Im glad you had a nice evening night, I do feel this is important to have this time.. even if you don't feel like spending the money!
Re the clothes, the kids don't break up for another couple of weeks which means they are in uniform for most of the time. Could you build up your pot until just before and then buy them some essentials?
xx
Hi MTG thanks for posting.
It was a nice outing with hubby and so very rare, so I think you are right. I can't actually remember the last thing we did together so its been a looong time
That's a good idea, I do have my cleaning job each week, so could hopefully get £60 saved in 2 weeks. Which looking at the prices of clothes in Primark and H&M I could get quite a few items with that amount of money :TNot sure why you lost confidence because you were doing so well. But your happiness is the main thing. At least you have done the course so you can go back to it should you change your mind.
I had a little look on your FB page for your crafts and they are lovely xx
Hi Swash
I know. I am silly really, and I should speak to the Spa owner and at least ask why the work has dried up. Think I am a bit spineless sometimesHow about actually posting a wanted ad on fscebook for clothes??? Sometimes easier than just looking out for them x
Hi Linz
Thanks for posting, yes that's a good idea.
I am watching a few bundles on Fleabay, but might do a few requests on the local selling pages.
Thanks x0 -
Morning Diary,
Sunny Friday morning here.
Got my cleaning job this morning, which should be £30 for the now nearly empty savings pot. Straight after work I have to take the car into big town for the tyre to be changed £118 + £39.99 tracking. Although on the plus side - at least I will now be legal, as the tyre is nearly shiny
Not a whole lot to report besides that, waiting on four customers to pay hubby now, so frustrating. I just wish people would pay their bills quickly. Its all allocated against our bills but its nice to get things paid and gone.
Quiet weekend ahead, a friend has offered for Dd to ride her horse on Saturday so will take her to that. Otherwise I have to assist the children in getting their school projects started. Should be like dragging horses to water
Hope anyone who reads has a nice day xxx0 -
Quick Post.
I've had an idea???
I have applied for a new credit card which is for 2.5k initially planning on transfer over to my horrid Tesco credit card as they are not very helpful in cancelling interest etc.
But I am also getting moaned at by Virgin and they mentioned a Full & Final Settlement when I spoke to them.
I am wondering if maybe I ought to get through the I&E's with them to see what they will accept as a Full & final Settlement. If it is good then I could maybe to a transfer to them to maybe hopefully halve the debt I have with them.
What do you all think?0 -
Hi Steph,
I don't think you can do a full & final by cc transfer unless you were going to withdraw the cash from the New cc but that would be expensive I imagine. Sorry if I have got the wrong end of the stick!

I would find out what Virgin are willing to accept and see what you can get together to pay it off as I presume you do have a line of credit if you really needed to use it with the new credit card ?0

As Puzzcat said, you can't use a balance transfer to do a full and final settlement. (Looking at it from Virgin's point of view, if you're able/willing to make payments on the 0% card you transfer to, why should they allow you to pay off your debt with them and not collect that money?)
Depending on how much Virgin is willing to accept (worth sending them a letter to make a F&F offer below whatever they've been offering you), could you use a 0% on purchases card to take care of your everyday expenses for a month or two to free up the cash for the F&F amount?
If not, I'd go with transferring Tesco over. Bear in mind that you won't be able to use the full 2.5k - usually they force you to keep 10-15% of the available balance so you'd only be able to move over £2,125-£2,250. That only leaves ~£1k left though, and your interest will go down.0 -
I'd do what Hidden shadow said, I have been thinking about doing something like that with a 0% purchases card to keep cash in a new current account that pays interest (hope that makes sense).
If not the evil that is Tesc*s needs to be dispatched.

Hi all
Thanks for your help and advice about the credit cards. Hmmmm I am not sure it will work trying to do a F&F with V1rgin.
I could get a 0% on purchases card for our living expenses but trouble is with only being paid weekly it will be quite a long winded and complicated thing to try to save up the spare cash and live off the credit card. Also apart from Food & fuel, everything else is pretty much direct debits which I cannot control with a credit card.
Aaah bums, don't think it is going to work.
I will just go ahead and do the balance transfer to Evil Mr T. At least it will take the interest pressure off that card, and I can concentrate on killing that last 1k off.
Off to do that now while I remember. xx0 -
Right, well I have done it.
I activated the card and applied for the balance transfer of £2300 from Mr T to the Halifax.
Not sure if it will go through smoothly as it asked for the expiry date of the Mr T card but as we cut it up long long ago I had to guess.
Fingers crossed.
So I have been abit presumptuous and have altered my signature. Kind of feels better to have it split into smaller amounts now. All the totals are looking a lot smaller and its nicer to not see a 4k biggie sat at the end of the list.
Oh when will all of this be over? I am so tired of juggling and dodging to try to win this battle. 2016 will be my year, I have struggled all the way through 2015 and not made much headway at all. I MUST get this dealt with quicker.
