We've just watched all the HP films again this month.

Good luck with the freelance venture, exciting stuff!

Thank you :D I'm just polishing off Deathly Hallows Part II... so emotional!
I'm just about to read all the books again. Only read them for the first time last autumn!

:D I was about to say that I'm long overdue reading the books again! I used to do it about once a year but it's been absolutely ages. I keep thinking I need to get through some of the unread stuff first but I hear them calling me....

Thanks for the tip on the book Pearla - I bought a copy (secondhand, with Amazon vouchers, of course) and read it pretty much in one sitting. I'm waiting for DH to go through it and then we'll really start making plans :) (Although my goal is that work on our house is finished by 31 December 2017 - and I keep repeating it to make sure it happens!).

I'm glad to hear you're feeling better and everything is burrowy at the Burrow! I must re-read HP, it's been a while!
Yay do! It sounds like we have the making of an HP bookclub here.... :rotfl:

& hurrah for getting your mitts on the book (loving the purchasing prowess!), I'm glad you liked it - it completely changed my life, I've knocked off so much of my To Do List For Life, it's been brilliant :D (But yes, focus on getting that house sorted first ;))

Just realised I've forgotten to water all the plants today, and after such a sweltering 24 hours. Argh. Hopefully they'll last another day... though might try and get up a bit earlier & check on them tomorrow.

:www: MFW Wonderment: went to work and pottered on through it... a few annoyances are rumbling on in the background but hey ho, all out of my control so won't get het up about it. Ooh, 9 days til payday!

Grabbed a few bits in Aldee for lunch - could easily have been led astray (to more expensive shop, or even tempted to buy unneeded treats) but was not! :T

Not so MFW: apparently I left the bathroom light & extractor on all day. Drats.

:coffee: Simple Pleasures: Mr M & I have been watching http://allthestations.co.uk recently (youtube documentary series of ten minute videos following an epic trip around all the train stations in the UK) - it's utterly charming and funny, I'm so glad we came across it.

:heartsmil Burrow Building: as you see, HP research continues apace. :p

Had a nice evening cooking a lovely black bean soup. Must get back into cooking from scratch again (we've got a bit lazy over the last few weeks), it's so nice.

Yesterday was a bit of a write off - hideous headache and straight to bed after work. Much more normal today, thank heavens!

:www: MWF Wonderment: stocked up on veggies & super 6 munchies at Aldee.

My CC app told me the other day I was well off the limit (am stopping money on this card) but logged in last night to see I was suddenly £2 over! Have no idea how that occurred, the app must have been behind the times :( Cue paying over some monies to shore it up and a frantic email to CC company. Thankfully they've told that should it incur any charge they'll refund it. :T Will need to keep an eye on all that though. :o

Not long til payday and looking at my hours last month it looks like I'll have my biggest pay check yet. Woohoo! Hope my savings account is ready! :D

:coffee: Simple Pleasures: flicking through a free magazine.

:heartsmil Burrow Building: making plans with friends :)

Hola. Effects of the migraine have lingered on, annoyingly, so between that and work, life hasn't exactly moved on much, but...

:www: MWF Wonderment: Almost £170 claimed from £co/tcb! :j

Picked a bowlful of berries from the garden, think I might make them into a pie with some apples that need using up.

Mr M & I used our waitflower cards for two free coffees at the weekend :) Had to get out the house for some air, literally only managed to do that & pick up something for tea and had to come home again to collapse on the sofa.

Went to HSBTwee today (had no other choice but to go into town and see them) - almost impossible to pay off my stoozed CC, I ended up having to walk to my other bank, take out a princely sum in cash, then come back to pay off the card! Felt like I was in the 1870s or something. The other option was to pay by cheque - do cheques still exist? Gosh, my whole experience of them has just been awful - maybe they should spend more on banking infrastructure than shiny TV ads? Puts it all into perspective when you compare to another CC I have where I simply Live Chat via the website and things are sorted in an instant.

:coffee: Simple Pleasures: pottering about the garden in the evening (we have flowers along the path to the garden that throw out the most amazing scent in the evenings)

:heartsmil Burrow Building: picked up one of the half-read coffee table-style books I had on the shelf (Britain's Tree Story) and worked my way through a bit of that on Sunday afternoon. Bliss :) Plus it's given me lots of ideas for adventures in nature!

Think I'm going to splash out and buy a bean bag - we have a spare room which I'm going to use for arty/crafty/yoga activities and such-like but there's no seating. A bean bag might just do the trick?

Am also thinking of using the room as a place to sit down and Focus On The Interwebs (either to write emails or do some writing for an allotted amount of time). Hopefully that'll make my time spent on the computer a bit more productive than it's been during my iPad experiment (vague bells ringing that I already waffled on about this - anyway - one step nearer now!)

Doing quite well (health-wise) with the upped fruit & veg at the moment - the stock up from Aldee has made all the difference.

Thanks for the nudge, apple! Can't believe it's been so long since I last posted :o

Things have been a bit :( My health has been rather zapped, think it's a combination of various things rather than anything too mad, but it's well and truly worn me out. Off to the docs to check up on things today and see if they have any ideas.

In the meantime, I've tried to get back onto the seriously straight and narrow eating-and-exercise-wise! Lots of veggie snacks, cutting out sugar and as many walks as possible. It seems to be slowly helping.

MFW-activities have continued on (in a passable manner), despite this. Have had some good money-saving wins with a few spendy moments too (but could have been a lot worse considering!).

:www: MFW Wonderment: have still been saving like a loon and continuing to work on a few things that might be helpful for freelance work in future (may have my first guinea pig to work with soon, thanks to Mr T's connections!).

We have a small self-catered holiday coming up so the current plan is to see how creative we can be money-saving-wise while we're there. Already got lots of supplies to take with us, so that's a start.

Was given a £20 gift card for M&S after some of their badly placed sale stock (glass bottle of oil) fell and shattered by my feet. Sandals covered in oil too, not sure yet if they'll be ok... sort of thinking I should have asked for more as the sandals were only a month old and were closer to £50(!). I went all British and 'oh don't worry about it' polite. Grr. Must work on that really as actually it'll be a complete pain if I need to buy more sandals. :p

Managed to source some work clothes for half the cost I was expecting. Huzzah! :T

Can't remember if there's been any other earth-shattering MFW news...

:coffee: Simple Pleasures: early nights with a good book to read!

:heartsmil Burrow Building: thoroughly enjoying our new abode now that it's vaguely organised - feels so much easier to cosy down and read/listen to music/enjoy pots of teas these days. Luverly. :D

We never ever keep to a food budget when away, as dh often does the shopping! He always overbuys. But then I have to go the next day to get fruit and veg! That said, the 2 left over sausages from tea will make us some tasty sarnies for tomorrow's adventurising, along with some cucumber, methinks.

Have a jolly time away together x

I'm definitely a believer that eating well makes a huge difference to your overall wellbeing. I cut out various food groups for 30 days and felt well and energised. I'm currently using sugar and caffeine as energy sources which is far from ideal.

    Burrow sounding very cosy indeed.

I'm planning to read the HP books for the first time soon (haven't even seen the films!)
