better value per 100g and goes further. We tried a different and cheaper brand of cottage cheese but didn't like it - i think this is about £1 a tub so i don't buy it all the time. I buy garlic bread which is approximately 30p - rather than 84p so making a saving there  Oh potatoes are a must - 2.5kg for £2.25 and goes with / is a lot of meals for the week with no wastage. i wonder if i am missing something that we still spend alot each week on food shopping even though i am very focused on reducing this? Any suggestions welcome
So for today i have to do:-
Assignment
Section 4/5 of wardrobe
Photo items for bay of e and write up remaining couple of descriptions
Try on boots - do they fit? Or are they being sold?
Bag up returns
Try on dress
Package up bay of e itemsCC1:T £[STRIKE]2531[/STRIKE] £1460MORTGAGE OVERPAYMENTS: £10575.20 Target £12,100MF Date: [STRIKE]August 2042[/STRIKE] May 2035Declutter 1000 things by Xmas 2015! 53/10000 -
The spending diary will help you figure things out, DD, so that you know what you're spending on - plus, check out your food receipts, and look at how many branded items or luxury items you've got. Somebody was saying about highlighting the "treats"? Can't remember if it was on here, but it sounded like a great idea to me.2023: the year I get to buy a car0

Thanks KC - yes i already do that - go through the receipts and identify areas of 'unnecessary spends' often though these can fall into £1 category and are things like crisps to have whilst having a movie night
I am very strict though and will only pay approximately 10p a bag of crisps so multi-pack of 10 for £1
I really do want to work on the food shopping spend and wonder if it will help when i have more time so can really think properly about purchases rather than the usual supermarket dash that i tend to do
Hows things with you KC?CC1:T £[STRIKE]2531[/STRIKE] £1460MORTGAGE OVERPAYMENTS: £10575.20 Target £12,100MF Date: [STRIKE]August 2042[/STRIKE] May 2035Declutter 1000 things by Xmas 2015! 53/10000 -
I'm good, thanks! Just posted on my thread (not since Thursday! How did that happen??)
Re the treats thing - they may not add up to much, but they may add up in themselves. Case in point yesterday for me: coming home from my afternoon out, I was *starving*, really hungry, and £3 for a takeaway something at the train station seemed ridiculous, when I'd been working so hard to cut down. And I nearly bought a loaf, so I could have a sandwich when I got in, at least. But luckily (1) I remembered I had some stew I could just stick in the microwave and have ready in 3 minutes and (2) I remembered my gluten intolerance - really not best to push my luck too far by buying a whole loaf. So, even though the loaf was only £1.10 or something, I didn't - saved my money, used my own stocks of food. It really does boil down to the odd £1 here and there, at this stage of the game, I thinkon the food shop, anyway.
Just my opinion2023: the year I get to buy a car0
