I think you're right - it's definitely best to give it a whirl and see what happens

It'll definitely be strange to be living in a house again - I've only lived in white boxes for the last several years  I can't believe I'll have to walk up stairs to go to bed. Madness!

Howdy!
Oh dear, I'd planned to post after all those replies but then I had to head straight for bed - which has kind of been the theme for the last few weeks! Not entirely sure what's been lurking, probably fighting off a virus and various stressy things not helping but thankfully feeling more human now! Binge-watching/reading the news probably isn't helping but egads, feeling quite RAR! about things at the moment... got to find some sort of creative, helpful outlet (although focussing on being a nice, loving person is probably as good a start as any!)
Not loads to report - have just been trying to get through work then pretty much coming home and heading straight to bed, mad!
Hope everyone is ok out there in MFW-land - I've been so terrible at popping up on threads to say hello but have been lurking & cheering everyone on from the sidelines
:www: MFW Wonderment: found 20p! And 5p! All safely nestled in the Kitty Bank.
Lots of serious eating up of the freezer contents recently (actually, everything I've eaten today has been from the freezer, haha - pancakes for breakfast, fancy bread for snacks and fish & veggies for tea)
Suddenly remembered that BzzAgent existed so logged back on and did a ton of surveys to try and get invited back onto some campaigns. Think I'll give that sort of thing another big bash once I've moved. I know I was thinking of letting surveys slide for a while but maybe I can put a little bit of time each week towards Bzz & getting money out of OnePoll & YouGov to at least get out of them what's just sitting there. Plus with crafty side hustle, maybe I can bring in some lovely extra pennies. Even if it just pays for a haircut that would be handy!
Have barely spent a thing this month! Go me! Determined not to buy anything not absolutely necessary for the next few months - if I can do that it'll make moving so much easier. I don't really think there's anything I need anyway. I bought some new tights (definitely needed - all others suddenly holey), but otherwise pretty much everything is in good shape.
8 days til payday!
Resisted some stuff on the Bay of E. Keep meaning to list a few things on there before we move, might try and finish that off tomorrow.
Ziffited some more DVDs (proud of Mr M for deciding to shift a whole boxload!). Should get about £5.
Took advantage of Amazon flash £10 off £50 spend the other day, perfect timing that. Apparently there's an offer via Amex to get £15 off £25, must look into that (info via headforpoints.com).
Suddenly thought - I've not got any freebies for a while. I used to live off free toothpaste. Might try and keep on top of such things again as well.
Ultimately - I just need to use my laptop more often! Which I'm using now and which actually lets me zoom about the internet at far greater speeds! Even if it's an hour or so on my days off, it'll pay off. Must try and make my days off more structured and productive!
:coffee: Simple Pleasures: a nice tidy garden (cleared up the balcony and it looks so much nicer now); tea and tea and tea and some toast; books, glorious books! I'm onto Wuthering Heights now, and think I might hit the complete collection of Jane Austen next...
:heartsmil Burrow Building: realising how overwhelmed we are still with Stuff. Going to crack the Konmari book open again after writing this to get inspired again - definitely going to sit down and properly go through the process once we've moved (& I have proper space to lay everything out and go through it). I had a flashback to when I got rid of quite a few things and yes - there's stuff I loved and there's stuff here now that I would love to keep but actually, having Calmness and space, space in my days of Not-Looking-After-Stuff so I can spend the time on things I Really Want To Do, is something I would love more. Bring on the exodus!

Took a couple of bags to the charity shop today :T then popped into Waitflower to pick up a cake for Mr M's birthday (also picked up some party bits & wrapping paper as I didn't want to go into town but after I left I realised that I could have walked in another direction and gone to The Range for cheap bits & bobs (would probably have spent the same but just bought more
). Anyway, drats! Am obviously still not 100% if I didn't remember that one(!). You live, you learn.
Found something that should help me in regards to my utter vexation at Current Events - https://www.womensmarchlondon.com/10-actions/ thought I'd post it in case it helps/is of interest to anyone else.
:www: MFW Wonderment: Explored the cupboards for nice things I can have for work lunches (& therefore use up before the move), have got quite a list. Oh, and used up a can of soup for tea.
Which inspired the writing up of a list of super easy teas for future (second half of the week we don't get home til late so looking for nice, easy things to have on hand - and just need to remember to make such things more often. So far thinking: soup, beans on toast, omelette, need more ideas though....?!
:coffee: Simple Pleasures: a cup of sweet coffee, perfectly timed; forgot to mention the beautiful fox Mr M & I saw sitting in a field (we were passing on the train) the other day :smileyhea
:heartsmil Burrow Building: have reread The Life-Changing Magic of Tidying and am feeling VERY excited to finally start working through her method properly! Reading the book reminded me that this is all about creating an environment that best serves me in the here and now. I'm quite close really, as I've generally followed the idea of only keeping things that spark joy/happy memories for a good 20 years or so (yikes, it really has been that long since I decided to quit being Queen Hoarder!) but things do creep in (or rather, serve their purpose and aren't then discarded) so I can't wait to refresh my belongings againa penny picker upper. For busy days when you get home late we love our slow cooker. We look out for reduced joints in supermarket and they normally last 2 nights when cooked.
We use our slow cooker a lot.
Other ideas for fast meals include pizzas and salad or pasta parcels and a sauce ?0 -

Thanks Debs & INOD! Those ideas have certainly got my brain whirring :T I think the answer might be running a month-or-so-long meal plan for the awkward days, and then going on a weekly/bi-weekly plan for the easier days (& use up leftovers for potato fillings/pasta sauces etc? Oooh). :think:a penny picker upper.
