Just a quick post on Frugal things done today.

Cut Ds and hubby's hair. Must be a saving of about £17.50

    Have repaired:-
    Some holes in socks
    A hole in DD's leggings
    A tear in Ds's shorts
A hole in Dd's wool dress

Also Ds does not have any school shorts but he did have a pair of school trousers that had gotten too short in the leg. Well I made them into shorts today. Hopefully they look ok.

Both children are getting very short on clothes. Was very embarrassed at a friends house yesterday. My friend mentioned to my Dd that the button was un-done on her shorts, to which she replied that they didn't fit her anymore so she leaves the button undone :o.

Wish the kids would stop growing for a year or so!!

Anyway.....I feel like its been a successful day. I have lengthened the life out of some clothes and gotten both the men in the house's hair cut.

Think I might bake a cake in a minute, give us something sweet to eat. xx

Home reared sausages potato salad and maybe a little pot of chives is far superior to anything you would have bought. Only danger is everyone else will start inviting you for your goodies! Have a nice time

    Hi Dawn

Really weird. I did a big reply to you and wantabetterlife yesterday but it seems to have disappeared.

My son is nearly 10 and a size 4 shoe. Make sure you let me know how much postage will be and I will pay for it, don't want you to be out of pocket. We are all trying to sort our finances out. Thank you so much, I am truly grateful for anything, even mucking around in the garden clothes help xxx

    Thank you Bess and Buffy,

We did go. I made a potato Salad and some home reared sausages, a dusty old bottle of wine and also picked a pretty bunch of flowers from the garden.

Seemed to go down well and we had a lovely time. Was abit naughty and kiddies didn't end up in bed till 9pm on a school night but the time just flew by.

Thanks for all your help xx

    Hi wantabetterlife,

I typed up a long message to you yesterday, I can't believe it hasn't posted :(.

Thank you so much for the offer of some clothes for my dd. She is wearing size 8 clothes and is a size 13 shoes, but really anything would be great, if they are too big then I can maybe take them in to fit her. Like I said to Dawnybabes above, We don't go out much so nothing needs to be fancy or stain-free for playing in the garden.

Thank you soooo much. I will pay you back for the postage costs because I know what the Royal Mail are like nowadays .
Yes our address is the same as the Orchard Goose address.

Can't believe you guys, it restores your faith in human nature sometimes when you are all being so kind. I will make a little something for you both from the Orchard Goose as a big thankyou. xxxxx

Hi Steph, pleased that it all worked out for the bbq. It is lovely of the girls to send some clothes on to you they are:A:A:A:A:D

I used to receive clothes passed on to me from a much better off friend of the family and I loved having some new (and much needed) things, that is probably why I always buy my kit now from CS, e-bay and clothes agencies, I like nice things and natural fibres and could never afford new my extensive wardrobe.

We have been to a NT property today with the most amazing and varied gardens, it forecast some rain, but decided to go anyway, we had a beautiful sunny day and it started raining in stair rods just after we got home - lucky or what:D:D

    Take care and keep plodding.
