Decluttered: biscuit tin, ear plugs I'll never use, decorative floral wreath, and think I'm going to get rid of a glass trifle-esque dish I have. Sadly no traffic cones or other roadside furniture has made the cut yet (*nudges greent ;)*)

Forgot to say, Mr M was passing a shop in Londinium (Uniqlo, don't know if they're still running the promo?) yesterday and they were giving away fancy cooling camisoles/vests, so he got us one each. :T Perfect timing as I needed something to go under a work dress.... crikey, they're worth about £10 each! Wish he'd got another couple. :rotfl:
Do you mean to say that not every household has several unwanted traffic cones kicking around....? ;):rotfl: I thought the 'wanted' ad for them was even more bizarre than me having them in the first place! - and then when I mentioned it to a friend after the event he said that he wanted some too!!:rotfl:

Fab result on the freebie vests :T - and well done Mr M on the leftover bday goodies too! :D

    Hello katep23

You're right, it'd be mad to throw away free money. Thanks helping me get some clarity on it all. :) It's definitely hard to see the point of it when it's only a few pounds, but money is money is money - so at least it's working for me, even if it's in a small way :D

Greent, the wanted ad for the cones utterly slayed me. :rotfl: I'm not going to forget that story in a hurry. :D Do you know what they wanted them for?

Actually, I have a degree of separation to a good traffic cone story - my brother once used one as a Christmas tree. :rotfl:

Yesterday was boat day. :D Had to get up at 5.30, of course I woke up a million times during the night in anticipation of the early alarm - meant I was in bits by early evening and had to go to bed at 9pm.

They did have alcofizz at 8am, but I declined (can't take anything with orange juice in it, alas). Very super day, despite rather grey weather. The pair is us ruffled the feathers of the local gentry, saw a kingfisher(!), ate a hearty breakfast, skimmed along the river and saw some pretty boats then came home again.

Popped into M&S before closing and picked up YS scones & bagels (now tucked in the freezer for occasional treats). Aldo picked a couple of things I need in town while there so I don't need to do an extra trip in, yay!

Had leftover stir fry rice for lunch today, and hoovered up some other cupboard bits. Baked potato with tuna & salad for tea, cheap and cheerful! :T

Did some serious diary catching up today (on the sly - was quiet at work). So good see how well everyone's been doing and now I feel ultra inspired to crack on with getting housey bits in order that have recently fallen by the wayside a little due to our lack of time/energy. Am going to get those menus planned like they don't know what. :rotfl:

Spending diary uptodate. And I hit OnePoll again!

Home a little earlier than usual today so a few washes done, along with muchos relaxing.

Simple Pleasures: kingfisher dancing along the river. <3 Daydreaming about moneysaving (lol) & what it will afford me in the future ;) Evening light bringing the trees alive, so magical.

I literally don't know how I always manage to write such lengthly nonsense! :rotfl:

PS. Flipping heck, forgot to say I got two bottles of fizzy stuff from M&S for £2.50 each! Haven't seen them that cheap in an age (peach bellini and kir royale), and haven't drunk them since they were cheap... years and years ago. Now happily stowed in the fridge for a Me Party one night. :rotfl:

Lol, no, alcohol is kinder to me than orange juice. :rotfl: I gave up orange juice in my first bout of sugar-freeness and never went back as it still makes me quite sick. I've done quite well, it has to be said, at cutting out fruit again (though saying that I had leftover strawberries at breakfast). Cracking down again over the next few weeks as I think the sugar overload has contributed to my sleep problems (it messes with my hormones and my whole system goes nuts).

Though, back to the drinks, I couldn't have drunk anything alcoholic that early after such a rubbish nights sleep, I felt so wobbly anyway. :o I didn't even have tea as I didn't know how long I was going to be there and as previously discussed on your thread, best to be wary of taking on too much liquid. :rotfl:

Hope you have a fabulous trip, very jealous! Though maybe not so much at having to control that many children abroad :rotfl:

Yesterday was mad - had no sleep, somehow survived work which was quiet so I spent some time catching up on diaries. :D

Then nipped out for impromptu tea with Mr M (he's happy to have finally had a good Katsu curry (long story including, but not limited to, microwave explosions). I thought it was the worst one I've ever had but hey ho! Sake was nice though ;) and first time we've been out together in an age (oh yeah, apart from the other day, ha). Last time for a while though as so many things about the experience annoyed me (price wasn't too bad though, considering. :A)

Have been doing some OnePolling, working on self employed stuff, working out work stuff which is now dragging a bit... hopefully that'll all get sorted soon.

No other money news... must remember to look down at the pavement for pennies while I'm out on walks :rotfl:

Declutters of late: digital camera (can't remeber if I said this before), used up some bath treats that've been hanging around for ages, a plastic measuring jug.

Simple Pleasures: walks in the sunshine, more flowers appearing in my pots on the balcony, nice chats with friends. :)

    Productive day! :T

Used up veg in fridge to make a spiced vegetable concotion - froze it in batches and will use it as ready meals over the next few weeks (with couscous, rice, omelettes etc).

Also made blueberry yoghurt bites (mix blueberries, yoghurt, almonds and honey if desired then freeze in ice cube tray). I had another look at recipe books and have a few ideas lined up for the coming weeks.

Nipped to Aldee for a few fresh bits for the next week. Mr M said I'd just missed 2p lying on the ground but it was just a circle of cardboard. He waited until I was too far away to see it properly so would have to go back and look. He's mean. :o

Did some cleaning and decluttered: two random magnets we inherited from the old dishwasher here (Wallace & Gromit and Fountain of Neptune), mini sieve thing,

Simple Pleasures: cooking in a nice and tidy kitchen!

A good day health wise yesterday. Stayed off sugar, did 50 mins aerobic exercise and joined the Lose Weight thread again to help get focussed (as an aside, need to do the grocery challenge again - it always helps me use up things languishing in the cupboard).

Need to try more of the same today, though a little tired so I'm doing odd cleaning/organising jobs inbetween tennis watching. I've got a few boxes of old business stuff that needs sorted out, so I pthink I'll drag those in front of the TV and see what I can get rid of from those. Mr M is off on a jolly this weekend... so I should make some inroads into the organising without him getting under my feet. :p

Decluttered: set of Japanese-style cups, more paperwork, a couple of boxes I was going to use for storage but I don't need them anymore as I have nothing to store :j

I've also OnePolled! And worked out some budgets for events this year, shall write that up later so I don't forget...
