Thank you Sweetpea,
Think June is going to be even tougher0 -
Ok so I have had a very cold hard look at my budget and my expenses for May.
Somehow STUPIDLY in April I ended up somehow without realising paying in 5 weeks worth of wages. It looked like I did really well with my debt repayments but it was a false positive.
Since then May has proved a struggle because it pushed me too far into the month, relying on hubbys 30th May wage packet to be included in May, when it really should have been in June.
So I feel like I am a week behind Grrrrrrrr.
So I have decided to have a uber UBER frugal June. If I can manage to live on beans and rice and not make ANY extra un-needed payments or purchases then we can possibly scrape by on three weeks wages. This would then catch us back up and be in a better place for July. I should still be able to make my 1k debt repayments, but I have lots of leaks to stop.
Food being one of them and misc childrens expenses. These seem to be the two main leaking points for our budget.
I haven't quite made the 1k payments for May but got to £914, so near as damn it. Also didn't manage to get under the 15k mark, but think I was a little over ambitious hoping to do this.
Phew....Its a constant War to wage isn't it. So so easy to make a slight !!!! up and really cause problems.
Going to really up my game with the Orchard Goose sales and will also start adding things onto Ebay and Amazon as much as possible.
Have updated my Signature and will commence battle tomorrow on the 1st June xxx0 -

Aarggh got my first June Challenge.
We have been invited to a BBq with someone in our village. We don't know them very well, but two other families we are friends with are also going.
Trouble is we need to take some BBQ bits and drink. Of which we don't really have.
So do we still go but just take a pack of homemade sausages and 1 bottle of wine I have stashed away.
Or make our excuses (somehow) and not go.
To tell the truth we are not overly bothered about going, we just accepted out of politeness.
Please help me with my dilemma. I cannot just pop to the supermarket for expensive bbq bits as I have only allowed us £60 food budget each week.0 -

What about home made potato salad or coleslaw? Cheap and always goes down well. Or Ferns idea of desserts is a good one. Just think it will be one less meal at home you have to cook aswell so factor that inCredit card £4461.15Home mortgage £137117Buy to let mortgage £83,0000

Hi wantabetterlife,
Am thinking maybe I will take a pack of our sausages and also some potato salad.
I was feeling abit down on the idea of going as its a Sunday night, don't have the money to get fancy stuff to go etc, but after your comment on it being one less meal to cook at home, I am quite tempted to just take what we can and brave face it.
Need to do a seriously clever menu plan for this coming week as I am hoping to not do a food shop, or at the most an absolutely tiny one.
Ok off to perform a menu plan miracle. Thanks for all your help xx0
