Happy Birthday Bitsy & maman.. Hope you have had a great time celebrating :) lots of pampering and fabbing!!

I have done a day of the 30 day shred today. Let's start again :)

Face mask on which exfoliates off then some baby oil to moisturise skin after de fuzzing & some deep conditioning oil on hair. Nice clean cosy Jammies...

Hope everyone is having a great weekend.

    Hugs all round :)

    Morning all!
Not been around much but have read your posts - lots going on - birthdays, fabbing, career changes, relationship ups and downs - we're a busy lot! Hope everyone is ok and having a good weekend.

Just been for a nice dog walk in the park and then a swim - the first time I've swum in ages. It was great - just a quick 50 lengths as the dog was in the car but I tried to push myself and feel much better for it now.

Did a hair mask, self tan and face scrub yesterday so have tried to do a bit of fabbing too. Need to spend more time on making an effort rather than rushing around all the time. The coming week is a little bit less hectic thankfully so I should be able to get a bit more exercise and time to make me look better.

Just been watching the news about the missing plane - a real mystery and quite intriguing but how must the families be feeling? It must be awful. I'm a bit of a conspiracy theorist and think there's probably something going on behind the scenes that we don't know about but how cruel for the loved ones.:(

The rest of the day will be lovely school marking, mowing the front lawn (the time has come unfortunately), and sorting the house. Then its some time with Fling this evening (still going strong :)).

Right enough procrastination - better get the red pen out.......

    Happy Birthdays :bdaycake:

There has been no fabbing here at all :( I have been tired, grumpy and eating badly. I know to feel better I should be eating well as it will give me longer lasting energy and will make my skin etc healthier however I keep grabbing junk and then moaning I feel rubbish. Well I filled the fridge with deliciously healthy things and I have cleared all the junk (again) so hopefully this week will be better.

My gorgeous boy has not been sleeping too well and as a result I am tired and have not been in the mood to exercise. Today I packed up the family and we went for a country walk which made me feel instantly better so I am going to make sure I get out every day from now on even for just a half hour.

On a cheerier note we have bought a tent and I am now scouting about trying to figure out what to take as a capsule wardrobe so that I am warm, dry and vaguely fashionable while touring the UK ;) any suggestions as always gratefully received.

Hi ladies, happy birthday to all those I have missed and hugs to others that are having a tough time.

Wow, were almost at the end of another quarter and lots of fabbing has been achieved between us. I was at the hairdressers this week for the regular touch-up and trim so back to feeling 'normal' again. The roots come through far too quickly and I had been hiding my head in shame for the past week

I finally got around to sorting out my wardrobe this weekend; mostly thanks to mother nature throwing a tanty and bringing us horrible stormy weather from the tropics. I now actually have a pile a spare coat hangers  and two bags of stuff to go to the charity shop. I also did some googling around looking at ideas for putting together a capsule wardrobe and hoping to plan some basic outfits and buy a few key autumn pieces with a view to trying a 'less is more' approach - rather than my usual randomness. It's quite good fun to have some new thinking and get a bunch of things out and try to see how you can pair them up differently.

I want out of the rut, so in order to force me into different thinking, I have thrown away several old nana cardigans and three pairs of my 'comfortable' go to M&S slim leg black trousers. The trousers I have had on perpetual cycle for several years as part of my Autumn / Winter work wardrobe; I usually have two or three pairs on the go and reorder a replacement once the oldest pair have had the life washed and worn out of them. It's just pure laziness that sees me grab them at least once, if not twice per week - so I have vowed never again!!

You might guess, I couldn't find a thing to wear this morning. :rotfl:

Have you tried google images; I have found it quite useful just to flick through pictures of various capsule 'storyboards' that people have posted up without having to look at lots of websites. You can refine your search according to a style, occasion or location- 'outdoors weekend capsule wardrobe' and such like. I tried also choosing an item I have, like 'grey shorts capsule wardrobe' to see what kind of colour schemes and things others had put with grey shorts.

Kiwisaver - have you come across Project 333? I have filched the principles from their website

    The Basics
◾When: Every three months (It’s never too late to start so join in anytime!)
◾What: 33 items including clothing, accessories, jewelry, outerwear and shoes.
◾What not: these items are not counted as part of the 33 items – wedding ring or another sentimental piece of jewelry that you never take off, underwear, sleep wear, in-home lounge wear, and workout clothing (you can only wear your workout clothing to workout)
◾How: Choose your 33 items, box up the remainder of your fashion statement, seal it with tape and put it out of sight.
◾What else: consider that you are creating a wardrobe that you can live, work and play in for three months. Remember that this is not a project in suffering. If your clothes don’t fit or are in poor condition, replace them.

If I was still working I think I might have tried this, although I think I would have cheated on jewellery and scarves:(

I have masses of summer clothes that I really should thin out, but they are mostly fantastic quality items that I really like so, as Summer is so short and unpredictable here, I may try and work out something like a set of clothes on a 4 week rotation.

So sorry that you are missing out on your sleep, I hope that little one settles into a better routine for you very soon.

OH and I have camped for donkeys years, in tents, trailer tents, folding campers and now we have the luxury of a good sized Motor home. I would advise comfort as being a prime consideration, then picking the most stylish things within this category. With having a family to pack for too it is not easy to manage a camping trip without needing a furniture van following behind:rotfl:

Layering is the key, it can be very hot or absolutely freezing, particularly in a nylon tent, those brightly coloured plastic clogs are fantastic as the grass is always wet in the mornings and evenings, they can be left just in the entrance to the tent, huge clumps of wet grass in my living quarters are a particular hate of mine, like sand it gets everywhere and is quite unpleasant. I hope that you will have lots of fun, I have young friends whose babies have camped since just a few weeks old:D

Thank you for the advice Kiwisaver and Maddie! We would LOVE a motor home however finances only stretched to a tent thanks to an unexpected refund :D The others are easy to pack for as they have outdoorsy clothes however I am quite girly so all dresses apart from my DIY/garden clothes which will not be seen in public :rotfl:

So far I am thinking of vest tops/bubble hem tops, hoodies/jumpers, leggings, waterproof jacket, waterproof trousers, walking trainers/wellies during the day with maybe a stretchy skirt to glam it up :D Night time I will pack thermals, PJs, sweater and snuggly socks. Hat, scarf and gloves for day/night :rotfl: A few people have mentioned the clog type shoes so they will be added to the list.

I want to look prettily practical ;)

The tent is part of my fabbing routine as I always feel better outdoors and spending time with family away from day to day life :D

  • maddiemay, I don't think I could sort out 33 items to wear! Which goes to show how much of my wardrobe I don't wear, as I definitely have more than 33 items!!
