I've been reading your thread, try not to be too hard on yourself. I work full time and I often don't feel like I get anything done either, as when I'm not at work, I just want to veg out.

I find that if I break things down into smaller tasks and work through each part quicker, I do get it done.

In terms of work, we'll all be working until we drop, so even if you can't take on extra work for a while, you may still have another 20+ years to look forward too!!!! (or not).

    Hi Chanie

Thanks for replying, glad its not just me that struggles with getting the extra things done.

Yes I guess my struggles with childcare are only relevant for maybe the next 7 years until my youngest is 16. Still not certain on the wisdom of leaving an 18 & 16 year old at home alone but hopefully they can be trusted by then ;)

  • Yuck - Just opened our credit card statement from Tesco's and it appears they have started charging us interest again :(.

I paid £100 in August and they have charged me £60 in interest .

Have to wait for hubby to get home as its in his name but I will ring them up and request and I&E run through to hopefully get some pity from them and get it back onto interest free. Trouble is it is my largest debt now standing at £3956 :o, so they are at the bottom of my debt snowball so can't really promise them any overpayments for a while.

Hopefully I get a nice sympathetic person later on. Will let you know how I go, Tesco have been the most stingy with offers of help so far so not expecting much assistance.

Will see how it goes xx
  • Good luck with Tesco! At least now you know the score - reading back in your thread you wouldn't have opened that envelope and then been surprised by all the interest charges. Now you can be proactive about trying to get your interest rate sorted early on - may not work but it's worth a shot!
  • Morning Diary,

Ok.....I have caught up with all my subscribed diaries, done the YNAB/Bank statement reconcile, paid some bills.

Now on to jobs I need to do today.

1 - Bake a cake for packed lunches
2 - Bake some fairy cakes for school tuck shop tomorrow
3 - Weed and clear out a couple of veg beds in the Veg plot
4 - Bed up the geese and chickens coups.
    5 - Tidy around house
6 - Get washing machine going and pegged out

That should do for today, think I might do my favourite first and get baking, save the mucky jobs for after lunch.

    Lovely sunny Dorset day here.xxx
  • sounds like you had a busy day planned Steph, hope you got sorted.

Did you manage to ring T3sc0? xx

Well I managed 4 out of 6, so could be worse ;)

So frustrating, I need to find a time when hubby and I are both home as it is in him name so he need to be there to get through security. Haven't found a chance just yet this week, Will try again tonight. xx
  • Morning Diary,

Work again this morning, then when I get home I want to get a head start on a meal I am cooking tomorrow.

I have my best friend and her family coming over for dinner and thought I would do curry, with all the trimmings.

We are also apple picking tomorrow too, so I want to be able to help with that, so I thought most of the dinner I could get prepared and probably almost finished now and just warm it all through tomorrow.

It thankfully hasn't cost me much as I already have the meat and all the spices, it was just a few bits like Coconut milk, poppadum's etc. My friend is bringing the pudding :T

It should be a lovely evening hopefully.

Not a lot else to report really, once this weeks wages is paid I should be able to finish the last of the bills for September.

No clubs after school tonight, so I should finally have some time to call Tesco whilst hubby is here, he does go out to Skittles a 8pm though so I must remember in time.

Will check out now s my life is too boring to think of anything else to say :rotfl: xxx

    Hi Steph
I hope your evening with friends went well and that you're having a good weekend. Where do you go apple picking? If the weather in Dorset is as lovely as it's been here it should have gone well.
You sound rather down. Are you OK. Plan some good things for yourself, perhaps some meet ups with friends or a walk.

Looking at your signature wow on the overdraft. You've really got that down hugely. Well done. It must be so hard budgetting when you don't know how much you'll have or when it will be paid.
