Oh my gosh, Cath, how have you managed to escape them?! That's pretty impressive, really. :rotfl: (Hope you enjoy them, they're great fun. The books don't totally get going until book 3 but it's well worth it in the end! I've not read them for ages, I almost picked one up the other day but I've determined to read some of the poor unread books still lingering on my shelves first).
I'd fallen back to using caffeine/sugar to keep going at workEven though I know it doesn't help in the long run it's so hard not to sometimes. I've gathered up lots of fruit teas to take to work with me, hoping these will help (and perhaps the sweetness will assist in combating the sugar cravings?).
Lol, apple, shop revisits for fruit & veg happen to me too.PS. Love a good dinner that sorts out lunch the next day too :T
Thanks, themadvix! It was so warm this morning but gone chilly again this afternoon, I'm all tucked up in a blanket with a silly film on the background. A bit of a knackering week... with no real reason for being so knackered, thankfully two solid days of resting have done wonders. :T
Popped to the docs again today, had a good chat (sadly she was only filling in and won't be my long term doctor which is a bit of a shame as it's so unusual to come across super lovely sensible doctors in my experience!) and it looks like everything is actually connected to my ME-related stuff. I've just not had these symptoms (or at least, all of them so strongly) for so long I'd forgotten it can get like this! We're going to do some blood tests anyway to check nothing else is going on but I'm pretty sure it's just the stresses and strains of the last several months that have snowballed into exhausting me.
Ultimately I know what makes me better - super healthy diet, gentle exercise, minimise stress (via yoga/relaxation/avoiding triggers etc). It'll probably take a while for things to settle down so I'll need to keep reminding myself not to expect too much too soon. Thank heavens it holiday time soon!
:www: MFW Wonderment: Mr M & I have been working our way through a One Pound Meals cookbook, found a nice little tartiflette recipe which I think we'll go back to time and time again (perfect for using up bits & bobs!)
Employed some of my project plotting/management skills (which I have finessed in my current job) to write up some materials for my freelance plan of action. Worked a little bit on my online materials for such ventures as well - slowly coming together. I've also plotted out a 5 Year Plan - basically KPI's for each year (got to have something to aim for!). Didn't manage to get anything done on it over the weekend (or today for that matter) but at least it's moving in the right direction...
Mr M & I went through the cupboards, alas some stuff had to be chucked (naughty MFWer) but at least some stuff we've caught in time and will gobble those up soon.
Saved MANY pennies by staying in all weekend.
Upped the monies going to my S&S ISA every month - I'm sending over 10% of my salary. The rest of my savings are split between rainy day fun & a stoozed cc. Once I pay off that cc (March next year), and my rainy day fund has been replenished (it took a major hit with the house move), then I'll up what I send over to the S&S account.
:coffee: Simple Pleasures: life has just been tea & netflix recently! Excited to see some of the dahlias I planted around about to bloom though.
:heartsmil Burrow Building: we had fun baking this weekend, hoping to make more of a habit of it as we do have a rather fantastic range cooker than actually cooks things properly and we must make the most of it (so exciting after years of making do with useless cheap machines!).a penny picker upper. Feeling a bit better today, made it out for a short walk (but it was utterly roasting so I can forgive myself for not going as far as usual). Also had a little stint weeding and chopping down the jungle in the garden, it's looking a little more sensible in there now.
Our backdoor also (alarmingly) suddenly looked to be covered in black mold  so I got the Serious Cleaning Spray onto it and also gave the entire door (front & back) a good scrub and it's looking healthier now!
:www: MFW Wonderment: Lovely tea of wholewheat pasta with a bacon/onion/savoy cabbage & olive oil topping. So scrumptious. And there's some leftover for lunch tomorrow. :T
Mr M is currently testing out a million different travel options for our trip away to find the cheapest tickets...
:coffee: Simple Pleasures: there are several utterly fantastic old trees on my walking route (a few are the most magnificent-looking oak trees), and it's so fun to visit them and watch them slowly turn colour - autumn is definitely on its way :smileyhea
The walking route also curves along like a little country lane, with trees overhanging the route in a very whimsical manner... if only there were horses trotting past rather than buzzy cars.

Hello hello (again :rotfl:)
Not been away yet - keep thinking it's just around the corner but I've still got several sleeps to go, boo!
I'm trundling along, had a super busy couple of weeks with work and seriously looking forward to the weekend! Feeling much better than I did but still a bit meh. Currently awaiting blood tests back but I reckon it's just old chronic health problems getting tricksy again.
Gosh, no exciting money news at all. Same old stuff ticking along really! Counting down to payday too - should be a good one, can't wait to plump up the savings again!
Really, really can't wait for my holiday! :cool:a penny picker upper. Right. So. Had an interesting reminder of how quickly something can happen at work to Really Put You Off Being There.
Things ended up ok by this afternoon, but oh my - good to remember why a) an emergency fund is SO important and b) why financial freedom can't come soon enough!
Think I'm going to read that Living on One Pound A Day book again to get inspired and reboot the old moneysaving mindset!
Also - must get spending diary going away. It's fallen by the wayside due to health issuesNot that money hadn't been kept in check, but I'd rather track everything to the Nth degree.
In better news - blood tests all came back ok, hurrah!
Quiet weekend in planed - gardening, reading books, and pottering about! Can't wait wait.a penny picker upper.
