Oops, forgot to say, Mr M gave me 20p he found on the sofa, so that's gone into the kittybank, along with another 5p I've just found kicking about. :j

Had a lovely email asking me back for another chat re: work stuff next week. :D (Though will be super awkward if they want to take me on and then Mr M gets this job as it means relocation - his interview is couple of days later. Oh well, will cross that bridge if we come to it).

PS. Actually found 5 handbags to dispense with, huzzah. Simplicity is starting to reign in the Merle household :)

Glad you are finding ways to un-wind and your head is better.

I may work hard up the allotment, but so lovely and peaceful (especially in the evening) - just what the doctor ordered.

H, P*M great news about Mr M's interview, sending lots of good luck your way. Your afternoon in the garden and sunset river stroll sound lovely. We also live by a river and very rarely go and walk by it especially of an evening, so I think i'll add that to our list of activities for the school holidays. the kids will love staying up a little later and going out:)

well done on the decluttering too, it's great when you can start noticing a difference. I feel like I'm running out of stuff to ebay now so I must be doing something right :rotfl: I still have loads of dvds and cds to music magpie though.

 Thanks ladies :) It's going to be an interesting week ;)

Seem to have gone awol for a while, combination of feeling a bit wabbit and then Easter shenanigans. Shall update properly later (found more silverware on the pavement, there's a taster for you ;)), heading out soon to look for some more work clothes (oh, we know how to live!).

After getting almost caught up on everyone's diaries the other day I'm right behind the times again. :rotfl: Hope everyone's doing ok

Hope you've had some lovely walks, Crumpets :) It's a perfect time to meander by the river, so many lovely creatures about. We have some moor hen chicks down by us, and the occasional kingfisher... but I've only seen him once, I keep doing detours down there to try and catch another glimpse!

I'm building myself up to music magpie-ing as well. I seem to find it extra hard to get rid of CDs/DVDs but I'm so sick of them taking up space... I'm slowly edging towards space being a more thrilling prospect though. :)

MCI, I'd love an allotment. :smileyhea I'm on the waiting list, maybe one day! :)

I haven't bought any DVD's for about 2 years, as we generally watch a movie once, put it on a shelf, and then never watch it again. We've kept some of our collection (like my Johnny Depp stash), but most of the other DVD's were slowly sold on eBay.

Our CD's are another matter. We have CD's going back nearly 30 years. I'm still selling off our LP's, but the CD's will be next. I will have to investigate Music Magpie, as I think it might be slow selling on eBay ( and I want to downsize my eBay activity)

Goldie, Hbbb has sold a lot of CDs on music magpie lately, I think she did quite well with it.

I've managed to get together a wad of DVDs and CDs today, so now they fill a box I'm going to get in on the action as well! :j

Didn't go suit shopping in the end as Mr M is still suffering with his malaise. I ended up spending most of the day decluttering (again), and have shocked myself at how much I've managed to gather together. :j

What with the blahness of the last few days, I ended up doing sporadic organising between watching hoarding programmes (scare tactics).

So along the CDs and DVDs, I have dispensed with a couple of coats, a random assortment of clothes, halved my scarf collection (it's still sizeable :o), eradicated some of the glove collection, various little boxes of jewellery bits, some excess kitchen things, magazines, a couple of books, oh the list goes on. It's a good combination of things destined for charity shops and a few things will be sold.

I came to an amazing realisation - I was always a bit sad that I couldn't give a nice wad of cash to charities, but I've just realised, what I'm about to give them now could end up netting them an awful lot of pennies. These are things I can't/won't sell for various reasons (and some things that I just want to give them), but I'm glad I can pass on something that'll help. I know this seems like the most obvious thing in the world, but if I'd ever thought about it that way before I'd well and truly forgotten it. It's made me look at my stuff in a whole new light - I could give this away and a) free myself of the burden of it and b) make life lighter for someone else through the money it raises. Suddenly I see things and realise 'maybe I could live without this?' :)

Not much else to report apart from the decluttering, had a nice jaunt out to the countryside on Sunday and then a roast dinner, not much chocolate eaten as I'd already overindulged during blahness of days before.

Ooh, found some good looking specs (I'm seriously overdue new ones) in Azda, think I'll go and get them asap (will also be able to get sunglasses, first time ever and I've needed glasses for ten years oops). Should only come to £100-£150 & has been vaguely budgeted for.

:www: MFW Wonderment: found 20p on the pavement yesterday, I only ever seem to find silver coins these days :D 1Poll achingly close, and then Easter happened and there haven't been any surveys ahhhh. Items identified to sell, made a couple of ££s on eBay the other day. £1.28 from TCB. No sign of baby Oleg yet. As Mr M never tires of telling me, he'll be a pesky teenager by the time he arrives. :(

:heartsmil Burrow Building: decluttering, nice days wandering about, impromptu cheap but cheerful meals while out & about, playing board games :)

  • A LBM of a different type. I was like that about volunteering. I'd wanted to go that route but the opportunities didn't seem right for me. I then realised that choosing to help others by doing things I'm good at is volunteering even when it's not with a formal charity. The kind of stuff is assisting new graduates with cv and interview prep.
