  • It's thanks to people like you Steph who keep people like me going, despite all the difficulties you will be £50 shy of your monthly target that's blooming well done in my book.

I too think of all the things we're missing out on the main one being a family holiday abroad but we'll get there and in the mean time we have plenty of the UK to camp in and explore.

I will be thinking of you when the van is having the MOT and sending good vibes for a positive check.

    Hi Steph,

I'm really interested in what you make but have no idea how to find your page. Any chance you would put the link up again?

You are doing brilliantly and it doesn't matter what others say. At least you are doing something really important for your family - not just getting back on track financially but also getting them fit and healthy and out to the great outdoors. Woo hoo....

    Hi Chrysalis

Thank you so much hun.

I didn't even think of the foreign holiday, I can't imagine EVER being able to afford one of those again. I cringe at the thought of the cost of a meal out, let alone £2000 for a holiday. hehe. One day...

Funny you say about a holiday, as I was chatting to one of my best friends yesterday and she is off to Ibiza old town in two weeks time and was explaining about the new credit card she has just ordered to take with her .
I just sat there thinking, how that was the old me, and how I could NEVER imagine EVER being able to justify doing that now.
    Think I may have turned a corner....Finally :D

Yes please send your positive vibes tomorrow. We need all we can get :)

    Thanks for posting eco Farmer,
Hearing that it wasn't much different makes me feel abit better, thank you.
I know a day trip out is a silly thing to feel deprived of, but I love wandering round places like that. Trouble is I couldn't even really justify the £23 family entry ticket let alone all the Pester Power the children would unleash on me when I got inside :)
You are right about the snowball, by the end of this year, I will have three debts (NEXT, Littlewoods & Co-op cc) all finishing around the same time. This will then give me a massive payment for the next debt. Just got to keep plodding :o

Still a work in progress and the things I am making are evolving all the time. I am trying out framed applique pictures soon, once I get chance to get one finished.

Thanks for your kind words. I hope my children think that when they are feeling the burn on the way to school haha.

Hi Steph, here's wishing you luck with the MOT. With those pesky 5 week months at least you are aware of them & can plan a bit. Shame about War Horse <wistful> that would have been really good. Only bits I have seen was the horse on top of that building during the Queen's Diamond Jubilee Thames pageant & some news items about the production. Would it be possible to factor in an early Xmas present? If as you say your friend knows about your debt busting she might be up for a frugal trip apart from the tickets. Hope I'm not leading you into temptation here as you are doing so well. This time next year you will look back with much satisfaction at the results of your determination & hard work. Cheers Bl1

    Hi Baglady,

The friend that suggested the War Horse trip is the one that has just applied for the credit card for her holiday so when I last asked her if she had booked up, she said she wasn't sure if she could afford it either. So doubt its going to happen.
We don't normally buy each other Christmas presents as there is usually enough panic about affording the childrens presents :o, definitely something I want to change as we get rid of the debt. (I want a present :().

Van has gone off for the MOT. Asked the chap to just make a list of any failures and the prices. Hubby is quite handy so if any brakes or lights need changing then he can do that at home.

    Hi wantabetterlife,

I must find time to read my diary back at the beginning. I definitely remember being in a state of panic and thoroughly depressed about our situation. I must remind myself that things HAVE gotten a lot better, even though I am still juggling bills, at least everyone gets paid now and I am less terrified of the postman and the phone ringing.

    Thanks for posting xx
  • Steph you really are inspirational. I have been catching up and you just keep going, I am so sure you will reach you goal (and get to go on all your trips)

    Impressive stuff :)

    Good luck with the MOT
