Hi Buffy,
Glad im not the only UK person loving Dave Ramsey. There is so much of him online, he is an easy "go to" for inspiration.wantabetterlife wrote: »I bought this book too steph..it is a good read but not really any different than the you tube videos etc but definitely a good buy for £6..i think I paid double that!. Hi wantabetterlife,
I must admit my hubby can't stand him, think its the accent and the slogans. I have always loved americans and their over enthusiastic ways.
I love watching peoples "Debt Free Screams" and Dave's phone in's.
Good to hear you are hooked toodebtfreewannabe321 wrote: »How did the van go on the MOT? X
Hi DFW,
Well it FAILED, but we knew it would. Not badly though. It needs two new tyres and something called 2 x Drop links.
I am going to ring around tomorrow for two cheap tyres and hubby thinks he can replace these Drop link thingys and has found the parts on Ebay for half what the garage quoted.
I think tyres are around £60-£70 each, so I think worst case scenario, the van will cost around £200 including MOT £40 to get sorted.
This is pretty good news and leaves me with about £500 for the car.
Hurdle 1 just about dealt with :T.
Will get the van safely through and then in a couple of weeks i will brave the car.
Pretty pleased though. xxx0 -
Ah good news despite the failure, hope you get some good deals on all the bits that need replacing.

Morning Steph, im really pleased the van will pass the MOT for you, such a relief. Lets hope you dont need the £500 for the car. Do you do small checks like tyres, oil etc before you take them in? xxMummytogirls x0

Thanks for the cheers for the MOT. Will get the tyres sorted next week and parts ordered.
Waiting impatiently for hubbys wages to go in this weekend.
Need to pay our last two debt payments this month. Super late but better than never.
I am paying £200 to Virgin cc, and I have been paying £100 pm to the Co-op cc but just realised that the minimum payment is only £30. So have decided to pay £30 to co-op and then £80 extra onto NEXT.Not snowballing properly otherwise.
That should make a total of 1k debt payments in May !!
Finally looks like we are getting the £80 owed to us from some folks down the road that hubby did a little job for. They are meant to be bringing up a cheque today.
Won't make it for my May Debt payments but will throw that against NEXT as soon as it arrives.
Not a lot else to report really. Kids go back to school on Tuesday next week. Then I can get back into my old routine. xx
Have a great weekend all x0
