Life sounds like it's going really well for you at the moment Pearla! I hope going back to work doesn't dent that for you, I'm sure it won't.
I've not heard of that book before - will check it out. A book based on lists sounds right up my street!Mortgage free 16/06/2023! £132,500 cleared in 11 years, 3 months and 7 days

It's definitely a book for list-lovers, themadvix
That's probably why I never tire of it

Once again, I had no idea so much time had passed since I was last here.
Very mad few weeks... have felt horribly wiped out (one thing after another after another), but thankfully am on the mend now... though flipping heck, it's so hot nothing much is getting done around here at all.
Managed to get some washing out on the line so it can dry off this afternoon (thanks to the heat I'm finally hitting the bottom of the washing pile that we've been trying to sort out since we moved  - every blanket and scrap of linen around the place was used to package stuff so it all needed freshening up).
Not much has been happening lately, have been too exhausted to even watch the tellybox and have been sleeping lots(!)
:www: MFW Wonderment: have been eating salad out of the garden :T Blackcurrants, raspberries, apples & pears are all looking good too :T Mr M also planted some french beans & chillies for us and I have carrots, tomatoes and herbs springing up all over the place as well. Even if we only get a few bowls-worth of veggies out of the garden this year it's been tremendous fun what manages to grow.
Have been thinking for a number of years about doing some freelance work (not arty stuff but more akin to what I'm doing job-wise now). I never quite managed to do it before as the time was never really right and I wasn't quite what I wanted to do but now things seem to be falling neatly into place - so I've been writing up some businesses ideas/pondering things I'd need & want to do with it.
I think it'd be a bit of a mini side-project for now and build up slowly (e.g. only doing freelance projects I was really interested in - I'll probably do some freebie freelance stuff to start with to build up a portfolio and then in future only do small projects once in a while but make sure I was getting paid properly for it all). So a very long-term idea but I'm laying out a Plan Of Action and hope to have brought some things together by the end of this year. :T
Hopefully, as well, it means that I would effectively have a very flexible job so I could a) go completely self-employed here and/or b) means I have something lovely to fall back on if ever Mr M & I were to end up somewhere else in future (still a bit worried we're going to end up being Brexilesas who knows what's going to happen with all that stuff). Ultimately, though, it means I can add some skills which will help in current job so all in all, it makes sense to build things up in the background so I have options later.
Other MFW things... only saved about £250 this month due to sorting out holiday monies but should be back on track next month - 11 sleeps til pay day!
:coffee: Simple Pleasures: an afternoon of Harry Potter (why is it so great and why do I get the feeling that I'll end up founding a real-life Hogsmeade somewhere?); freshly cut sweet peas from the garden; a pile of books.
:heartsmil Burrow Building: obviously have done some very important research recently (see above) into what makes a happy, burrowy Burrow. Feeling inspired to continue decluttering tat and make sure the house is filled simply with things that spark burrow-like joy. Have been organising my art materials and have got an idea for doing a daily sketchbook-style activity. Might try and bring that to fruition later today.a penny picker upper. All sounding great with you PM. Loving the ideas of a "burrowy burrow", conjures up such a lovely image. Big Harry Potter fans here too. DS1 spent a summer working at Universal Studios in Florida a couple of years ago. He is a massive HP fan and was in seventh heaven. Oh wow, chumpy, that must have been so much fun for him. We visited Hogsmeade at Universal last year - bit surreal in the heat, but we were lucky to have a grey day on a return visit and it felt very atmospheric
I was very lucky with the garden today - picked an absolutely massive bunch of sweet peas and (what can only be described as) the bush still has masses of flowers on it.
Thank you, apple - I got myself so excited just talking about it I went away and spent several hours plotting/planning/building a website for my freelance adventures! Eep!a penny picker upper. :www: MFW Wonderment: made massive headway with freelance ideas since yesterday's post - exciting! I need to do a fair bit to bring it together, but hopefully I can find some guinea pigs to test things out on before long...
Have remembered that the summer sales have started, so should be able to get my mum her birthday present in amongst those
:coffee: Simple Pleasures: garden gym - spent a good half an hour or so this evening lugging the watering can about and heaving garden waste bins too and fro.
:heartsmil Burrow Building: watched more HP (research purposes). Really didn't get much done today in the heat. Felt quite wiped out again so mostly needed to rest.

We've just watched all the HP films again this month.
Good luck with the freelance venture, exciting stuff!0 -
I'm just about to read all the books again. Only read them for the first time last autumn!NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0

Thanks for the tip on the book Pearla - I bought a copy (secondhand, with Amazon vouchers, of course) and read it pretty much in one sitting. I'm waiting for DH to go through it and then we'll really start making plans
(Although my goal is that work on our house is finished by 31 December 2017 - and I keep repeating it to make sure it happens!).
I'm glad to hear you're feeling better and everything is burrowy at the Burrow! I must re-read HP, it's been a while!Mortgage free 16/06/2023! £132,500 cleared in 11 years, 3 months and 7 days
