Well today I had a day off from fabbing and it was lovely
I have stayed in joggies and eaten my body weight in chocolate biscuits all washed down with fizzy juice and it was just what I needed :rotfl:

Good morning All
My word was/is "Fun". So today I'm going to try and have some, despite being up half the night again with my poor face.
The bruise is now multi-coloured and is a beaut!!! It seems to be developing a life of it's own.:rotfl: No amount of make up will cover that one so not going to even try. It's too sore to touch anyway. I'll just keep slapping the arnica cream on it.
I'm off out to lunch and a mooch around McArthur Glen shopping mall with a friend. S*d the stares ………
It's a beautiful day here so it will be nice to go out for a drive and a potter round. My friend is great company and we usually spend the day giggling like schoolgirls - just what the Dr ordered.
Am currently reading "Feel the Fear and Do It Anyway". Can recommend it.
Have just finished reading Arnold Schwarzenegger's autobiography - a bit long and he does go on a bit, but I do find him quite inspirational. Coming from nothing he built himself up (literally - shaping and honing his body) and has had four completely separate and highly lucrative careers.
It just goes to show how much you can achieve with positive thinking, goal setting and a bit of hard work.
Anyway off to fab up……
Have a great day.0 -
Thank you for the link to the 100 happy days website, Bitsy - very interesting! And I don't blame you about the fasting; if I don't get enough to eat I'm grumpy, simple as that. I understand that not overeating is important (and why I have a stone and half to lose!), but still, if you're exercising then you need to eat enough to feel good and have some energy.
Lesson, hope your bruise clears up soon! And the Arnie book does sound inspirational, it's not that he's the most talented actor but he is very driven, which could help us all.
I've had a horrible eye infection for the last few days, and today had to go into work wearing my specs rather than contact lenses. I know that sounds a bit pathetic, but I was dreading it; I had such a poor self image when I was younger because I always had horrible glasses and wasn't the best looking girl anyway, that in my head I was straight back to the awful teenage years, even though I now have nice glasses and a lot more self confidence! To my surprise hardly anyone commented, and those that did said that I looked nice and should wear them more often. It was a very pleasant surprise [smile]Finally debt free!! March 2018 :j0 -

Sorry you couldn't get on with 5:2 BitsyI found it hard at first and definitely didn't stick to the 500 cals you're supposed to, but after a while I just found if I kept busy I didn't think about food. My stomach has shrunk and so my meal are smaller too, that's not to say I don't pig out sometimes and I never gave up chocolate or other food I loved. It's the first time any kind of diet worked for me. Hope you find something that suits you.

That sounds nasty hope it clears soon. DD1 and 2 wear glasses/contacts so I understand how you feel but I think there are some lovely glasses around these days.
My word was optimism and having some has paid off even if only in small ways. Need to go to bed so I'll come back to this later. Night all.Frump to Fab - Solstice Sizzler

How lovely
I have had a tough couple of days as I have been very unwell and so living in nightwear and doing nothing but sleeping and feeding the baby. Today I felt better so slapped on some makeup and some non-maternity clothesand my hubby took baby and me out for lunch which was lovely. We also registered his birth which made it all official and allows me to open his first bank account and start his MSE journey early :rotfl:
It was nice to receive a compliment the other day when someone stated they couldn't believe I had just had a baby as I was looking so good.Taking responsibility one penny at a time!0 -
Morning all,
Rummer Glad you're feeling better -there's a lot of nasty bugs around atm.
Well I can definitely recommend the whipped shea and coconut cream -my skin is feeling much better. It is a little greasy so you do have to be careful- I've used it at night on my face and arms and after just 3 applications my skins much softer and less scaly.
Optimism- was thinking about all the things that weren't going so well that i've tried to be upbeat about and that have actually come right.
DD2 perhaps some of you may remember is v. horsey and as we can't afford a horse she placed an ad offering her services in the yard in return for riding the horse. We had one or two that didn't work out but this time last year she found someone who lives near us. Between this young lady and her friend they have 5 horses. Her and her friend have been really great with DD2, taking her to shows, out on hacks, and teaching her all they know. In return she has covered for their hols and helped out. They now have a new project too, a horse that they are going to break in when the weather improves. Add to that that someone else also just up the road has asked her to exercise their horse and everything has turned out really well. She no longer has lessons regularly just the occasional one which helps us financially too.
My dog had a lump which the vet wanted to remove though he was convinced it was probably a cyst. Due to my dogs temperament i decided to take the wait, keep a check and see approach. Last week the cyst burst and is draining nicely so I'm v optimistic that it will heal fully.
DD1 has finally found a job that she likes, where employers try and tap into her hobbies and interests to help their business and even better the wages are higher than any of the other jobs she has had.
These have helped me fuel my optimism that other things in my life will change sometimes soon and spur me on to keep at it making the effort to keep going when i feel down ( as some of you know i do have bouts of depression).
I'd also like to thank all of you on here for reading, commenting and making me feel that some one was listening and offering advice.
The weather's a bit wet here so after I've been for the morning walk with the dog will be doing my next OU essay and a bit of house work before having a bit of pamper time later.
Have a good day all. ( hope i've not gone on too much)

Great post lizzie. I don't know about others but I noticed your optimism starting to show through as you prepared for DS's wedding. You were determined to ignore OH's attempts to bring you down and got yourself all fabbed up and confident. Not just for that occasion but for life in general! Good for you!!
I've been for a massage and a facial this morning. My last treat on Groupon. I need to look out for more.
I've got block pink colour on my Shellac nails (only had French before) and I'm really liking them and lots of compliments too.
Glad to hear you're feeling better rummer. I think you're doing brilliantly so soon after the baby. I know people who are still carrying babyweight that have adult children!:rotfl:0 -
I agree with maman, Lizzie I remember how downbeat your early posts were! how your OH sucked the joy from everything. I know your life isn't perfect but it's not stopped you changing your attitude and it shows. Really enjoyed your upbeat post, certainly lots to be happy about
LL hope bruise is feeling better ASAP xx
Rummer glad you're feeling better x
Ruby hope eye infection has cleared up and that you've realised wearing glasses now doesn't make you the teenager again x
Still plodding on with redecorating. It's slow going having to juggle everything else but I am ditching expectations and if it takes a month to redecorate one room then so be it.
My poor hands though are suffering so I foresee a night of intense moisturiser and cotton gloves.
I am really liking my jojoba oil as a moisturiser BUT it's not enough to moisturise my upper cheeks which are really dry. Have had to resort to adding my old moisturiser there which kinda negates the idea of not putting chemicals on my skin but don't know what else to use....

Although I have only just "joined", I have been reading along for about a year and have been cheering you along during this time. Yay to you for quietly ploughing your own furrow and not letting your negative OH drag you down, hopefully one day, karma will sort him out, while you continue going from strength to strength:A
Bitsy
Have you tried Rosehip Oil? totally natural and amazingly hydrating and soothing, I always keep some in and use it at night when my skin is dry or I have an excema breakout, also layer it on before I go out on my bicycle or dog walking in the cold winds. Probably available at health food store, but I usually try and pick up Trilogy or A'Kin from Q*C or *-bay.
Rummer
Sorry you have been poorly, great to have a nice lunch with OH and junior though. The best thing about the future is that it comes one day at a time. (Abraham Lincoln)0
