Hi P*M, I absolutely love reading your diary, your positivity comes through in leaps and bounds and gets me all inspired. I absolutely love that sign post you linked to earlier, I'd love one in my garden (I'd say it's for the kids but really it would be for me :rotfl:)
Great news on the savings :TMortgage March 2011 £143,927.6

Hope today is less manic for you...
Also have ch shop bags on the go - just need a day with the car to take them (to Sally Army because I get a £2 credit stamp for every bag of theirs I take in) as going on the buses would wipe out the ensuing credit! Must have about 3+ bags' worth so it'd be good to clear bevore visitors return next Mon. Nowt like a deadline to get things done, eh?NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0 -

Great news on the savings :TI tend to use the diary to recalibrate and focus on All The Good Stuff (generally my thinking is by doing that I'll no doubt attract more Good Things and I have to say, it does seem to work), but goodness knows I have my fair amount of down times. It's hard not to feel chipper in MFW-land though with so many inspiring folks (yourself included!) on here. :T
Case-in-point: I had a grrsome day today but feel miles better now I'm back on here chattering away to you fine folka penny picker upper. MFW approx 78% to go | FIRE 3 years worth (30% savings rate: now aiming for 40%!) | Normality is a paved road; it's comfortable to walk, but no flowers grow on it | Whatever you're meant to do, do it now. I forgot about the Sally Army credits, I don't think there's one near me (must investigate!). Have you managed to clear them? Can't believe my last lot took about three months - must be more proactive in future. :rotfl:

Am so glad the last two weeks are over. Hideous sickness, mad work stuff and exhaustion - hence the awolness. Had a couple of days off but couldn't even read/formulate sentences in reply - obviously back to my normal self now, huzzah. :T
And only one more day at work (at the quiet office) then I'm freeee for a few days (birthday trip to the seaside!). Literally can not wait.
So, random news of late - I ended up recalculating my spending plans before I went to sleep the other night, lol. Couldn't stop myself diving in. It all still tallies nicely, with any luck I'll be a bit up on my projections *cross all fingers and toes*.
Ticked off a few outstanding house tasks, despite feelings of waywardness, so feeling chuffed that the place is looking more normal now.
Have been self-medicating with MUCH drinking of tea, watching of Miss Marple/Foyle's War and pondering of autumnal meal plans - all very soul soothing.
Treated myself to a ticket to see a ballet at The Royal Opera House - opted for a seat £14 cheaper that the one I was originally going to go for - need to test out cheaper seats for potential future purchases! Proud of myself because I really wanted a super good seat for this particular show (have wanted to see it for ages). Also decided against two other shows that tempted me, so effectively saved some pennies there. Must find an opera-dance-theatre going friend down here though, Mr M is against sitting in those tiny seats for three hours at a time. :rotf:
Decluttered: more kinder toys (arrrrgh), a couple of magazines, Mr M sorted out a whole binbag of stuff from the living room to be chucked out! And that was just from one pile by the sofa (there are many more scattered about :rotfl:)
:www: MFW Wonderment: found 5p on the bus! A bus I had run for as well - it's like a double win.Got paid early this month, huzzah! £300 into the savings pot, must work out the particulars soon as there should be a bit more than that. Bought a couple of YS 10p packs of wholemeal seeded bagels in Azda, they should last me a goodly while.
:coffee: Simple Pleasures: cosying up on the sofa and resting properly; chuckling away to Modern Family which we are currently binge-watching; planning future free/cheap days out.
:heartsmil Burrow Building: had a good chat about money & plans, shall elaborate in a future post.Had a nice weekend chilling out and eating lovely food

Visitors returned Friday, but bags were only cleared on Sat morning. Only 2 gone, but another ready for soon.
Monster production has halted and I'm slowly gearing up for some sewing - got a fantastic duvet cover with Russian Dolls on it and I'm sewing 2 of them back to back, and planning to stuff lightly, maybe with some lavender...
The other half of the cover will make bags or bunnies... One day...
Glad you have an end to the manicness in sight...NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0 -

Went to see Wicked in London with some friends and was a bit dubious about the seats as they were designated for those 5'9" and over and I'm, well, not.
Spent the entire time sitting sideways as I couldn't sit with my knees in front of me due to a wall and I'm only 5'3" so how anyone 6" taller was supposed to cope I have no idea!!Pearla*Merle wrote: »:heartsmil Burrow Building: had a good chat about money & plans, shall elaborate in a future post.Had a nice weekend chilling out and eating lovely food

Glad to see you back PM. Your last few weeks sound crazy.
I've finally got rid of a few carrier bags of clothes into the Marie curie clothes bank at my Mr T (been waiting for it to be emptied - bags had been in the back of the car for 4 weeks at least!)
Love reading your simple pleasures - makes me realise that small things can make you feel a whole lot better ☺

Just quickly nipping in - had a lovely birthday time away, back to earth with a bump thanks to silly job. Seriously hard not to send in resignation letter today!
Sizeable bonus should be coming this month so don't want to give them an excuse not to give me that so will attempt to bite my tongue until the end of the month (by which point there should be some other developments that'll affect the decision whether I stay or go).
Found a few jobs to apply for though so will prob do that in the mean time to be on the safe side. Oh, and to add insult to injury (for several things have happened) my more-normal-hours week has gone up in smoke for the time being. Am quite put out.
Shall return anon with happier tidings and proper replies.
To end in a happy note - I've just signed up (read: treated myself) to a free online course from futurelearn.com (a literature one). Very excited to have something charmingly distracting to do on the very near horizon
PS. buses thought they could get one over on me by secretly changing to one an hour on Sundays but I had the last laugh as I found another 5p on there before the driver dida penny picker upper.
