Hi Steph I'm so glad that you went to the BBQ and also had a lovely time, good to see yourself enjoying yourself x

I think you are doing a fab job on the finances and the fact that you have been able to see where the problem came from and then be able to deal with it although it will be a tough month ahead and you learn from these little hiccups.

How lovely that the kind hearted forum members are sending you some clothes, I've never known a forum so supportive both online and in RL.

Glad you had a good time at the BBQ Steph, its good to get out of the house and I think it helps to recharge the batteries as it is draining focusing on debt busting all the time :)
Those bits are in the post, it really is not a problem. People give me clothes all the time and a couple of these things I have just passed on to you...so its like paying it forward :)

Hi Steph, pleased that it all worked out for the bbq. It is lovely of the girls to send some clothes on to you they are:A:A:A:A:D

I used to receive clothes passed on to me from a much better off friend of the family and I loved having some new (and much needed) things, that is probably why I always buy my kit now from CS, e-bay and clothes agencies, I like nice things and natural fibres and could never afford new my extensive wardrobe.

We have been to a NT property today with the most amazing and varied gardens, it forecast some rain, but decided to go anyway, we had a beautiful sunny day and it started raining in stair rods just after we got home - lucky or what:D:D

    Take care and keep plodding.

I am lost for words to tell the truth. Thank you so much for all your help ladies in both words and actions. :heartsmil.

I shopped around today and have managed to get the price down for hubbys 2 Van tyres from £83 each to £52 each. That feels good, it is booked in for Saturday morning.

Been feeling abit low lately but I am trying to keep going. Just stemming the tide of money going out is so hard. Thank you again ladies. This forum is just something else :)

I received a £30 payment for some craft work today and I paid it straight against NEXT.

Steph, just keep looking at the totals, June has only just begun and you have paid off 51% of your 2014 target and more than half of the Next, as well as completely clearing the others:T

    Hi MTG

Yes this forum and the ladies on it are truly amazing. Such great people. I couldn't be more grateful. That's the trouble having a boy and a girl. Hand me downs are pretty non existent. My Dd does wear her brothers old trainers around the garden to knock about in but I don't let her out in them. She would look way too scruffy.

Had a lovely Bbq and it only cost me a pack of our sausages and some potatoes. Phew...

    Morning all

Not much to report today except that I have been playing with the Mortgage Calculator on this forum.

My plan is after next July WHEN we have paid off the debt. We will then spend the rest of the year saving up abit more of an emergency fund.

Would really like to get about 6k saved. This would cover hubby for two months of no wages and also any emergencies.

Then I would love to start paying off extra on the mortgage.
We currently owe 132k over 23 years.

According to the mortgage calculator, if I pay an extra £500 per month we will over half that term, down to 10 years.

That means I could nearly been mortgage free by 50 :T.

I know this is all pie in the sky at the moment, but I am always a fan of looking forward to see where we could be if I stuck to the plan.

I did look at continuing to pay 1k per month off the mortgage which would kill it within 6 years, but don't think I could cope with a life like this for another 6 years :(.

At least if we halved what we were paying out, so it makes living life a little nicer but also paying off extra on the mortgage.

Just a dreaming morning for me. Back to my cleaning xx

    Morning

Finally a quiet day here in the Stressed house.

Its been a hectic week so far, what with helping with the schools PTA, doing a craft night for Dd's Brownie group and also being the secretary for our Village Ladies group which met last night.

Can you tell from the above my inability to say NO to anything ;).

So having a coffee and catching up with internet stuff, then will tidying around the house and at lunchtime head down to the polytunnel to get some much needed work done in there.

Hubby drove me nuts last night. One of his friends turned up after having just gotten back from France with a box of tobacco for him. £110 :mad:. Now hubby has £10 out of his fun money each week for tobacco, and this French tobacco is loads cheaper, but I can't pay this guy £10 per week for the next 11 weeks can I. Grrrrrrrr

So I have decided to pay him out of the Birthday money fund, BUT each week I will move his £10 FUN money back into the Birthday savings pot. Its the only way I can deal with it.
I asked him NICELY if he could maybe chat with me next time he gets an offer like that so I can at least get some advance notice to help me figure out how to pay for it!! MEN!!

Car battery has been playing up this week and the car keeps not starting. Hubby had it charging all night so I am hoping it will be ok from now on. Just feel like the car knows its MOT is coming and bits are starting to fall off.

Hanging in there though, hubby will be fitting the new part to his van tonight and tyres are being changed Saturday so will hopefully book the Van in for the MOT next week, then its on to my car. Eeeeek

Hope you are having a good week. Rainy day here today.

Just found this chart on my YNAB budget and thought I would post it to give me inspiration to keep going.
The red columns show how my debt is going down each month and the pink below shows how my Net worth is slowly coming up out of such a huge minus figure.

Getting there, it certainly helps to see charts like this.

That chart is really neat, a good motivator I think:D

:eek:to hubby and the tobacco, but it is great that you can now cover it, you really have moved forward a long way thanks to YNAB and your persistence haven't you?

P.S. have you checked ahead to find the other 5 week months coming up so that you can have a grand plan ready?
