Bit of a mad day yesterday, was still a bit rundown and ended up leaving work early (almost went into Aldee for food but had no foldaway bag with me so opted to scavenge house for food instead which worked out well as I had rather epic scrambled eggs & beans on toast which was delish).

Felt okish after that but went swiftly downhill after dinner (Aldee's soy, ginger & chilli pulled pork on waffles with coleslaw & spinach - nice but my tastebuds weren't working properly at that point so I feel I missed out a bit there) and ended up in bed at 8.30pm or some such ridiculous time. Woke up for a few hours in the middle of the night, cheered myself up by daydreaming about planting up my imaginary allotment (lol) and somehow got into work today. Thankfully it's quiet so I'm slowly coming back to normal again. Think another trip to the docs may be in order though. :o

In spendy news, £1.49 on a pad of paper (much needed for the Writing Of Lists and Plotting Of Plans).

So far I have plotted out a plan of action for my new day off: two hours of concentrated writing projects in the morning, one hour break for luncheon, then two hours marketing/admin/research then another two hours of crafty makes. If I can hit that as minimum then I'll be well on my way!

I'd like to try and get out early in the day for a decent walk, then fit in some exercise post crafty makes. I'll also try and work on my Now List and Goal List (see http://www.howtodoeverythingandbehappy.com), possibly in the morning pre-writing.

Once I've completed the core of the day, only then can I do the odd survey and such, but I might nix that idea (again, lol), we'll see how it goes.

:heartsmil Simple Pleasures: I scattered leftover flower seed in my spring bulb pot a day before some heavy rain showers hit and we had another mini-heatwave, and they've sprung up like nobody's business! There are cornflowers and nasturtiums in there, can't remember what else. Looking forward to seeing them flower, they should do as I was still going outside without a coat near the end of October down here - loving the extended season :)

:rotfl: don't worry, I have a proper day off beforehand which includes: 6 hours rest, 2 hours vaguely thinking about tidying up (but actually drinking tea/reading a magazine I've uncovered from a pile of stuff by the sofa that I'm two seconds of the way through sorting out) then half an hour 'oh, might as well put the dishwasher/washing machine on, gosh I need a rest now', then 10 minutes working out that I can do all the rest of the housework on one of my shorter days next week. :rotfl:

PS. Yes, actually the close air could be playing a part,I get really headachey etc before thunderstorms *pray we have one soon!* Ended up sleeping on the sofa last night (Mr M snoring badly again), I'm feeling better from a night with earplugs, might crash here tonight as well :o

Another lolloping few days - migraine nonsense resurfaced (gone now, whew!) and am still sleeping on the sofa bed due to snoring shenanigans... Mr Merle has clicked how bad it's been, he came back today with a present of chocolate sundae and some posh pink fizz from M&S. :rotfl: Bless his cotton socks.

Only money-saving thing of note has been the eating of cheap teas (beans on toast), which probably offset the cheeky tea and cake we had out yesterday (courgette and lime cake, yummy). Definitely back on the straight and narrow today though (lots of salad items consumed, ha).

Oh no, I should give myself a pat on the back for thoughtful water/electric usage (been very conservative with both lately). Slowly building in new routines (half drunk glasses of water used on plants etc) that are just a little more environmentally friendly, and also help stretch the pennies.

Must confess, found a Folio Society cloth-bound novel (brand new!) in a charity shop for only £3 (prob worth about £30), chuffed with that little find. Otherwise I'm doing well with my continued non-spending. :T

Visitors arriving later this week, had a mad dash around trying to clean today... hope it will suffice, still a bit of a state though.

ETA: 5p & 10p into the Kitty Bank!

:heartsmil Simple Pleasures: pondering fun things to do with visitors, reading books on the train, noticing all the bounty on the trees (have found a sweet chestnut near our house, hurrah! Also loving watching the acorns grow on a huge oak tree near work - must bring some home for autumnal decor when the time comes)

Working 4 days sounds good - I shall be doing that from October. The danger - for me - will be that the 'day off' gets filled with housey stuff, not fun stuff.

But if you do fill up your day off with house stuff sometimes, hopefully that leaves more of the weekend free for family fun stuff? x

Yep, indeedy. I do like my lists of house stuff to get done and absolutely LOVE food shopping. I like to cross things off my lists too. Also, I guess I'm not particularly houseproud - in fact I know I'm not :D - so housework never ever features high on my priority list!

I know I just need some 'me' time on that day off. Anyhow, it isn't until October (I htink) that I've only 1 weekday free. In September, I have 3 - so shall be enjoying them!

Quickly bobbing my head up from Hecticville - covering all over the place at work and it's been mad there. Thankfully full of things that are either good, amusing or turned out better than expected which makes a welcome change!

Visitors down this week, looking forward to a day out tomorrow. Hope the weather is better though, tipping it down presently!

Delivered a whole car load of stuff to the charity shop today (all the bags that have been kicking around here for ages), and oh my goodness - there's so much space here now! It also looks so clean and tidy as I actually cleaned (sort of) properly for once - it didn't even take that long, gosh I could always be living like this! Can't see it happening though :rotfl: There's usually something better to do...

20p into the Kitty Bank! Extra hours worked this week means more pennies pour moi! :D

:heartsmil Simple Pleasures: bring social for once and having people stay over (must do this more often!), hugs from my beloved, picnic teas!

Visitors have been and gone, had a lovely time tootling about the countryside seeing little villages and National Trust gardens (avec tea stops...possibly some cake was consumed :D).

Marred somewhat by ongoing sickness bug, boo. Feeling more human again today but could really do with a day lounging about on the sofa asap...!

10p into the Kitty Bank. :j

Spending has been minimal, despite visitors, all good. Payday soon, huzzah. Monies starting to build up nicely, loving it.

Not much else to report! Shorter week starts this week, soooo looking forward to doing some batch baking and house organising on my days off.

:heartsmil Simple Pleasures: days out in the country - saw so many butterflies, dragonflies, stunning flowers, ancient trees - and now I've got so many ideas for my future garden ;)

Hopefully over the hill with the madness at work now. Monday's are always mental but being left to do all sorts with no instructions given was very

And argh - someone offered me a bus ticket while I was waiting at the stop but I didn't realise what they were on about and said no (thought they were asking if the bus had come - end of the day fatigue had set in), hope the managed to give it to someone else. :o

Decluttered: two books, body lotion & shampoo, old rain jacket.

:www: MFW Wonderment: free lunch so foodstuffs kept for another day; will be too tired after this week to even contemplate spending money; started another charity shop bag so when we finally do get a place it won't have to be big enough to store all our useless clutter (so already saving vast amounts by editing life/items now - having a moment of chuffedness about this :D). Spreadsheets/piggybanked budgets updated.

:heartsmil Simple Pleasures: watching the thunderous rain but managing to miss walking to and from work in it.

Just did a quick calculation, think I may be able to put £400 into the savings pot next month. :money:

Going to recalculate my spending plans til the year end again and double check my projections (ooh err, fancy :rotfl:) - though think I'll save that task for tomorrow at work, I didn't stop for lunch today and came in half an hour early - they most definitely owe me! :p
