    Hi Steph,

I hope you don't mind me posting but I have been reading your diary over the past few evenings and I must say that you are such an inspiration! I am new to this debt free wannabe thing having recently had my LBM and I must say that it has been a huge help reading about yours, it has made me feel much more positive about the journey I am now starting on (I too want to be debt free by 40!)

So massive thank you and the best of luck for the rest of your journey xx

  • Morning all,

So so sorry I went missing last week, it was a supremely hectic week.

Last Tuesday we had FIL's wedding which went off well, lovely weather and no hiccups so they are happy.

Then Wednesday and Thursday I spent 12 hours cleaning a ladys house in the village. She went away on holiday and asked if I could blitz her house from top to bottom. So I went straight from school 9am till 320pm both days and have been paid £100. It took me 2 hours longer than planned so I am half hoping she might pay me a little more but not guaranteed.

Then Friday my children had an Inset day so they came with me to my cleaning job 10 till 1pm.

No respite over the weekend which was filled with yet more cider making from the apples on our trees, so I spent ALL DAY Saturday chopping apples, but we did have some help from some close friends so that was a massive help.

Sunday was yet more dashing around and trying to get washing and homework sorted with children before back to school today.

I am now sat in a very quiet but extremely messy house. It is now time to get control of my own mess :o

Embarrassingly I haven't yet found a chance to call Tesco about my credit card, although I did take the plunge and apply for a new card to Balance transfer over, 0% for 9 months (didn't offer as much time as originally offered) but no fee's which I thought was good. Slight annoyance that they are not giving us the credit limit we wanted (4k) but £2500 , but that does give me the chance to pay off two thirds of the debt on the horrible Tesco Card.

I might apply to another balance transfer after that to another card to get rid of the remaining balance which should be £1467. we will see.

Abit of good news, I managed to sell Ds's un-used Yamaha Keyboard for £80 so I have put that in the kitchen pot. Now have £170, although think most of that is going to have to go towards a new tyre on the car as its looking more than a little bald. Tyres on my card are around £100 + fitting. Will have to shop around.

Right, I must get on with the cleaning. Thanks loads for all your lovely messages since I last came on, Welcome Bluelala, I am surprised reading all my diary hasn't sunk you into a depression :o;)

No news on the job renovating next door, so annoying.

    Will speak later xxx

For what it's worth (if this is the halifax card) we got the same offer - 9 months and £2,500. So I imagine they allocated a certain number of 18-month deals and they're gone so now they're giving everyone shorter terms.

Congrats on the cleaning income and the keyboard sale. :)

    Hi HiddenShadow

Hope all is good with you xx

Yes it was the Halifax card. You are probably right. Tesco's were so unbending last time I called them, I think I would rather just transfer away from them onto 0% deals.

I am currently eyeing everything up in the house again in a bid to find something worth selling :D

    Hi Steph,

I've spent the last couple of weeks catching up with your whole diary. I must say you're an inspiration. Although I'm no longer in debt, I am trying to save to get on the property ladder so I love your money-spinning ideas. After reading your diary from the beginning, with all the ups and downs, it really feels like we're all in this together. I can't wait until your Debt-free day!

    Hi Swash

Thank you so much for taking the ridiculous amount of time it must have taken to read my whole diary. You probably know me better than I do now :rotfl:

I think I have had about 20 money spinning ideas since my diary started. I feel I am constantly looking at everything and how I might be able to turn it into something that makes money, it's quite exhausting.

Well done for getting out of debt, I am in the last third of my debt but it seems to be taking forever. Loads of luck with your saving for a deposit. Let me know if you have a diary I can also read.

Stick around if you can, great to have a new friend xx
  • Wow that does sound busy, don't worry about the messy house mine is constantly under a pile of washing, bikes, athletics equipment and general disorder. One day everything will be tidy.

We were playing Monopoly yesterday dh just happened to stick his hand down the side of the sofa and found sweet wrappers, a bracelet, a spoon and £2! I did the same on the other sofa and found a hairband, more rubbish and a pair of scissors. Appalling.

Well done selling the keyboard, I noticed that your overdraft is going down nicely too.
