Trying to explain the rules of simple board games to half-deaf relatives who don't like to listen, but won't read the instructions for themselves, then having to answer the same question over-and-over again, despite it being really quite easy (Uno - if it's the same number or the same colour then yes, you can play it... no not that one, because that's red and you need yellow... yes they are different, because they have entirely different numbers on them...)
but other than that it's all peachy, I've had a a lovely time!0 -
Crazy last minute shoppers drive me nuts. I tend to wait late sometimes as well but I am much more polite and in control then some of these other shoppers.
Even though I can be one at times, the last minute shoppers and traffic and all that cluster are what drive me nuts. Plus when I was a lot younger I worked in retail during the holidays and if anyone has had the displeasure of doing so, you know how stressful that can be.
Main point, be nice to other, whether they are workers trying to help you or shoppers trying to get their kids presents. Just be polite, especially around this time of the year!0 -
I know it's not 'fashionable' to send thank you letters these days but if only younger folk would realise that not all of the elderly are comp lit to receive emails, or have a mobile for texts. Every year I see them happily buying carefully chosen presents or sending money they can ill afford for their darling grandchildren and, having worked with older people for 30+ years, see their sadness when nothing comes back, not even a 'thanks', or 'ta'. I'm sure I'm not the only one who feels that some traditions shouldn't be lost.0

Realising that because we have less, we are much more careful and thoughtful how we spend it. While others in my family have more but think a lot less.
Which burns.
Ah well. I get teased about my round robin letter - if my family think it an uproarious work of fiction, they should try the thank you letters...0
