It all sounds like it's going swimmingly PM! And love that there was a nightingale in your garden - I hadn't realised until I was reading an article the other day how rare they are in this country these days :(

We thought we saw the nightingale yesterday - but alas, just a blackbird.

Not much to report from the last week - just more of the same. Feeling slowly better but still rather zapped, I haven't had such a long spate of blahness for ages - have resorted to trying to distract myself by doing a few fun things (like arranging a few bookshelves - moving chaos still surrounds us so it's nice to see a tiny corner of calm!) or doing a few stints in the garden (am waging a war against overgrown ivy plus have planted out my sweet peas. Desperately need to order some more compost so I can get a few more pots on the go - a job for tomorrow I think).

:www: MFW Wonderment: feeling quite chuffed that I resisted buying quite a few frivolous things while we walked around the shops on Saturday. Could easily have been done after feeling so meh for ages (was terribly tempted by some cheap books, amongst lots of other not-so-cheap things).

Bought 6 months-worth of deodorant as it was almost 1/2 price :T More YS goodies from Waitflower (choc chip & cherry bread this time - all sliced and in the freezer. Don't think it'll last long though...).

Had quite a good sort through of my clothes now that summer has suddenly been launched upon us (25*c at the weekend - what?!). Reckon I'm fairly sorted but might need to pick up another couple of tops and definitely another pair of sandals. I've only just realised that actually I wear these constantly for about 6 months down here, as opposed to up north where it might have been about three days a year :p

Leftovers for lunch today, and more for tomorrow courtesy of our roast dinner this evening. :T

Revived some rather lacklustre bed linen with the thanks of speciality detergent/stain remover, so it lives to be used another day! Can't believe that stuff actually works! Hurrah though, part of the feeling a bit rubbish is seeing some more of my stuff that got wrecked from being in that humid flat, so to see something looking like new again is such a relief!

:coffee: Simple Pleasures: sleeping in on a Saturday morning!

:heartsmil Burrow Building: we've started to cook fancier things now we have the space & a decent oven (yorkshire puddings mostly, but I'm going to get started on cakes soon ;) Though as sugar free as possible - am going on another health kick asap!). Feels much more homely and fun to be baking. :)

Found more stuff to declutter (clothes, jewellery, books), think I'll end up with another Ikea bags-worth by this time tomorrow

Even though you're feeling blah (hope that goes soon) your latest posts are great to read. You sound so happy in your new home.

Fab news on Mr M paying off his student loan, I'm looking g forward to that day too :)

I think you're right, Apple. I've definitely been rather sugar heavy lately (just realised I talked about choc chip bread above then went on to say I was planning to cut down on sugar :rotfl).

Seriously though, even though I'm probably eating fairly "normal" amount of sugar, it's usually too much for me (I've got MyFitnessPal goal down at the WHO recommendation of 25g - I always feel soooo much better if I can keep it at that level!). My hands have felt really sore as well - always a sign things are amiss.

Was positively angelic in the end yesterday though - easily ticked off my five fruit & veg :j I've actually been thinking how I can cope living next to a Waitflower again - so far we've been really good at meal planning and only spending around £40-50 a week on food in there, but it's always rather tempting to pop in a few (or several!) fancy looking things. I'm thinking that I might be super strict with myself and only buy offers/YS stuff if I see it on our normal shop, but once in a blue moon (prob every couple of months or so) go in and give myself a spending limit (say £20) and buy lots of nice things (by which I mean fancy fruit & veg, condiments etc) - that way I can always have a few nice things kicking around but don't go mad in there all the time. I shall run this experiment for the rest of the year and see what happens...

Thank you, Cath :) & roll along student loan repayed day - it's definitely a fun way to get a pay rise! We're planning to be sensible with the extra pennies - well, somewhat. Mr M will take over paying for holidays which means my portion can be saved. That way we both get to do what makes us happiest when it comes to money :rotfl:

Industrious day! Loaded up the washing machine last night so Mr M could pop it on as he left this house this morn - so I got it out on the line nice and early (oh what heaven to be able to dry things outside! I've got through so much of the laundry mountain the past couple of days) and it's pretty much dry already. :j

Cleared a couple of pots that were sitting in the garden and have planted them up with with california poppies. Have planted up some baby leaf lettuce & perpetual spinach in amongst my sweet peas. Had a walk around the garden gosh, some of it is so overgrown. Brambles appearing everywhere and suchlike. We're hoping Mr M's dad will come down for a few days later in the year and help us sort some of it out - he loves stuff like that so might as well make the most of it. :p We've also got a little dried up pond that he's going to put into action for us. :T I'd planned to do a huge weeding session but the council didn't pick up the green bins. Rar. Hopefully what's in there at the moment will die off a bit so I can shove more in - I might try and do a few quick weeding sessions in the evenings now it's lighter (& warmer!).

:www: MFW Wonderment: ham sandwich (leftover roast ham & going to waste bun) with potato salad (cooked up a few extra potatoes yesterday and mixed with veg that was on its way out) for lunch. Quite a win! Going to raid the fridge in a bit and use up the rest of the veg in a bean casserole (will all go into freezer for future lunches) and there's some pastry to be used up, so veg tart is on the cards too.

£2.6something on the way from TCB.

:coffee: Simple Pleasures: there's enough room in the kitchen for me to do high kicks! Exercising whilst cooking, what a life :A :rotfl:

:heartsmil Burrow Building: Tidied up random bags that have been living in the bathroom since we arrived. Organised some stuff that's to be stored in our little summerhouse (including toilet roll tubes that I'll use for more planting escapades). It finally looks tidier in there, which is a such a relief!

Decluttered: umbrella, two towels, a dress. No idea when I'll get all this to the charity shop though it's just down the road. Planned to do that today but gardening/washing machine/cooking has taken over!

    Feeling less achey today, hooray!

:www: MFW Wonderment: Found 2p! :T Straight into the Kitty Bank. Gosh it feels nice to find some pennies again and it starts to make up for the 15p I had to walk past a few weeks ago (too many people about and saw it too late, argh!).

Updated MFiT - bit of a step back for this chart update as it cost a good £2k+ to move, but given recent savings exploits I should be back on track by the end of year :j (I updated and then remembered I have my S&S ISA ticking away in the background, which currently sits at £910 :T)

What else? Went to work (the day sped by - always nice), scooped up random bits from the cupboard for lunch.

:coffee: Simple Pleasures: walking past the most gorgeous cream-painted cottage on the way into town, which had a sage-coloured door and wisteria :smileyhea blooming all over it. Heaven! #housegoals

:heartsmil Burrow Building: managed to tick off a few housey jobs with this new burst of energy. Thankfully all of these things (vacuuming packing winter things, organising a cupboard) make the house much more homely and 'sorted' - sighs of relief all round.

Ooh! Watching Grand Designs on live tv has paid off (usually fast forward ads), this starts next week - how to live mortgage free with Sarah Beeny. Looks verrrry interesting.

Today ticked along quite quickly, hurrah. Almost time for our little (last minute & cheap!) weekend away down in the south west - can't wait!

:www: MFW Wonderment: loads of cheap cards & a few pressies bought in the papierchase sale. Also picked up some mixing bowls in M&S I've been after for ages (20% off :D).

Saw 1p on the escalator, couldn't snatch it up though :o

:heartsmil Simple Pleasures: making little maps of my new garden - I've plotted as many plants as possible so I can remember what's what!

:heartsmil Burrow Building: had fun writing (ok, very late) Easter cards this evening.

Super busy day, needed to do some work and of course a bunch of distractions waylaid all my plans. Hey ho! The day sped by and here we are - at least I'm closer to an entire weekend of (much needed) fun & games!

:www: MFW Wonderment: had great feedback from work, so all happy there. Omigosh, two weeks til payday - bring it on!

Omelettes for tea, cheap and cheerful.

:coffee: Simple Pleasures: cups of frothy coffee when they were badly needed!

:heartsmil Burrow Building: it's so amazing to have s p a c e! Things get whipped in and out of the dishwasher and into their proper cupboard homes in an instant. Oh the joys.

Whoops... forgot to press post on this! Bed time now :rotfl:
