Many thanks for the well wishes, folks
Recovery does indeed continue apace, hurrahI had to go and have more blood tests the other day, then I'm back in next week for some fun and games but hopefully that'll be me sorted for a while (though will probably have surgery later in the year... trying not to think about that now
).
I managed to get out and about today - had a wander around a charming local garden centre and somehow managed to resist buying dozens of plants (but have come away with lots of expensive ideas for the future :rotfl:)
Also got my ID sorted at the bank for my new card (though bizarrely they didn't seem to know what I was talking about when I went in - and this is a pretty major bank - not exactly comforting, lol).apple_muncher wrote: »And do take time to be creative...What do your emergency pjs look like??
Mr M was on a mission to get me the most hilarious ones he could find. I am now I possession of a Moonmin get up; a Bambi get up; grey floral trews and burgundy lacey number (too low cut to wear in hospital!) and wintry polar bear/Scandinavian-look cosy PJs that look like a crazed onesie. I also now have numerous luminous fluffy socks. Also good to hear re the seeds you planted - kept meaning to ask you about them. Dd made me be really stingy when pouring ours out, so I reckon it was more husk than seed, judging bythe low number of flowers! Next year, I'll just tip 'em all out!

Had another lovely day out yesterday wandering a small National Trust property & it's grounds with copious tea stops before/during/after.
Picked up Mr M from the airport (he had a work thing out of the country so inlaws have been looking after me) - very nice to have him back!
Should probably talk about money shenanigans...
£1k by 2016 target reached!
If I'd been on normal pay for the next two months I would have been nearer £1.6k. So plan of action for the next while is limit needed-spending damage as much as poss during Christmas & Mr M's birthday etc. Luckily I'll have more time to research and assemble cheap/crafty presents, so I should do ok. I'll do a more thorough plan later this week.
Since I'll be at home for a while I'll try and remember to crack on with OnePoll/other surveys and try and get those to payout.
I will be batch cooking a-go-go for I have loads of new tubs to use for the freezer. Must remember to have a gander at my slowcooker recipe book. :A
My parents kindly left a two pence piece in my bathroom, into the Kitty Bank she goes. :rotfl:a penny picker upper. Glad Mr PM is home, but at least the in-laws paid there way... Was the 2p in the bathroom because they only used it twice...???

Just a quick update (am in recovery mode from last hospital visit but all went well & I'm finally on the mend, hurrah :T)
I've been doing well with eating proper meals, using up the veg in the fridge (for once!) and have reactivated MyFitnessPal as that should be a big help in making sure I'm eating properly over the next while (desperately needed as don't want any further probs!).
We need to replace some of our plates as they're too big and I need smaller portions now - so I've been researching more traditional rimmed plates and found some potentials (cute floral ones at N3xt). Just need to measure them up properly before committing.
Cracking open a Learn To Crochet kit (which has been kicking about the house for years) this evening - I can't let life continue to pass me by all the while not knowing how to do a basic granny square! This could be the start of a whole new moneysaving activity (blankets etc for presents... here's hoping I can master it!)
:heartsmil Simple Pleasures: a wander in the brief showing of sunshine today - I had a short walk to the river and found some gorgeously scented pink rose bushes on the way - heaven!a penny picker upper. I used to be able to crochet long single lines :rotfl: (years ago - all skill now forgotten), but never anything more fancy.
I took a look yesterday and now realise I really need to be more with it to attempt something new. So I'm back on the knitting for a few days yeta penny picker upper. So tired today - though did manage to get out for a much longer walk, enter several competitions and make dinner, which was yumskins...
Roasted some potatoes & carrots with rosemary then I whacked some black beans, sweetcorn and onions on top 15 minutes from the end - worked out a treat. Definitely a keeper as that's all stuff I always have kicking about the storecupboard/freezer. I'll mix eggs through it next time as I can reckon that'll be rather tasty. There's enough leftover to test out in an omelette tomorrow :T
£2.04 TCB arrived.
Gosh, that's literally all I can remember from today. Mostly been watching films.Must try and read a book or something tomorrow.

Hmmm, crochet. A skill that scares me. So maybe I shou.d sit myself down with a hook, some wool, and a utube tutorial....
