Hey PM
Glad you had a good holiday and so jealous on how organised you are.
MCI xMortgage Free x 1 03.11.2012 - House rented out Feb 2016
Mortgage No 2: £82, 595.61 (31.08.2019)
OP's to Date £8500
Renovation Fund:£511.39;
Nectar Points Balance: approx £30 (31.08.2019)0 -
I'm not sure I'm that organised MCI. Most of the presents to people were already half-packaged up as they mostly consist of birthday presents I failed to send earlier in the year :rotfl: ...and I've still technically still to send them...
And other 'organising' was usually in the place of doing something more important I should have been doing
Picked up a few little bits in the shops last night for Mr Merle's stocking. Handily the Marks & Sparks festive chocolate globe scanned at half price :T Chuffed with that.
Random-assortment-of-veg casserole last night with more here for today's lunch
Polished off another book last night... the To Read pile slowly diminishes...
I'm up terribly early :eek:a penny picker upper. Merry Christmas, Kitten! Merry Christmas everyone! :rudolf: :xmastree:
I hope you're all having a lovely holiday. I managed to badly arrange it so I'm back at work this week, ho hum. Doing random catch-up things, so not too bad but would rather be at home watching films and eating
Very quickly nipping in for a quick catchup with more news at a later date (been awake since 5.30am, am quite delirious now!). Very quiet Christmas here. Exhausting though, as we went to see a house (still just renting) literally just before Christmas and spent the last few days working on our sums and whatnot and upshot is that we will be moving soon :j I literally can't even contemplate packing all this stuff up so am just focusing on how lovely it'll be when we have lots of space and a GARDEN OMG!
Shall chatter about it more later, and also plot some (now to be slightly revised) financial goals!
Some MFW news:- Found 5p then 1p glittering on the pavement.
- Lots of leftovers have been eaten up - I love a picnic tea!
- Have thus far pretty much avoided the sales, which is great as...
- I received my biggest pay check ever today! Did loads of overtime last month (equates to almost an extra week!) so am rather thrilled. It'll mostly be going towards moving costs now though
- Lovely trip to Costco with a money-saving friend! Picked up some handy stuff so we're well stocked for a goodly while.
- Lots of books received for Christmas which will keep me out of trouble for ages
Oh dear, I'm fading... must meander to bed. Oh, but I leave you with a... :heartsmil Simple Pleasure: knitting a scarf (somewhat drunkenly, I confess) while watching a film on Christmas day. Heaven :smileyheaa penny picker upper. A new home sounds so very exciting! tell us more :heartpuls
Fab work on all that lovely overtime too- nice little cushion for your moving expensesat my workplace I'm not able to claim overtime, it's just expected that you'll do additional hours to get the work done which is a big gripe for me.
What are your plans for New Years & did you finish that (drunken) scarf?First home- Oct’16 until June’21: £170.995- Overpayments made £13,784 (25% extra!).

Hi Perla, I've just finished reading your diary from the beginnning - I love your MFW wonderment, Simple Pleasures and Burrow Building segments and you seem to have a very holistic and balanced approach to life - it makes for lovely reading!
Look forward to hearing about the move and adventures of 2017!Mortgage free 16/06/2023! £132,500 cleared in 11 years, 3 months and 7 days

Ooh, thank you themadvix, that must have taken you some time! I just realised the other day that I'd ticked off my third anniversary... and goodness knows I chatter on whenever I manage to post
Thank you, KittenI'd hoped to get on before now to catch up and plot some plans but what with seeing family over new year, returning to work and feeling a bit under the weather I've not had a chance. Thought I'd nip in this eve and keep my oar in all this MFW stuff though
MFW news... found 20p at a seaside carpark :T; saving lots of money by going back on the straight & narrow food-wise; have done some MAJOR resisting of temptation in the sales *pats self on back*
Will probably crash into bed early again tonight... hopefully will catch up properly over the weekend! Hope everyone's ok out there in MFW-land :wave:a penny picker upper.
