Just hold, the thought that the holidays start soon so wouldn't be for long ?

Couldn't the friend whose son you drop off collect them as a favour.

    Hi Dawn,

Yes only three weeks till the holidays. I forgot about the car sharing friend, yes I guess it wouldn't be a huge ask to see if she would help. There is the odd day that the boys do an after school club so I would still have to pick up Dd but would certainly help. Another option I guess xxxx

Thank you so much Toot, It does feel good to get into the mindset that NO MATTER what life throws at you, you will not use debt to help solve the problem. As my debt repayments have been pretty crummy this first half of the year I have had to console myself that at least I haven't made it worse. It is always heading in the right direction, no matter how slowly.

I also fear that I would totally fall off the debt busting wagon if I ended up adding to the debt, it would feel like such a disaster to me.

Thank you again, we will share a virtual glass of champagne when I finally get there xxxx Big hugs xxx

    Morning Diary,

Well, hubby's van went in for it's MOT. Failed as expected, but amazing hubby went to car parts place, spent £42 and came home and fixed the problems :T. So MOT fee included it has only cost around £92 to get the van MOT'd. Assuming the MOT fee is about £50.

The car is booked in next Tuesday, so we will get the van work checked and the car done on the same day.

Feels better already to know that hubbys van will be on the road cheaply, without that our income gets hit as its obviously what gets hubby to work and back.

Was abit naughty yesterday and splashed out on a new pair of jeans (£24 Next). I have two pairs of jeans and both have holes forming in them, and even though holey jeans can be fashionable I am not sure it works well on a 40 year old :o.

Did a treatment yesterday for £35 so I guess my earnings paid for it. Got my little £25 cleaning job this morning and then got to go and help FIL paint his new flat.

I dug out my sunglasses yesterday and it feels nice to wear them for school pick up. I almost feel like I can hide behind them, like protection or a barrier. I am abit worried that my fear of the school gates is getting out of hand. It almost feels like a kind of Agrophobia, but then I am not scared of going anywhere else. Think I am just allergic to back-stabbing ;).

Anyway three more weeks and counting......

Had better get ready for work, have a lovely day ladies (and gents)

    Morning

    Just a little update.

Car failed its MOT but the repairs were only small so in total for the two vehicles the repairs & MOT's cost £200 :T.
So relived that they are out of the way.

Well, its my 40th birthday today :o and I still have 8k of debt :(.

After July and hubby's op I am going to become a frugal maniac again because I know why I haven't managed to kill off this debt and its because I have seriously taken my eye of the ball and have been allowing us little pleasures and treats. On our small income it unfortunately doesn't take a lot of treats to totally blow the budget.

I most certainly do NOT want to be 41 and still have this debt hanging around.

Meant to be going out to lunch with a couple of friends this afternoon and then bowling with family tonight. Should be a nice day hopefully, despite the rain that is forecast.

Feeling a little deflated but I think I always do on my birthday. It always just seems to highlight the people I have lost (my dad, all grandparents and my mum has dementia so doesn't remember anything). But I have great hubby, my two lovely children and some good friends so that should be enough.
Doesn't stop me feeling a little melancholy though :o

Hope you all have a lovely day, speak soon xxx

Happy birthday Steph, hope that you have a great day. I am sure that you will dig deep and kill the debt very soon, you have done so well, but life will always mess up our carefully laid plans, you have adapted where you have had to and not added to debt:beer:
