Sorry to hear you've been poorly PM, I hope you feel much better soon.
Apple muncher is right, I quite often feel like I've been really frivolous with my spending but on reflection I've quite often only spent a small amount. When I look at friends Facebook pictures etc I am  at the amount they must spend on days out -especially in the school holidays.a penny picker upper. Went to work yesterday and lived to tell the tale! I thought it would be a quiet day but it was mad, mad, mad. Today is proving quieter thank heavens.
New fitbit arrived! :j At long last
Worked on some self-employed stuff and managed to get the house a little bit in order (i.e. it's squalor minus the Dickensian orphans now).
Not much else to report! Just one sleep until payday :dance:a penny picker upper. Oh flip, I'm at 9,871 steps for today. Need to have another little walk before bed.
TV licence DD set up once more, need to search out new contents insurance and that'll be us up to speed on housey things. Oh, and do meter readings soon as well (must get back into this habit, coinciding it with the start of the month helps).
Head and ears all acting a bit wayward today, going to have an Olbas oil bath in a bit to try and get things back in order there so I'll be ok for a fun day out and about tomorrow.
Had good news at work re: hours and such, might be a bit wayward for a while still but hopefully I'll get to start my new hours come September. :T
Had to buy a new pair of converse shoes, my others had bitten the dust - everything seems to run out/fall apart at the same time  I suppose that's how I end up buying everything at the same time only for it all to run out etc at the same time again... But handily I've timed it with the summer sales and I got my shoes half price :T I'm hoping that's it for shoes for quite a while now, though I might need some more for work (putting it off as long as possible!).
Payday! Though less came through than I was expecting (drats), but on investigation it probably works out right. Will work out what I can pop over to savings tomorrow.
75p into the kitty bank!
:heartsmil Simple Pleasures: meeting Mr M after work for a wander out and about in Tesko (bought some beer -on offer-, sleepy time tea and croissants :rotfl: what an exciting life we do lead). We had some fun chats about future plans and reminiscing about when we first met (it wasn't in Tesko :rotfl).a penny picker upper. Lol, well...! No one behaved this morning but everyone's friends again now.
Nice day out wandering around the countryside and old churches, stopped off for the most amazing dinner (1940s-style corned beef, pickled cabbage & soft cheese fritters on pulled pork & beans with new potatoes - tasted flipping amazing. Going to try and recreate it sometime soon :j).
Rejigged my sig, £1k by end of year savings almost at £500, just need to keep reminding myself that it'll be slow over the next few months but keep at it as it's all going in the right direction.Bring on 2016 though

Odd couple of days, had a mini meltdown yesterday (overtired) but all is now returning to normal I'm glad to report.
Forced ourselves to nip to Ald! this eve, £45 on a bulk of things to last us the next week or so. Lots of veg as I need to start upping my intake again. Did 40 mins aerobics today :j :j
I'm going down to four days at work from the start of September. :T Mr M had a big pay rise kick in, this means he can cover the council tax as that roughly equates to what I'll lose from work income. ETA: actually it'll fall a little short, but tbh, having a better work/life balance will pay dividends and I should make up the extra & then some easily with other moneymaking schemes
:www: MFW Wonderment: did a little OnePolling, been working on self-employed (but all very delirious in-the-middle-of-the-night plotting and planning sort of things given events over the past week).
:heartsmil Simple Pleasures: seeing nice boats decked out in their finery on the river, the living room remaining tidy for at least four days now, listening to daft boppy music :dance:a penny picker upper. Oh oops, have I really been AWOL this long?
Still been under the weather which hasn't helped, along with muchos extra hours at work. This whole month is going to be all over the place as I'm covering lots of holidays in different office locations, hooray for the monies but it's quite inconvienient really. :rotfl:
Apart from working, fending off migraines/muscle spasms and my ears acting up again ('what?' as Mr M says whenever I mention it, which I always fall for) I have a few good things to report:
Meerkats helped pay for a cinema trip (Inside Out - so good). :T We've worked out we've saved almost £275 by using our two together railcard (mad!), I've pottered on self employed stuff despite continued delirium.
Went out to Oxford yesterday - MISTAKE. We realised that we went over there almost a year to the day and that was when we decided only to go in the winter. Roasting, mad tourists everywhere, too exhausting. Had a nice wander around the covered market and bought myself some lavender oil, so at least the day had a saving grace. Was so happy to get back home though. Oh - watched The Wipers Times on Netflix last eve, so good, catch it if you can.
Have been plotting in regards to my newly acquired day off. I'd been holding off my blog/magazine project as I couldn't see how if get the time to do it, but with an extra day I should be able to sustain it. However - I already have a few projects on the go and part of my Big Plan is reduce the amount of half-finished, oops I mean In Progress projectsSo I want to get at least one, preferably two of those out the way before embarking on another big undertaking. Hopefully I can nip those in the bud quickly now I'll have the extra time.
Despite temptation, I must not let my time be totally taken up with surveys and oddments like that. I must work on the bigger picture, even if it takes a while to deliver. Might write myself a note (or several) and stick it on the fridge etc to remind myself!
:heartsmil Simple Pleasures: watching votive candles burn in the church we quite literally took refuge in yesterday, resplendent willows sweeping down along the river, seeing lots of new butterflies and insects :ja penny picker upper. Yep, I'm seeing this! I was about to post, to find out where you were hiding... Wondered if you had found they way to Narnia, or the magic sand fairy in 5 children and It. Glad you are back! And coherent!
Working 4 days sounds good - I shall be doing that from October. The danger - for me - will be that the 'day off' gets filled with housey stuff, not fun stuff.NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0 -

Reminds me of this signpost, wish I could find it. :rotfl: But even if I did, I'd be stuck in front of it forever trying to work out which way was best to go.
